Congratulations on your purchase of Resort Umbrella Solutions Tilt the Pole®. This document will guide you
through a basic understanding of operation and how to install with an approved umbrella. Only use Tilt the
Pole with an umbrella that has been tested and approved by the professionals at Resort Umbrella Solutions.
Step 1
Unpack from box
Check for any damage to the box prior to opening. If there is any damage contact the carrier service and report a claim.
Gently open the box and remove the packing material to locate the TTP-V3. Remove TTP-V3 from box and place on non
scratch surface.

Locate screws loosely shipped with TTP-V3
Attached to top post
Attached to lower post
Step 3
Remove screws / nuts and place in a spot where you
will remember where you put them.
The current TTP-V3 model is designed for
umbrellas with 1.5” diameter poles. Use only
umbrella manufacturers approved by Resort
Umbrella Solutions. Warranty can be voided.

Step 4
Prepare to create upper post/lower post for TTP-V3
(Skip this step if you have purchased the umbrella
from Resort Umbrella Solutions –go to STEP 9 )
Take the post shipped with your umbrella (standard
table height or bar table height) and measure from the
top (where the umbrella gets inserted) 8” (as shown to
the right).
The current TTP-V3 model is designed for
umbrellas with 1.5” diameter poles. Use only
umbrella manufacturers approved by Resort
Umbrella Solutions. Warranty can be voided.

Cut upper post for TTP-V3
(Skip this step if you have purchased the umbrella
from Resort Umbrella Solutions-go to STEP 9 )
Take the post that has been marked at 8” and
place in chop saw and line up the blade with
8” mark. Make a clean cut. Now you have 2
pieces. Clean up the burrs / edge of the cut
with a file. Clean up both pieces with a file
before moving onto the next step.

umbrellas with 1.5” diameter poles. Use only

Measure hole location for upper post
(Skip this step if you have purchased the umbrella
from Resort Umbrella Solutions-go to STEP 9)
Now that you have the upper post and lower
post cut and cleaned up (free from burrs) you
are ready to install the mounting holes. Let’s
first start with the 8” post. This should already
have the hole in which the release button gets
inserted for the umbrella. From the bottom of
the post, measure 3.30” (opposite end of
release button hole).

umbrellas with 1.5” diameter poles. Use only
umbrella manufacturers approved by Resort

Measure hole location for lower post
(Skip this step if you have purchased the umbrella
from Resort Umbrella Solutions-go to STEP 9)
With the end that was just cut
(which is free from burrs) measure
3.63” and mark.
The current TTP-V3 model is designed for
umbrellas with 1.5” diameter poles. Use only

Step 8
Insert holes into lower post and upper post
(Skip this step if you have purchased the umbrella
from Resort Umbrella Solutions-go to STEP 9)
Now let’s install the holes. Take a ¼” drill bit and
install it into the drill press. Accurately align the post
below the drill press with a vice or clamp or tool that
will ensure that the hole is drilled in the center of the
1.5” diameter pole. Then drill through at the
marked locations on both posts. Now you are ready
to install into TTP-V3.

Step 9
Install upper post into TTP-V3
Take the upper post and install it into
the TTP-V3. It will rest on top of a
screw inside.
Line up the hole of the 2 posts.
Insert 10-32 screw –it will go all the
way through
Thread your nut onto the screw so
that you completely thread the
screw-make a secure tight fit but do
not over-tighten.
The current TTP-V3 model is designed for
umbrellas with 1.5” diameter poles. Use only
umbrella manufacturers approved by Resort
Umbrella Solutions. Warranty can be voided.

Step 10
Install lower post into TTP-V3
Take the lower post and install it into
the TTP-V3. It will come to a stop
inside.
Line up the hole of the 2 posts.
Insert 10-32 screw –it will go all the
way through.
Thread the wing nut onto the screw
so that you completely thread the
screw-make a secure tight fit but do
not over-tighten. The wing nut is
used so that the TTP and umbrella can
be removed easily. If preferred you
can use a nylock nut instead of a wing
nut.

umbrellas with 1.5” diameter poles. Use only
