1. About 2N® NetStar
Assistant Application
ThisapplicationhelpsusersworkwiththePBXmoreefficientlygivingthemcomfortable
access to information on their telephone line traffic. It combines CTI telephony with
telephonelineoperationallowingtheusertomonitorthecallhistory,sendandreceive
text messages, comfortably define profiles and time conditions, program telephone
buttonsorringingmodes,managetheusertelephonedirectoryandmakeuseofmany
otherconvenientoptions.
TheapplicationisruninanInternetbrowser.Therecommendedmonitorresolutionis
1024x768pixels.Thismanualwillgiveyouacompleteguidetotheapplicationand
quicknavigationtoselecteditems.RefertotheapplicationHELPitemformoredetails.

2.1 First Launch
EnteryourPBXaddressascommunicatedbyyourITadministratorintoawebbrowser.
Forexample: ,or,ifaliasissetforthedefinedIPaddressbyhttp://192.168.100.100
thenetworkadministrator,theaccessaddressmaybe .Nowfillhttp://netstar.firma.cz
in your username (as defined by the administrator), leave the password empty and
pressOKforconfirmation.
Youwillbeaskedtochangethepasswordafterthefirstlogin.However,youneednot
changethepasswordafterthefirstlogin,youcanchangeitanytimelater.Youwill
automaticallyproceedtothepasswordeditingpageuponloginuntilyouchangethe
password.Inthismenu,youcanalsoselectthelanguagemutationforinterface
comunication.Youcanchangeeitheritemanytimelater.PushtheModifybuttonfor
confirmation.

Listings–thismenuprovidescallhistory,SMShistory,telephonedirectory
itemsandalistof PBXserviceaccesscodes.Ifdefinedintheuser2N NetStar
®
rights,managementofconferenceroomsandrecordedcallscanbedisplayed
too.Ifthelogged–inuserroleisManager,telephonedirectories,recordedcall
andcallhistoryofthewholecompanyaredisplayed.
Usersettings–thismenuhelpsyoumanageyourPBXaccount,personal
profiles,PBXuserrightsettingsandringingtonesettings.Ifsetsointheuser
rights,thePBXuserhierarchyandsessionsofcurrentlylogged–inuserscanbe
displayedinthismenu.
Telephones–themenuprovidesalluserterminalsettings,includingspeed
diallingbuttons,volumecontrolandinformationtobedisplayedon2N OptiSet
®
, and digitaltelephones.2N StarPoint
®2N OpenStage
®
Operator–thismenuisaccessiblewithauthorisationonly.Youcandefine
operatorstationsandstationgroupstobemonitored,andtransferandforward
callsbetweensuchstationsusingCTIintheAssistant.Inaddition,youcan
controlbundleshere.
Hotel–thismenuisaccessiblewithauthorisationonly.Itisusedforeasyroom
stationoperation,emergencyalertingandalarmclockcontrolwhenthePBXis
configuredintheHotelmode.
Configuration–thismenuisaccessiblewithauthorisationonly.Ithelpsyou
monitorlicences,PBXHWandSWsettingsand2N NetStarAssistant
®
administrationsettingscomfortably.
Favourites–hereyoucansetdirectaccesstoall2N NetStarAssistant
®
pages.
Help–opensaHelpwindowforthe application.2N NetStarAssistant

Profile:none–thismenuhelpsyoudirectlysetaprofileforthecurrently

menu.Youcanalsocreateusertimeconditionsandassignthemtoprofileshere.
Logout–usethisoptiontologoutwhenyouhavefinishedyourwork.

The following window displays pre-defined basic port settings as used by the 2N®
andthecurrentlyusedPCdomainname.IfthePCyouareNetstarAssistant Server
currentlyusingfor installation contains another application thatusesthesame ports
(MicrosoftIIS,e.g.),modifytheportstoavoidcollision.Remembertoentertheserver
address with the correct port in that case. If there is no port collision, leave the
pre-definedvaluesunchangedandclickonNexttocontinue.
Tobeused efficiently, the hasto be installed ona2N NetStarAssistant
®Server
pre-preparedserverorserverPC.Refertothe Administratorinstallation2N NetStar
®
directoryfor installation. Thebenefitsoftheuse of2N NetStar Assistant
®Server
the2N NetStarAssistantServerincludeahighernumberofconcurrentconnectionsto

Having started the application, select a language for installator communication. This
selectiondoesnotaffecttheresultantlanguageofthewebapplication,whichissetin
theconnectedPBX.Checkthe versioninthenextwindowfor2N NetstarAssistant
®
compliance with your PBX firmware or ask your PBX administrator if necessary.
Otherwise,yourapplicationwillnotwork.Theinstallationwizardwillaskforagreement
withthelicencetermsandconditions.Pleasereadthetermsandconditionsandselect
Agree...andthenclickonNext.
