Operation precautions
General considerations
1. Keeptheunitmorethan1m(3.3')awayfromradioorTVset.
2. Iftheunitisdownordoesnotoperateproperly,unplugthepowersupplyorturnoffthePOWERswitches.
3. Theunitcasemaybecomeawarmwithuse,butthisisnotaunitmalfunction.
4. Ifyouenable“SecondVideoEncoder”(→page18),theunitwillcontinuetooutputvideo.Whenthishappens,the
unitcasemaybecomewarmbutthisisnotaunitmalfunction.
5. Ifitisusedclosetoacellularphone,theunitmaymalfunction.
6. Theunitturnsinoperativeduringpowerfailure.
7. Inareaswherebroadcastingstationantennasarecloseby,theintercomsystemmaybeaffectedbyradio
frequencyinterference.
8. Duringcommunication,Ifyoustandtoofaraway,itmaybedifficultfortheotherpersontohearthe
communication.
9. Ifthereareloudnoisesaroundtheunit(suchasmusicplayingorchildrencrying),thesoundmaybreakupand
bedifficulttohear.
10.Duringcommunication,ifyouspeakbeforetheotherpersonhasfinishedtalking,yourvoicemaynotcome
throughclearly.Communicationwillproceedsmoothlyifyouwaituntiltheotherpersonhasfinishedbefore
speaking.
11.Duringmonitoring,thenoisecutfunctiondoesnotworkformakingoutsidesoundseasytohear,sothenoise
maybeheardlouderthanduringcommunication.
12.Thisproduct,beingacontrolunitofdoorrelease,shouldnotbeusedasacrimepreventiondevice.
13.Thediscriminationbetweendayandnightisperformedautomaticallybythedoorstation.Thoughthe
discriminationresultmayvarydependingontheinstallationenvironment,itisnotamalfunction.
14.Duetotheenvironmentalsoundaroundtheunit,itmayhindersmoothcommunication,butthisisnota
malfunction.
15.Atnight,duetoreducedlightingontheobject,themonitorseesmorenoiseandthefacebecomesmoredifficult
tosee,butthisisnotmalfunction.
16.Atagateorporchilluminatedbyafluorescentlamp,thepicturemayvary,butthisisnotamalfunction.
17.Theoutlineofvideoimagesdisplayedbyvideodoorstationmaydifferfromthatoftheactualperson(s)or
background,butthisisnotamalfunction.
18.Ifthesurfaceofavideodoorstationfreezesduringwintertime,thepicturemaybecomedifficulttoseeorthecall
button(includingthecallbuttonofaudiodoorstation)maynotmove,butthisisnotamalfunction.
19.Warm-colorlightingshiningonthevideodoorstationmaychangethetintofthepictureonthemonitor.
20.Whenusingfluorescentlightstoilluminatethescreenitscolorsmayperiodicallychange(colorrolling),butthisis
notamalfunction.
21.Whenoutsidetemperaturelowerssharplyafterrainfall,etc.,theinsideofthecameramayfogupslightly,causing
ablurrypicture,butthisisnotamalfunction.Normaloperationwillberestoredwhenmoistureevaporates.
22.Whentheunit’sscreenisilluminatedwithstronglight,theimagelookswhiteorsilhouetted.Butthisisnotaunit
trouble.

1. Dependingonthenetworkenvironmentandcomputer,itmaynotbeuseable.
2. YouneedtosettheID/passwordtoaccessthewebserverwhenchangingthesystemsettingsordoingthe
systemmaintenance.ThesystemadministratormustkeeptheID/passwordwithoutfail.
3. TheID/Passwordtoaccessthewebserverforsettingthesystemisthecustomer’sresponsibility.Makesureyou
setapasswordthatcannotbeeasilyguessedbyathirdparty.WerecommendthatyouchangetheID/Password
onaregularbasis.
4. YoumaynotbeabletooperatestationswhileupdatingtheSystemsettingsbyusingaPC.
5. Videoimagesand/orsoundsmaybeinterrupteddependingonthecommunicationstatus.
