Safety Instructions
1. Read the safety instructions carefully and thoroughly.
2. Save the User’s Guide for possible use later.
3. Keep this equipment away from humidity and high temperature.
4. Lay this equipment on a stable surface before setting it up.
5. The openings on the enclosure are used for air convection and to prevent the
equipment from overheating. Do not cover the openings.
6. Make sure that the AC power voltage is within its safety range and has been
adjusted properly to the value of 100/240V before connecting the equipment to
the power outlet.
7. Place the power cord in a way that people are unlikely to step or trip on it. Do not
place anything on the power cord.
8. All cautions and warnings on the equipment should be noted.
9. Never pour any liquid into the openings that could damage the equipment or
cause electrical shock.
10. If any of the following situations arise, get the equipment checked by a service
professional:
a) the power cord or plug is damaged
b) liquid has penetrated into the equipment
c) the equipment has been exposed to moisture
d) the equipment does not work well or you can not get it to work according
to the User’s Guide
e) the equipment was dropped or damaged
f) the equipment has obvious signs of breakage
11. Do not leave the equipment in an unconditioned environment with a storage
temperature of 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit) or above, which may
damage the equipment.

Packing Checklist:
Please check that the following items are in your Tech/Touch package. If any of these
items are damaged or missing, contact your local Representative or Dealer for
replacement.

Features:
Front Panel
The front view of the Tech/Touch is shown above. The following table will describe the
indicators and control buttons located on the Tech/Touch:
Control Item Description
1. Power button Press the Power button once to start the
Tech/Touch. Press the Power button and
hold down for 1 to 3 seconds to force the
Tech/Touch hibernate.
2. Charge/Power LEDS Top LED: Shows the charging status with
an amber LED. When amber LED is
flashing, the Internal battery is being
charged. When the amber LED is ON
steadily, the Internal battery is fully
charged.
Bottom LED: Shows the power status with
a green LED. When the green LED is ON
steadily, the Tech/Touch is powered ON.
When the green LED is flashing, the
Tech/Touch is in a standby mode.
3. Display panel The display panel is covered with a plastic
film to protect the touch screen from
scratches during shipping. You may
remove the plastic film.

Rear Panel:
The rear view of the Tech/Touch is shown above. The following table will describe the
features:

1. Internal speakers Left and Right channels
2. Mounting holes To connect the External battery holder and
mounting plate.
3. Cable channel To hold the External battery connection
cable.
4. Simple stand channel To lock in the center section of the simple
stand.
5. Cool air opening Cool air flows in.
6. Air flow opening Hot air flows out

I/O Ports on the Tech/Touch Top view:
PCMCIA slot – insert type I/II PC Card (e.g. WLAN card or SCSI card).
I/O ports on the Tech/Touch Left Side:
I/O Port Description
1. USB 2.0 See appendix for tested devices
2. Volume Control switch To control the audio level from the
speakers and the headphone. Hi, Med &
Lo settings.
3. External Headphone Jack 3.5mm stereo jack, turns off the right
channel to the speakers when plugged in.
4. External Microphone Jack 3.5mm jack, turns off the internal
microphone when plugged in.
5. DC IN 2.1mm power jack for charging the
internal battery.
6. Modem RJ11 modular jack (optional) To connect to the internet through a
dial-up service.
7. LAN RJ45 modular jack (optional) To connect to the internet through a
LAN connection.

Installing the Tech/Touch onto the simple stand:
1. Raise the center section to is maximum height
2. Place the Tech/Touch onto the groove of the stand with the two hooks.
3. Set the Tech/Touch back onto the center section and position the center
section so that it sets into the groove on the back of the Tech/Touch.

Installing the External Battery holder onto the Tech/Touch:
1. Place the Tech/Touch onto a flat stable surface and be careful not to damage
the touch screen on the front of the unit.
2. Remove the four pan head mounting screws from the back of the
Tech/Touch.
3. Place the external battery holder on the on the back of the Tech/Touch and
line up the four mounting holes.
4. Screw in the four new flat head screws loosely provided with the battery
holder do not tighten all the way.
5. Slide the battery connecting cable under the bottom of the battery holder so
that it fits into the groove on the back of the Tech/Touch with the larger plug
(2.5mm) on the right side.
6. Tighten down the four mounting screws.
7. Plug the 2.5mm plug into the charging jack of the Tech/Touch.

Installing the External Battery into the Tech/Touch:
1. Slide the external battery into the battery holder with the status LEDs
showing in the top left corner.
2. Slide the metal hook of the battery holder to the left to lock the battery in.
3. Plug the smaller plug of the battery connecting cable into the bottom of the
battery.
Removing the External Battery:
1. Unplug the smaller plug of the battery connecting cable from the battery.
2. Move the metal hook of the battery holder to the right, release the battery.
3. Slide the external battery up and out of the battery holder.
