the alarm in middle of the ceiling.
•If the length of the room or the hall is beyond 10 meters, you need to install multiple
alarms.
•In rooms with a combustion appliance place the detector at a horizontal distance between
1-3 meters from the CO source;
•Avoid existing air inlets or outlets and other objects on the ceiling;
•Avoid locations behind objects such as curtains and cupboards.
Don’t install on these locations
•High-humidity areas such as kitchens and bathrooms.
•Next to air outlets, fans and central heating.
•Dusty, dirty areas or areas with insects.
•High-temperature and easily polluted places.
•Places with difficult access, making it difficult to operate the test function.
•Within 1.5 meters from lamps.
•Next to doors or windows.
•In the top of rooms with sloping roofs, the corner of the room or other dead-air spaces.

•Drill two 5mm mounting holes and insert two plastic anchor plugs by hammer.
•Screw the mounting bracket to the ceiling or the wall.
•Attach the detector to the mounting bracket and turn clockwise to lock the device.
CAUTION

Activate and deactivate
The device is deactivated by default before leaving the factory. Before the device can be
used normally, the product must be activated. Flip the switch on the backside to the “ON”
position. To store the unit the switch can be set back to the “OFF”position. The unit also
activates automatically if it is attached to its baseplate.
Test your detector
Test the unit to ensure proper operation by pressing the cover. The alarm will sound if the
unit is working well. If there is no sound, refer to the “Trouble shooting” section.
CAUTION:
•DO NOT test your detector using an open flame. This may damage the alarm or ignite
combustible materials and start a structural fire.
•DO NOT stand close to the detector when the alarm is sounding. Exposure at close
range may be harmful to your ears.
•Test this detector once a month.
Alarm
If an alarm signal sounds immediately move to fresh air and do not re-enter the building
until it has been aired out and your alarm returns to its normal condition. Investigate the
source of the alarm and repair the defect. NEVER IGNORE ANY ALARM, while you can
see smoke, carbon monoxide is invisible and can be deadly.
Silence mode
When the detector is going off you can push the test button to pause it for approx. 10
minutes. During this silence mode the red LED will flash once every 8 second. The silence
feature is only to be used when the source of the alarm is known and safe. The detector will
automatically reset after approximately 10 minutes.
CAUTION: Before using the detectors silence mode, identify the source of the alarm

and be certain a safe condition exists. If the source is unknown, it should be assumed
that the alarm is due to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.
Maintenance and cleaning
There are a few simple steps you need do to keep it working properly:
•Test the detector once a month.
•Do not paint the detector. Paint will seal the vents and interfere with the sensors.
•Never attempt to disassemble the detector to clean inside. This will damage the alarm.
•Clean the detector at least once a month to remove dust, dirt or debris. Use a vacuum
cleaner with a soft brush and vacuum all sides and covers of the detector.
Some materials, vapours or gases, can affect the reliability of the alarms in the short or
long term. The following is a list of substances that at high levels can damage the sensor or
cause temporary readings that are not CO readings: Ethylene, ethanol, alcohol, iso-
propanol, benzene, toluene, ethylacetate, hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide.
Also most aerosol sprays, alcohol based products, paint, thinner, solvent, adhesive, hair
spray, after shave, perfume, auto exhaust (cold start) and some cleaning agents.
