1. Introduction
The 8-Port Multi-Gigabit Switch (4-Speed) from DIGITUS®
provides 8 x RJ45 ports with 2.5 Gbps bandwidth each. Expand
your existing network easily with the available backplane
bandwidth of 40 Gbps. No configuration is required on the switch
itself; thanks to auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X, cables
and speeds are also automatically detected. The switch can be
used as a desktop variant or mounted on a wall with the included
mounting accessories. Thanks to the external power adapter, the
switch does not need a fan at all. Ideal for expanding / setting up
small home or business networks with data rates of up to 2.5
Gbps - so even high workloads due to high-resolution streams or
high data volumes are no problem.

6. Hardware Installation
This device will work with all OS’ s because there is no
configuration needed for this stand-alone device. This
switch has auto MDI-X ports that will auto-sense the cable
type that you are using for each port. The switch will then
automatically change the polarity of the port as need to
ensure a link with either a straight-through or crossover

cable. Remember, if you have a link light then you are
using the correct cable.

1. Einleitung
Der 8-Port Multi-Gigabit-Switch (4-Speed) von DIGITUS® bietet 8
RJ45-Ports mit je 2,5 Gbps Bandbreite. Zur einfachen Erweiterung
des Netzwerks steht eine Backplane-Bandbreite von 40 Gbps zur
Verfügung. Sie müssen keine Konfigurationen am Switch
vornehmen. Dank Autonegotiation und automatischer MDI/MDI-
X-Umschaltung werden Kabel und Geschwindigkeiten
automatisch erkannt. Der Switch kann mithilfe des mitgelieferten
Montagezubehörs in Tischaufstellung oder Wandmontage
montiert werden. Dank externem Stromadapter benötigt der
Switch keinen Lüfter. Ideal zur Erweiterung/Einrichtung kleiner
Heim- oder Firmennetzwerke mit Datenraten bis zu 2,5 Gbps –
selbst hohe Belastungen durch hochauflösendes Streaming oder
hohe Datenvolumina sind kein Problem.

Dieses Gerät ist für alle Betriebssysteme geeignet, da es als
Standalone-Gerät keine Konfiguration benötigt. Der Switch
verfügt über Ports mit automatischer MDI-X-Umschaltung,
die den Kabeltyp portbasiert automatisch erkennen. Der
Switch ändert selbsttätig die Polarität des Ports, um einen
Link über ein Straight-Through- oder Crossover-Kabel
