•Check the following before calling our technical department:
- Is the cable between the modem and the decoder properly connected to one of the
TVconnections ?
- Is the blue Belgacom TV screen displayed? If not, unplug the modem and the decoder
from the wall sockets. Wait 20 seconds. Plug the modem back in, followed bythe
decoder. Start-up may take a few minutes.
•If the problem persists, contact Customer Service on 0800 55 700. Operating hours
are07.00 to 22.00 on weekdays and 08.00 to 22.00 at weekends.
Customer Service is not available on public holidays.

Keep your last bill at hand because you will need your line number (‘subscriptions’ section).

resolve it together. Better still, call from your mobile phone so that we can test your xed line
straight away so you do not need to call back.

* Your HD channels: the availability of high-denition content depends on your installation and whether you are in an area covered by the HD signal.
You can check this at www.belgacom.be/tv or in a Belgacom shop.
e decoder
e equipment will have been installed either by you or by an engineer.
Nevertheless, if you need to disconnect the cables, refer to the installation guide
for instructions on reconnection. Depending on which model you have, the
decoder display will show the following:
e remote control
e remote control communicates with the decoder
so you need to point the remote at the decoder.
Changing channel is slower with digital television.
Follow the instructions on page 60 to make your
life easier by using only one remote control for
Belgacom TV and your television.
•HD indicates that the content you are watching is being
broadcast in * (high denition).
•indicates that a signal is being transmitted.
•REC indicates that a recording is in progress.
ON the left there are 4 lights on the decoder display:
•the or POWER light ashes when the decoder is
receiving information from the remote control;
•the SIGNAL light indicates that the decoder is on;
•the HD light indicates that the content you are watching
is being broadcast in *;
•the RECORD light indicates that recording is in progress.
Don't forget to replace the batteries in the
remote control, preferably every year.

Before starting
Belgacom TV
e Belgacom TV decoder is connected to your television in exactly the same way
asany other device (DVD player, Playstation etc.).
Use the remote control for your television to change to the appropriate source
(Scartor HDMI) and see the Belgacom TV screen.
Only use one remote control!
You can use your remote control to control your
television and your decoder. You must rst make
yourremote control a universal remote.
Choose your remote control below depending on the type:
Have you done everything you need to? From now on you can:
•switch your decoder on and o using the button to use Belgacom TV
•switch your TV on and o using the button
•switch between the external sources connected to your television using
the button
•adjust the volume using the buttons

If the e indicator is lit, this means that you are controlling
your decoder. If the e indicator is lit, this means that you can
control your television; press to switch from the TV to the decoder.

Operation
In this instruction manual, various actions are represented by a symbol corresponding
to the buttons on your remote control which you must press:

Navigation
Belgacom TV uses menus for navigation.
A menu is a list of options displayed on
the screen. e arrow buttons allow you
to navigate through the menus and to
make your choice.
- Press to go back (return to the previous page or menu)
- Press to see the list of channels
You can navigate between most of the
menus and perform all the actions
(record, pause, watch a lm on demand,
change channel, etc. :
1- using the buttons and the
and buttons on the
remote control
2- the larger section titles show you
where you are;
3- the arrows in the menu show
whereyou can navigate to
(left,right,up, down).

Starting up

1. Rebooting the decoder
gYou can scroll through the list of
channels after 3 minutes. About
6minutes later you can navigate
inthemenus.
If you try to do so sooner, the message
shown on the left will be displayed on
your screen.

• disconnect the cables;
• disconnect the decoder.

2. Switching the decoder on and o
gTo switch the decoder on and o and
to access Belgacom TV, press the
button. e picture appears
immediately and you can access the
main menu.
Shortly after switching on the decoder,
the menu bar appears at the bottom of
the screen.
It disappears automatically after
10seconds or as soon as you press the
button on your remote control.

gYou can change channel using
the number buttons or using the
button.
When you change channel, an information
bar is displayed at the bottom of the
screenwith:
• the channel name;
• the programme name;
• the duration of the programme;
• icons indicating whether the
channel is being broadcast in *
(HighDenition), the duration of the
programme and whether a recording
isin progress or scheduled.
You can nd the full list of channels in
theTV guide (see page 13).
Press the button while watching
aprogramme.
When you switch on the decoder, the
main menu is displayed for 10 seconds
after which it disappears automatically.
You can then access a wide range
ofchannels.
