CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Clean the inside of the coffee maker by running it with cold water only.
• Wash the TRAVEL MUG, TRAVEL MUG LID and PERMANENT FILTER with warm,
soapy water.
• Wipe the outside with a soft, damp cloth.

• The coffee maker shuts off automatically when brewing is complete.
• Wait at least three minutes before removing the TRAVEL MUG from the PAD
to ensure the coffee has passed through the PERMANENT FILTER.

3. Lift the COVER.
4. Pour the water from the TRAVEL MUG into the WATER RESERVOIR.
Note: Do not exceed the WATER MAX LINE.
5. Place the PERMANENT FILTER in the FILTER HOLDER.
6. Using the COFFEE SCOOP, place two scoops of coffee in the
PERMANENT FILTER.
7. Lower the COVER.
8. Place the TRAVEL MUG on the PAD.
9. Press BREW/POWER to start the brewing process. The BREW
INDICATOR illuminates.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
All the safety and operating instructions should be read, adhered to and
followed before the unit is operated.
DANGER
To reduce the risk of electric shock, burns, fire or injury:
1. Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet immediately after using.
2. Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
3. Do not place or store unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. Do not reach for unit that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.
6. Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled
into enclosures.

COFFEE MAKER OPERATION
MAKING A CUP OF COFFEE
Before making your first cup of coffee, clean the coffee maker by running
it with water only. Do not add coffee. Thoroughly clean the coffee mug by
washing it with warm, soapy water several times prior to use.
The coffee maker turns on automatically and the BREW INDICATOR illuminates
the first time you plug it into an electrical outlet. Wait until the unit shuts off
automatically before you proceed to make coffee.
1. Insert the power cord into an electrical outlet.
Note: If BREW/POWER is pressed when the unit is not plugged in, the unit
will be “On” when you plug it in.
2. Fill the TRAVEL MUG with cold water.

WARNING

2. Use this unit only for its intended use as described in this manual.
3. Unplug this unit during lightning storms.
4. Never drop or insert an object into any opening.
5. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at
plug outlets, convenience receptacles, and the point where it exits the unit.
6. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Do not roll the power cord around
the unit for storage until it has cooled completely. Wrap cord loosely
around the unit when storing.
7. The unit should be situated away from direct sunlight or heat sources, such
as radiators, electric heaters, heat registers, stoves, or other units (including
amplifiers) that produce heat. Avoid placing on top of stereo equipment
that radiates heat.
8. Do not overload electrical outlet. Use only the power source as indicated.
9. Do not carry this unit by cord or use cord as handle.

10. Never operate this unit if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working
properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged or dropped into water. If
the unit’s supply cord or plug is damaged, do not attempt to fix it yourself.
11. To avoid the risk of electrical shock, do not disassemble or attempt to
repair the unit. Incorrect repair can cause risk of electrical shock or injury to
persons when unit is used.
12. This unit has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
defeat this feature.
13. Do not connect the unit to an electrical outlet intended for shavers.
14. Do not use an extension cord unless competent authority has approved it.
15. Do not use the unit when it is damaged or is working improperly.
