TELEPHONE SET UP

1. Usethenewlinecordtoconnect thePHONEjackofyournewtelephonetothe

modularwalljack.

2. Placetheunitona flat tableor mountitonawall.To mounttheunit onawall,

youmust usethewall mountbracketsupplied. You mustalsoremove thetab

belowthe handsetreceiver andturn itaround.

PULSEAND TONE DIALING

1. Ifyourtelephonelineacceptstouch-tonedialing,setthePULSE/TONE

switchtotheTone position. Theswitchis locatedon theright sideof thetele-

phone.Thedefault positionistonedialing.

2. If yourtelephonelinerequires rotary(pulse)dialing,setthe PULSE/TONE

switch tothe Pulseposition.

3. Ifyouare unsurewhich systemyou have,settheswitchto theTONE position.

Lift thehandset.When youget adialtone,diala telephonenumber.Ifthedial

tonecontinues,movetheswitchtoPULSE,andthendialthetelephone

numberagain.

RECEIVINGA PHONE CALL

1. Besure theRINGER switchisset tothedesiredposition.

2. Whenthephone rings,lift thehandset.

PLACINGAPHONECALL

1. Lift the handset and wait for a dial tone.

2. Dialthetelephonenumberyou wishtocall.

TELEPHONE FEATURES

REDIALBUTTON

1. Ifthenumber youdialed isbusy,or youwant tocallthe lastnumber dialed

again,lift the handset, or pressand releasethe hookswitchfor anewdial

tone.

2. PressREDIAL.

3. Thelastnumbercalled willautomatically beredialed.

FLASHBUTTON

Thistelephoneprovidesalinebreaksignal foraccessingPABXserviceorforconve-

nientuseofCallWaitingfromyourlocaltelephonecompany.IfyouhaveCallWaiting

service,you canalternatethe CallWaitingfunction perthefollowing instructions.

1. Whilehavingaconversation,anotherpartycalls andyouhearatone.

2. PresstheFLASH button onceandrelease. Thefirstconversation isplacedon

holdandthesecondcallcan beanswered.

3. PressFLASH buttonagain andrelease.The firstcallercan bespokento

againandthesecondcallis placedonhold.

HANDSETVOLUMECONTROL

Usethe HandsetVolume slide controllocatedontheright sideofthe phonebaseto

change volume control. This increased volume should allow persons with hearing

impairmentsto carryonnormalconversationsbyadjustingthe receivevolumeto its

properlevel.

RINGERVOLUME

Usethe RingerVolumecontrollocatedontherightsideofthephonebasetochange

ringervolume fromlowto high.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PHONE DOES NOT RING

1. Linecordisdisconnected attelephoneoutletorattelephone end.

2. Phoneis OFF HOOK.Makecertainthehookswitchis depressedwhenthe

handset isin thecradle.

NO DIAL TONE

Wireisdisconnectedattelephonejackoratwalljack.Testthetelephoneinadifferent

wall jack. If it works, the first jack may be defective.

HAVE DIAL TONEBUTCANNOTDIALOUT

Checkif thePULSE/TONEswitchisinthe correctposition.

REDIALBUTTONDOESNOT FUNCTION

Thetelephonemayhave beenmomentarily disconnectedfrom thetelephone jack.

MAINTENANCE INFORMATION

Treat your telephone equipment with care for trouble-free performance.Avoid

droppingthehandset. Carefullyplacethehandset on-hookafteruse.

Avoidputtingnear heatingappliancesanddevicesthat generateelectricalnoise(for

example,motorsandflorescentlamps).
