Recommendations
General:
• To prevent voltage damage, the power supply cable may only be removed when the power is off
• While working on the Printer:
- make sure that ESD regulations are respected
- that only trained personnel has access to
• The attempt to repair will result in the loss of warranty claims

Power requirement
Power consumption for thermal printers is fairly high. To ensure good printing result it is recommended to
use a power supply that can provide at least 7.5 A peak (@26.4V). Recommendations are based on meas-
urements at the worst case condition of 26.4V supply voltage while printing a blackline.
Insufcient power supply will cause poor printing quality and may result in a reset of the controller board.
The power supply cable should provide adequate cross section and should be as short as possible.
Paper quality
It is recommended to use approved paper only. Low quality paper can signicantly reduce the life time of
printing head and auto cutter.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning is strongly recommended. To clean the thermal head please use a cotton swab and Iso-
propanol. Using cleaners or chemicals other than Isopropanol may result in the damage of the printer. No
cleaning can signicantly reduce the life time of the printing head.

USB Version
WHQL-certied USB drivers as well as further drivers for the usual operating systems are available on re-
quest or can be found at the webpage of the USB-controller's manufacturer:
http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm
After the installation of the driver it is possible to communicate with the printer either over a virtual COM-
port (the set Baudrate does not matter) or via a software API, which is realized as a DLL and available for C/
C++, C#, VB and Delphi. Whenever possible, the DLL should be used.
Further information for the API are included in the driver package.
The programmed serial number of the USB-controller is '8U00060A'.
