PREFACE

Confeo Premix high-efficiency condensing boilers h ve been designed to provide efficient, s fe nd

comfort ble centr l he ting (CH) nd domestic hot w ter (DHW).

This section of the m nu l cont ins user’s oper ting instructions. Ple se re d the instructions

c refully before oper ting the boiler to m ximise efficiency nd benefit from the boilers

specific tion .

g inst m nuf cturing nd m teri l defect subject to the following terms & conditions.

The gu r ntee consists of 1 ye r p rts nd l bour w rr nty, which is extended to 2 ye rs free

of ch rge, provided the boiler is registered within 60 days of installation. W rr nty

registr tion c rds m y be returned by post, or register online t www.ec he ting.com to

v lid te this w rr nty extension. Unregistered boilers re subject to 1 ye r w rr nty or 2

ye rs from d te of m nuf cture which ever is the sooner.

Inst ll tion must be in ccord nce with the inst ll tion nd servicing instruction's, British

st nd rds nd g s s fety regul tions. Benchm rk Checklist p ge 56 of inst ll tion & service

instruction's must be completed by your inst ller.

registered engineer in UK or competent person in IE.

The Benchmark Scheme

ECA Heating is a licensed member of the Benchmark Scheme which aims to improve the standards of installation

and commissioning of domestic heating and hot water systems in the UK and to encourage regular servicing to

optimise safety efficiency and performance. Benchmark is managed and promoted by the Heating and Hot water

Please ensure that the installer has fully completed the Benchmark Checklist on page 56 of the installation

instructions supplied with this product and that you have signed it to say that you have received a full and clear

explanation of its operation. The installer is legally required to complete a commissioning checklist as a means of

complying with the appropriate Building Regulations (England and Wales).All installations must be notified to

Local Area Building Control either directly or through a Competent Persons Scheme. A Building Regulations

Compliance Certificate will then be issued to the customer who should on receipt write the Notification Number

on the Benchmark Checklist. This product should be serviced regularly to optimise its safety efficiency and

performance. The service engineer should complete the relevant Service Record on the Benchmark Checklist after

each service. The Benchmark Checklist may be required in the event of any warranty work and as supporting

documentation relating to home improvements in the optional documents section of the Home Information Pack.

Oper ting The Boiler

Start Up / Shut Off The Boiler

Turn the ON/OFF switch to ‘ ON ’ position. LCD displ y will turn

ON nd, Power-on sequence will be monitored for sever l

seconds. After the power-on sequence is completed successfully,

By djusting the CH control knob, summer or winter mode

c n be selected.

a) Summer mode

Rot te the CH control knob to the ‘  ’ position. In this

summer mode, CH mode is off, only DHW c n be supplied.

b) Winter mode

Rot te the CH control knob to the ‘  ’ position.

Adjust the CH w ter flow temper ture between 30 oC nd

80 oC with the CH control knob. The setpoint v lue

ppe rs on the LCD displ y when the left dot is fl shing.

After 10 seconds, ctu l CH w ter temper ture will ppe r

inste d of the setpoint nd left dot dis ppe rs. The boiler

will modul te to the desired temper ture. If hot w ter

t p is opened, DHW mode will interrupt the CH mode (hot

w ter priority) until DHW requirement ce ses .

In c se of f iled ignition, utom tic ignition sequence is

repe ted 3 times. If ll ignition ttempts f il, “ No fl me

sign l” lockout occurs. The burner LED will turn RED nd

error code “ 4 ” will fl sh on the LCD displ y to indic te

this error condition. Press the reset push-button to turn

b ck the norm l oper tion g in. If the lockout

condition continues fter pressing the reset push-button,

continue to p ge 6 for , F ult finding.

DHW (Domestic Hot W ter) Mode

It is possible to h ve domestic hot w ter when:

) The ppli nce is in st ndby-by mode or, Fig 8

b) CH mode is ctive. DHW h s priority over CH

mode.

Ensure control knob is not in DHW c ncell tion zone.

Turn ON hot t p to st rt DHW mode

Turn OFF the hot t p to stop DHW mode. The boiler

goes b ck to the previous mode.

Domestic hot w ter temper ture c n be djusted between

35 oC nd 60 oC with the DHW control knob. The setpoint

DHW temper ture ppe rs on the LCD displ y nd left dot

is fl shing. (fig 9)

After 10 seconds, ctu l CH w ter temper ture will ppe r

inste d of the setpoint nd left dot dis ppe rs. Boiler will

modul te to the desired temper ture (fig. 10).

Comfort Mode (DHW Preheat function) / Economy Mode

Comfort Mode m int ins the DHW pl te he t exch nger in prehe ted condition dependent upon

us ge p tterns to ensure f st delivery of hot w ter. Prehe t cycle typic lly l st less th n 1 minute. In

economy Mode DHW prehe t function is c ncelled.

To select Comfort Mode, turn the DHW temper ture

control knob fully clockwise nd then b ck to the desired

DHW temper ture setting within 3 seconds. St tus LED

Comfort mode will ON.

To select economy mode, i.e. without DHW prehe t, do the s me ction g in (turn the DHW

temper ture control knob fully clockwise nd then b ck to the desired DHW temper ture setting

within 3 seconds). St tus LED Comfort mode will OFF.

DHW Cancellation Function

DHW mode h s priority over CH mode, but DHW c n be turned off. Turn DHW control knob

(fig. 8) fully nti clockwise. In DHW c ncell tion zone, it is not possible to h ve domestic hot w ter

even if hot w ter t p is open.

System Pressure Fig 12

System pressure should be within the r nge of 0.8 b r –

1.5 b r when boiler is cold (for outside this r nge, see

below). This pressure will incre se s the system becomes

hot up to m ximum pressure of 3 b r. To check system

pressure, on / off switch must be set to ON position.

Depress button (fig 1) system pressure will be displ yed for 10 seconds.

System Re-filling

If w ter pressure f lls below 0.6 b r, re-filling will be required, this is likely to occur if r di tors re

removed / vented or system le k ge h s occured. To re-fill

1. Turn DHW & CH control knobs fully nticlockwise. Le ve on / off control knob switched

on.

2. Loc te your system filling loop. This is below your boiler on the right h nd side, where the

v lves re.

3. Remove v lve plug ends nd fit tempor ry filling loop pipe (A) fig 13

4. Open t ps 1 & 2 slowly nd llow w ter to flow

5. Press w ter pressure button on control p nel nd monitor pressure incre se

6. Fill when cold to pproxim tely 1 b r. (cold r nge 0.6 – 1.5 b r) once re ched turn off filling

loop t ps. If w ter goes over pressure, reduce by dr ining sm ll mount from he ting

system dr in offs.

7. Remove filling loop copper pipe (A), refit plug ends nd reset DHW & CH control knobs to

required temper tures.

Frost Protection

The bolier will go on nd off utom tic lly depend nt upon boiler w ter temper ture to protect the

w ter circuits g inst freezing. When the ppli nce is in st nd-by mode if the system w ter

temper ture is less th n 5 °C, the boiler st rts s if there w s CH dem nd until 19 °C is re ched.

: The appliance must be on stand-by mode to activate frost protection system.

Service Mode

Service mode should only be used by qu lified engineer.

Should the boiler be put into service mode ccident lly,

turn CH control to off position for 20 seconds then b ck to

required temper ture. If left service mode will termin te

utom tic lly fter 10 minutes.

User Self Help Fault Guide

This guide is intended for user's self help only. For technic l in depth f ult finding ple se see

inst ll tion & service instructions.

Your Confeo Premix boiler h s built in self checking function nd f ult di gnosis displ y. These

f ult codes will help to interpret the n ture of f ult. Some f ults conditions will be reset by pressing

the Reset Push-button / Burner LED (fig 1) which will be RED if f ult condition occurs or

by n utom tic reset if f ult is corrected.
