General information
Reading and storing the user guide
This user guide accompanies this bathroom scale. It contains important
information on handling and care.
Before using the bathroom scale, read the user guide carefully. This
particularly applies to the safety notes. Failure to follow the instructions in this
user guide may result in severe injury or damage to the bathroom scale.
Store the user guide for future use. If you pass the bathroom scale on to a third
party, please be absolutely sure to include this user guide.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user guide, on the
bathroom scale or on the packaging.
WARNING!
This signal symbol/word designates a hazard with moderate risk, which may
result in death or severe injury if not avoided.
CAUTION!
This signal symbol/word designates a hazard with low risk, which may result in
minor or moderate injury if not avoided.
NOTICE!
This signal word warns of possible damage to property.
This symbol provides you with useful additional information on
handling and use.
If you step onto the standing surface with wet feet or if the standing
surface itself is wet, there is a risk of slipping.

Proper use
The bathroom scale is exclusively designed for measuring body weight.
It is exclusively intended for private use and is not suitable for commercial or
medical applications.
Only use the bathroom scale as described in this user guide. Any other use is
deemed improper and may result in damage to property or even personal
injury. The bathroom scale is not a children’s toy.
The manufacturer or vendor accepts no liability for damage caused by
improper or incorrect use.
Safety notes
WARNING!
Risk of injury!
If you do not use the bathroom scale properly, there is an
increased risk of injury.
− Do not use the bathroom scale if it exhibits visible
damages or if the battery has leaked.
− Do not open the housing of the bathroom scale; instead,
have qualified professionals perform the repairs. Contact
a qualified workshop for this. Liability and warranty claims
are waived in the event of repairs performed by the user
or incorrect operation.
− Do not submerge the bathroom scale in water or other
liquids.
− Only use the bathroom scale indoors. Do not operate it in
the rain.
− Never store the bathroom scale such that there is a risk of
it falling in a tub or sink.
− Do not insert any objects in the housing of the bathroom
scale.

Danger for children and persons with impaired physical,
sensory or mental capacities (e.g. partially disabled persons,
older persons with reduced physical and mental capacities)
or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children).
− This bathroom scale may be used by children ages eight
and over as well as persons with impaired physical,
sensory or mental capacities or those lacking experience
and knowledge if they are supervised or have been
instructed in how to safely use the bathroom scale and
have understood the risks associated with using it.
Children may not play with the bathroom scale. Cleaning
and user maintenance must not be performed by
unsupervised children.
− Keep children under 8 years of age away from the
bathroom scale.
− Do not allow children to play with the packaging wrapper.
They may get caught in it when playing and suffocate.

Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the bathroom scale may damage it.
− Place the bathroom scale on a level, dry and sufficiently
stable surface.
− Never expose the bathroom scale to high temperatures
(heaters etc.) or to the effects of the weather (rain etc.).
Never fill the housing with liquids.
− Do not use the bathroom scale if the housing exhibits
cracks or breaks or is deformed.
− Do not step on the standing surface of the bathroom scale
with two or more persons.

Health hazard!
If children or animals swallow the battery, there is a high
health hazard.
− Store the battery so that they are not accessible for
children and animals.
− Immediately dispose of used and leaky battery in
accordance with the applicable guidelines.
− If you suspect a battery to have been swallowed, seek
immediate medical attention.
WARNING!
Risk of explosion!
Improper handling of the battery increases the explosion
hazard.
− Do not expose the battery to excessive heat such as from
sunshine, fire and the like.
− Only replace the battery by a battery of the same type.
− Ensure that the battery is inserted the right way round,
i.e. observe the polarity (+ and –).

Checking the bathroom scale and product contents
1. Take the bathroom scale out of the packaging and check whether the
bathroom scale or individual parts exhibit damages. If this is the case,
do not use the bathroom scale. Contact the manufacturer using the service
address specified on the guarantee card.
2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see Fig. A).
