● When the key is in the horizontal position the door is closed and the key can be removed.

● If the unit is to be left permanently open and accessible to all (daytime operation), turn the key 90° to the right to the vertical posi-

tion and remove it.

● Do not store the keys in reach of children or near the refrigerator.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

FUNCTIONING OF THE LOCK

ELECTRONIC SUMMARY

● Before carrying out the electrical connection of the equipment, make sure that the data stated on the data plate (in the top left on

the internal container or on the back side) correspond to the local values. It is important to connect the equipment to a ground

clamp.

● Before connecting the equipment and activating it for the first time, it must be in a vertical position for about 30 minutes. If the equip-

ment was transported horizontally, wait 4 hours.

● To avoid the equipment not functioning due to any breakdowns to other electrical equipment it is necessary to be connected to a

separate electrical circuit. In no case must it be connected together with other electrical equipment by means of a multiple plug, to

a single electrical outlet.

SWITCHING ON

● To operate the equipment turn the key switch on the command panel to the „ON“ position. In this position the key can be taken

out to avoid the equipment from disconnecting by mistake.

● Upon ignition all the LEDs light up constantly for about 5 seconds. The acoustic alarm is simultaneously activated and the following

temperature value appears on the screen .

● Following this initialization only the green LED remains lit. It indicates that the equipment is connected and that it is live. The present

temperature inside the refrigerator appears on the screen now and corresponds to room temperature after ignition. As the display

shows temperatures in a particular range only, temperatures below this range are shown with and above with .

● After the first ignition check the correct functioning of the equipment and if the set temperature is reached after 24 hours.

● Upon the first ignition the alarm remains inactive until the internal temperature reaches the set value. Only after this occurs is the

alarm active.

● When switching the appliance off with the key switch, all parameters of the electronics are set back to factory settings.

● By „Alarm-Set“ we mean the maximum and minimum admissible internal temperature. It can be modified as follows, according to

needs :

For /35-models : Alarm COLD = minimum value set: -55°C , maximum value set: 5° below the „Temp-Set“.

Alarm WARM = maximum value set: -15°C, minimum value set: 5° above the „Temp-Set“.

For /86-models : Alarm COLD = minimum value set: -95°C, maximum value set: 5° below the „Temp-Set“.

Alarm WARM = maximum value set: -65°C, minimum value set: 5° above the „Temp-Set“.

● By pressing the relative WARM and COLD keys the „Alarm-Set“ values set can be detected. The relative „WARM-alarm“ or „COLD-

alarm“ LEDs light up while the set temperature is displayed. The following values have been preset:

For /35-models : Alarm COLD : -40°C Alarm WARM : -30°C

For /86-models : Alarm COLD : -87°C Alarm WARM : -77°C

● In the setting of the „Alarm-Set“ proceed as follows:

● Alarm-Cold = Press the “SET” and “COLD” key at the same time; the

“Alarm-Cold” LED lights up and the temperature changes in 1ºC stages

from the set value up to the end value. Once this value has been reached,

the display moves back to the original value. In order to set a value, sim-

ply release the keys once the temperature required is displayed.

● Alarm-Warm = Press the “SET” and “WARM” key at the same time; the

“Alarm-Warm” LED lights up and the temperature changes in 1ºC stages

from the set value up to the end value. Once this value has been reached,

the display moves back to the original value. In order to set a value, sim-

ply release the keys once the temperature required is displayed.

● By „Temp-Set“ we mean the desired internal temperature of the refrige-

rator. This temperature has been preset in the factory. If needed it can be

adjusted. Such adjustment must be done by a technician from the

Service Centre. If the „Temp-Set“ is changed, the „Alarm-Sets“ change

automatically.

● In order to be able to detect the „Temp-Set“ set, press the „SET“ key. The

„Temp-Set“ LED will light up and the „Temp-Set“ value set will be dis-

played as long as the „SET“ key remains pressed.

●The measurement of the internal refrigerator temperature is carried out by means of 2 sensors placed inside the refrigerator. The

temperature indicated comes from the average value of the two temperatures measured. To prevent the air temperature being mea-

sured in this case instead of the temperature of the goods being stored, the two sensors are embedded in a reference unit which

is filled with liquid. This simulates the temperature time lag found in the goods.

●The temperature alarm is activated when :

●the average value of the two temperatures detected does not fall in the set area (COLD alarm - WARM alarm),

●one of the two detected temperatures does not fall in the set area even if the average value is within the acceptable margin,

●both of the values do not fall in the margin

● When the alarm starts there is an audible alarm and the respective alarm-LED starts to flash

(Alarm-COLD or Alarm-WARM). On the display the temperatures of the two sensors appear suc-

cessively at regular second intervals.

● By pressing the „RES“ key the audible alarm is discontinued, the flickering light display of the two

temperature values indicated by the sensors continues as well as the flashing function of the

alarm LED until the temperature irregularity is eliminated. If this does not happen within 20 minu-

tes the audible alarm goes off again.

● The alarm turns off automatically as soon as the temperature goes back to the normal values. To

warn the operator of the fact that the alarm has gone off, the LED-Mem continues to flash until

the temperature is read by means of the Memory function.

● The maximum and minimum temperature shown after the last ignition can be determined with the

help of the „Memory“ function. For this purpose press the „MEM“ and „WARM“ keys simulta-

neously for the maximum temperature and „MEM“ and „COLD“ for the minimum temperature.

The „Memory-COLD“ or the“Memory-Max“ LED turns on displaying the relative value.

● To cancel the memorized values press the „MEM“ and „RES“ keys simultaneously. The „Memory“

LEDs turn on and the two values are cancelled.

● If the voltage should be discontinued (for having disconnected the plug or due to a breakdown in the safety

valve), the green LED turns off on the command panel and the red LED begins to blink. Furthermore, the

audible alarm is activated. It can be deactivated temporarily with the „RES“ key.

● During the „AC-fail“ phase no temperature is displayed. The temperature measurement continues and the maxi-

mum and minimum values can be recalled as soon as the network voltage is present (see „Memory“).

● When the network voltage is missing the set data cannot be modified or cancelled.

● If during this phase there is a temperature increase the „WARM-Alarm“ LED as well as the red „AC-FAIL“ LED

will flash.

ALARM REASONS

DEFROSTING

EXTERNAL ALARM FUNCTION

● As already previously described two types of alarm can be distinguished: a temperature alarm and the „AC-Fail“ alarm.

● The sounding of the AC-fail alarm can happen for the following reasons:

●plug disconnected from the outlet

●outlet without electricity (faulty safety valve, lack of electricity, etc.)

● When there is a temperature alarm, check for the following possible causes:

●Has the door been left open longer than necessary, causing an increase in the internal temperature?

●Have too many hot or cold products been placed in the refrigerator at the same time?

●Have products with packages that have been heated been placed in the refrigerator?

●Has a layer of ice formed on the evaporator plate (at the back inside)? This would mean that the defrosting does not work and

that the equipment is not able to supply sufficient cooling power.

●Is the room temperature too high, that is, over 32°C?

● If the cause of the alarm cannot be immediately eliminated, there is the danger that the products become too hot or too cold. In

this case it is recommended to empty the refrigerator and put the contents in other equipment.

● Check the functioning of the refrigerator after having eliminated all the described causes. Warn the Assistance Service if after a cer-

tain period of time the temperature values do not go back to normal.

● On the back of the electronic circuit there are two potential-free outlets that can be used to command an external alarm system.

These outlets are guided to two sockets at the rear of the refrigerator where an external optical or acou-

stical alarm can be connected.

● The external alarm function only reports a temperature alarm. An AC-Fail alarm is not indicated.

● The two potential-free outlets are related to a make-contact.

● The connected voltage must not exceed 30V DC. The current is limited to 2A.

● In the electronic part an accumulator is included. Iif there is a of lack of electricity, it carries out the alarm and temperature measu-

rement functions for a maximum of 22 hours.

● This accumulator is charged automatically, as soon as the equipment plug is connected.

● The accumulator should be replaced every three years. The replacement must be carried out only by the Technical Service Centre.

ACCUMULATOR

max. 32 DC

2 A

● Excessive frosting-over of the evaporator prevents the appliance’s cold chamber from refrigerating and reduces refrigeration capa-

city. Regular defrosting is therefore essential.

● Models MRF400/35 and MRF600/35 are fitted with an automa-

tic defroster. To ensure optimum defrosting, the built-in defrosting

dial should be set to the present time before commissioning and

after the appliance has been switched off for a long time (over

one hour).

● All other appliances should be defrosted manually once a layer of ice over 1 cm thick has formed.

● For defrosting, proceed as follows:

Re-store products in another appliance. Set the locking switch to the ‘OFF’ position and, with the door open, wait until the ice has

melted.

● After defrosting, the inside of the appliance should be thoroughly cleaned and dried.

actual time

- 10 -

● For MRF400/35 and MRF600/35 :

As an option, these appliances may come provided with 4 mobile transport rol-

lers. In this case, both of the front rollers will be fitted with a locking device.

● To lock the brake push the pedal towards the bottom and to unlock it push the

smallest lever forward.

● Warning : The brake must be locked or unlocked using only feet.

● Appliances MRF240, MRF480, MRF401 and MRF601 may be safeguarded

from moving away by adjusting both locking screws.

WHEELS

● By means of the temperature recorder for a certain time interval the course of the temperature is recorded. The time can be pro-

grammed according to needs, at 24 hours or 7 days.

● Before starting up, it is recommened to check the set time in the following manner: raise the lever with the pen point, loosen the

lock nut on the recorder axis and remove the recorder disk. Pull the recorder axis and remove the attachment from the housing.

On the side of the attachment there is the switch with which you can set the desired time.

● The disks for the two time intervals are different from each other. Check if the suitable disk has been inserted.

● The recorder horology is fed by a 1.5 V battery which is found in the lower part of the recorder attachment.

● To replace the pen point, remove the old one from the bracket and insert the new one until it stops. Avoid touching the point with

your hands.

TEMPERATURE RECORDER

● To clean the refrigerator use delicate detergents. Completely avoid the use of

aggressive or corrosive products, abrasive powder, steel wool, abrasive spon-

ges or chemical solvents.

● The condenser (if not lathered) should be dusted twice per year with a hand

brush or a vacuum cleaner. The condenser is located at the rear end or under

the cover, depending on the model.

● For /86 appliances, a filter is located behind the ventilation grille, which should

be regularly dusted with a hand brush or a vacuum cleaner.
