Why Fishman?
Fishman has been the leader in acoustic amplification since 1981, finding early success as the
premier maker of acoustic pickups and preamps for Martin, Gibson, Fender, Guild, and many
more. Today, Fishman creates musical tools for professionals in all styles, completing the
signal chain with Pickups, Preamps, Tone Shaping products, Acoustic Amplifiers and products
for electric instruments. Wherever you hear music - in arenas, studios, or living rooms - you’ll
hear Fishman!
What is TriplePlay?
TriplePlay is a wireless guitar controller that converts notes into MIDI so your guitar can seam-
lessly interact with most music software and hardware. MIDI allows your guitar to sound like
thousands of different instruments - real or imagined. Triple Play ships with a complete suite
of software, and can be easily installed or removed on almost any electric guitar.
What can I do with TriplePlay?
Compose
• Create notation in standard or tab formats just by playing
• Create lesson plans that students can see and hear as they’re meant to be played
Perform
• Create a wide variety of unique sounds, samples and effects. Fire your keyboardist, DJ,
drummer, bass player, or accordionist!
• Play multiple instruments at once by splitting the fretboard, or blending your guitar’s
pickups with synth tones
Record
• TriplePlay includes the Studio One Artist Digital Audio Workstation, but works with any
DAW that recognizes MIDI
• Use your guitar to create multi-track arrangements with drums, bass, keys, horns, strings,
voices and more

Features and Benefits
Common Questions
“Doesn’t Fishman make acoustic gear?”
• Fishman is best known for acoustic gear, but they’ve been working with electric guitars,
electric guitar bridges, stompboxes, and related items for a long time.
“Will I still need a regular guitar cable?”
• Yes, if you want to use the regular pickups in your guitar. No, if you only want to use synth sounds
and samples.
“All this software talk sounds complicated…is it hard to work?”
• It’s actually pretty easy. Triple Play is designed for simplicity…the idea is to play music, not
twiddle knobs.
“Will it work with the software I already own?”
• TriplePlay works seamlessly with most third party software and hardware.

TriplePlay Software Overview
TRIPLEPLAY
Wireless Guitar Controller
Perform Window
A. Patch Readout Area. Here you preview, select, load, and save
your TriplePlay patches. (A “patch” is a snapshot of a TriplePlay
setup, whose info includes your choice of instruments, fretboard
layout, and other parameters.)
B. Sensitivity/Tuner Area. This area doubles as a tuner and a cali-
bration tool that ne-tunes TriplePlay to suit your playing style.
C. Mixer Area. A virtual mixing board for adjusting the levels,
panning, and solo/mute status of the guitar and synth sounds
that comprise each patch.
D. Fretboard/Edit Splits Area. Displays each note you play in real time. It’s also where you create
“splits” — patches that assign different sounds to different parts of the fretboard.
E. Pull-Down Menus. Here you set your TriplePlay preferences, check for software updates, and call
up various views and windows.
Calibrating string sensitivity. In the center of the interface is a set of meters
for adjusting the dynamic sensitivity for each string. As you play, each string’s
corresponding meter lights up. Using the up and down arrows beneath the word
“Strong,” set the sensitivity for each string so that only your loudest notes send
the meter to the top of its range. These settings are scaled from 1 to 16, with 16
representing maximum sensitivity. Don’t be surprised if your settings vary from
string to string.
Tuning up. This area doubles as a tuner. Just click the switch beneath the word
“Sustain” to tune up, and then click it again when you’re done.
Audio hardware settings. If you’re using a dedicated audio interface, go to
TriplePlay’s pull-down Options menu and select Preferences to verify that your
interface is selected as the input and output device.
Make some sounds! To audition the factory sounds, simply click the up/down
arrows in the upper-left corner of the interface, next to the patch name and then
press the “Audition” button.
Next Steps. There’s much more to TriplePlay than we can cover in this brief overview. See our online
documentation at www.shman.com/tripleplay for more details.
