Furuno FSV-8503 Leitfaden

This document covers how to replace the motherboard in the processor unit (FSV-2503/FSV-3503/
FSV-8503).
Note: The transceiver unit may require a software update after replacement. Download the software up-
date file for the transceiver unit from FURUNO Tech-Net as necessary.
Prepare an appropriate motherboard replacement kit depending on your processor unit.
The motherboard replacement kit contains the following items:
When you replace the motherboard, the SSD (or HDD) must be upgraded to a new SSD, which is included
in the motherboard replacement kit. Therefore, export the setting file and still images in the old SSD (or
HDD) to a USB flash memory BEFORE replacing the motherboard.
This procedure requires connection to the transceiver unit. If not connected, the error message
“<<NO RESPONSE FROM TRANSCEIVER UNIT!! >>” appears and you cannot operate the sonar.
1. Press the power switch on the control unit to turn the system on.
2. Open the menu and select [Others] →[Initial Setting] →[Initialization] →[Save Ship’s Org] to
save all menu settings.
3. Insert the USB flash memory to the USB port on the processor unit.
Note: It is recommended that you use a USB flash memory whose memory capacity is 64 GB
or more, because the processor unit may include still images as well as the setting file.
4. While pressing and holding down the MENU/ESC key, press F1, F3, F5 in order.
5. Close, then re-open the menu. Press the MENU/ESC key twice.
The system menu appears.
6. Select [Others] →[Explorer].
