with the hinge on the left. The door hinge can be
converted to the right-hand side.
roceed as follows:
– lace the frame on the door using a suitable soft
pad.
– Remove the four securing screws of the bottom
trim of the built-in frame (Ain Fig. 1).
– You can now detach the door and the bottom trim
from the built-in frame.

of the door journal (Bin Fig. 1). Secure the
stopper in the opposite hole.

bottom trim back on the built-in frame.

detach the door handle.

shake the door to and fro. The glass window can
be removed towards you (Fig. 3).

Fitting the built-in frame
roceed as follows:
– Secure the base plate on the intermediate shelf of
the built-in cabinet with the four included wood
screws (Fig. 4). To do this, use the template on
page 47.
– Screw the air baffle onto the upper side of the
recess in the appliance:
Distance from cabinet front to hole:
340 mm
Distance from left cabinet side to left hole:
80 mm
Note:
before connecting the appliance, make sure that
the voltage specified on the rating plate agrees
with your household installation voltage.
– Connect the microwave unit to the power mains
and place it on the base plate in the built-in
cabinet. To fit the front door, push the appliance
a little towards the rear in the built-in cabinet.
9
The ER 212 built-in frame can be combined
with the Gaggenau E 119 microwave unit.
Other combinations are not permissible and
may damage the microwave unit or the built-in
cabinet.
Observe the assembly instructions. The ven-
tilation slot shown in the installation drawing
must be produced in the built-in cabinet.
The microwave unit may only be installed with
a permanently fitted intermediate shelf meas-
uring at least 16 mm (between oven and micro-
wave unit) and the intended base plate.
Explanations of the drilling template on page 47
A – Left cabinet side
B – Right cabinet side
C– Cut off here if the cabinet wall is 22 mm thick
D– Cut off here if the cabinet wall is 19 mm thick
E – Cut off here if the cabinet wall is 16 mm thick
F – Face side of the cabinet wall
G– Outer cabinet wall
H – Centre of hole for base plate
Fig. 4
Face side of the cabinet wall
– Make sure that the air baffle lies on the top of the
appliance with its padded side.
– If the side walls of your built-in cabinet are less
than 22 mm thick, you must stick the included
spacers behind the four side holes in the front
door:
Side wall = 19 mm/spacer 3 mm
Side wall = 16 mm/spacer 6 mm
– Fit the built-in frame in the door recess so that it
lies at the bottom on the intermediate shelf.
– At the sides, firmly screw in the built-in frame in
the built-in cabinet with the four included wood
screws (Fig. 5).
– Now pull the microwave unit on the base plate so
far towards you that the feet of the microwave unit
stand in the recesses of the base plate.
– Check whether the door opens and closes easily.
If the door does not open and close easily after
assembly you can adjust the door by loosening
the four screws A.
