Safety information and general warnings
•Read these instructions fully and make sure you understand the manual
and labels affixed to the pole chainsaw before use.
•This appliance is approved solely for use in accordance with the
description and safety instructions specified in this user manual.
•Before starting work ensure that the area is cleared of any obstacles.
Always keep your work area clear.
•Never wear loose clothing, shorts or jewellery whilst using the pole
chainsaw and wear closed, solid shoes with a good grip.
•Wear appropriate personal protective clothing during use, such as eye
and hearing protection.
•Do not overreach. Always keep a firm footing and maintain your balance
during operation. Do not use the pole chainsaw whilst on a ladder.
•Do not use the pole chainsaw close to flammable materials or in dry dusty
environments.
•Store in a cool dry place away from animals and children.
•Check the pole chainsaw and cable regularly for any damage before
use, do not use if it has been dropped or damaged.
•Suitable for outdoor use only.
•Do not use in wet weather, wet areas or in areas where gases or other
flammable materials are stored.
•Not suitable for use in frozen or snowy conditions.
•Do not use in wet or windy conditions.
•If operating the product in damp conditions is unavoidable, use a residual
current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
•Only use an approved extension cable suitable for the power input of the
machine, the minimum conductor size is 1.5mm2.
•When using a cable reel, always unwind the reel completely.
•Inadequate extension cords can be dangerous. If an extension cord is
used, it must be suitable for outdoor use, and the connection must be
kept dry and off the ground.
•Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
•Keep the pole chainsaw in good clean condition.
•Do not use the pole chainsaw if you are tired or under the influence of
drugs or alcohol.

•Do not operate the pole chainsaw near electrical cables, telephone lines,

•If the pole chainsaw strikes a foreign object, turn it off immediately and
check for damage.
•Do not put hands, feet or any other body part or clothing near the blades.

To reduce the risk of injury, users must read and understand the
instruction manual before using this product.
Wear gloves when operating this equipment.
Wear ear and eye protection and a hard hat when operating.
Remove the plug from the mains immediately if the cable is damaged
or cut.
Do not expose the machine to rain or wet conditions.
Keep all bystanders (especially children and pets) at least 15m away
from the work area.
Switch off and remove it from the power source before adjusting,
cleaning and before leaving the product unattended for any period.

Please note: The cutting edges of the chain are sharp. Wear protective
gloves when handling.

Lay the chain head on a flat surface and, using the hex key supplied, remove
the guide bar screw, washer and spring washer, turning anti-clockwise. Lift the
sprocket cover off.
Turn the adjusting screw anti-clockwise until the adjusting block is in the middle
of the adjusting plate. This will allow you to position the adjusting hole on the
guide bar, onto the adjusting block.
Position the guide bar onto the adjusting plate with the large slot onto the
protrusions. Position the rear of the guide bar between the adjusting plate and
the sprocket. Make sure that you insert the adjusting block into the adjusting
hold on the guide bar.

Place the chain around the drive sprocket, then along the top groove of the
guide bar and around the guide bar nose.
Please note: Make sure that the cutting edges of the chain are facing in the
right direction. Position the chain so that the cutting edges on top of the
guide bar face the guide bar nose.
Extension pole and harness
Loosen and remove the locking dial on the rear pole, then pull the extension
pole out about 30cm (1ft) and connect to the front pole. Ensure it is fully
slotted in and engaged; otherwise the power will not be connected.
Note: the protrusion on the extension pole must fit into the slot on the front
pole and be pushed in fully for the chainsaw to operate, it can only be
assembled one way. When connected, tighten both locking dials.

are not connected correctly, there
will be intermittent or no power. If this
is so, check the connection is fully
engaged.

Adjusting the chain tension
Adjust the tension of the chain using the hex key supplied. Replace the
sprocket cover following the above steps, in reverse, tighten the guide bar
screw slightly.
Please note: Hold the chain guide bar with one hand and turn the adjusting
screw clockwise until there is only slight movement in the chain around one
eighth of an inch. Then fully tighten the guide bar screw.
Adjusting the angle
The angle of the power head can be set to three different working positions:
0°, 15° and 30°. Push the adjust button with one hand and turn the power
head around to suitable position. The adjust button will lock automatically.
Adding chain oil
Before using the chain saw it is necessary to add chain oil (supplied) and
after every 10 minutes of use, check the level and top up as required.
Remove the oil cap from the top of the main body. Fill with oil supplied and
replace the cap, ensuring it’s securely fastened.

Instructions for use
•Once you have read the instructions and assembled your pole
chainsaw, choose an area that you wish to work on.
•Plug the power cord into a suitable socket and switch the socket on.
•Put the harness over your shoulder and ensure it is comfortable. Hold
the main handle and depress the on/off switch. The pole chainsaw will
start to work.
•Practice on a small branch first and move the blade to the area slowly
until it begins to cut.
Additional safety guidance
Never stand directly under the
branch you are trimming.
Always position yourself out of the
path of falling debris.
Never stand on a ladder or other
type of unstable support while using
this product.
Always use both hands to operate
the pole chainsaw. Keep a firm,
steady grip on the product while
cutting but do not try to force the
product.
Do not use the pole chainsaw to
cut branches larger in diameter
than the length of the guide bar.
Keep other people away from
cutting end of the pole chainsaw
and at a safe distance from the
working area.
Do not use the pole chainsaw near
cable, electric power or telephone
cables.
Maintain a minimum clearance of
10 metres from all power lines.
