2 INSTALLATION
2.1 MAKING VIDEO CONNECTIONS
Note: With the Xposure technology, both the BNC (composite) and S-video (Y/C video)
connections provide sharper images of all scenes (especially high-contrast scenes). The
S-video connection, however, provides even greater clarity over the BNC connection.
See Figure 2 and perform the following:
Coaxial cable with BNCs
between MON.OUT and
test or local monitor
Coaxial cable with BNCs
between VIDEO OUT
and monitor, multiplexer,
or switcher
S-video cable between
S-VIDEO and monitor
Figure 2. Video connections
Note: You can connect up
to three monitors (or
devices) to each camera.
1) Connect a coaxial cable terminated with BNC connectors between
the MON.OUT connector of the camera and the video in connector
on a test or local monitor.
2) Connect a coaxial cable terminated with BNC connectors between
the VIDEO OUT connector of the camera and the video in
connector on a monitor, multiplexer, switcher, or other standard
video device.
3) Connect an S-video (Y/C video) cable between the S-VIDEO
connector of the camera and the video in connector on a high-
resolution surveillance monitor.
Note: If you’re not seeing the video quality that you expect with the S-video
connection, consult your company’s S-video technician.
