DANGER
TO REDUCE T E RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC S OCK,
CAREFULLY FOLLOW T ESE INSTRUCTIONS.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect power to the 120V
electrical outlet before installing or removing the unit. When removing the
electrical wall plate, it may fall across plug pins or become displaced.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this product has a grounding type plug
that has a third (grounding) pin. This plug will only fit into a grounding
type power outlet. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, contact a
qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in
any way.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
4
The OSWDN On/Off switcher features two 120V outputs to supply
power to equipment either during the day only or during the night only.
This plug-in module is similar to Grozone OSW except that OSW Trigger
Cord has been removed and replaced by a photocell; therefore, the On/
Off outputs are controlled by day-night conditions, instead of being con-
trolled by a voltage applied to the trigger cord.
TYPICAL USE
1– For DAY/NIGHT C ntr l : if you need to control your equipment during
the DAY or during the NIG T only, then plug your equipment as follows:
- In the upper output to turn the equipment «On during the DAY ONLY»
- In the lower output to turn the equipment «On during the NIG T ONLY»
2– TO FIX a DAY/NIGHT Detecti n Pr blem : you can also use this module
to connect a controller without a photocell, or a controller having problem
detecting day or night conditions correctly in the grow room : the OSWDN
has a day-night sensitivity level setting that allows you to define the
amount of light needed to detect a day or a night condition meeting your
specific grow room conditions.
SPECIFICATIONS
•
Two 120V outputs : upper output is ON while lower output is OFF
and vice versa.
•
Total current for both outputs : 15A maximum.
•
Photocell in a clear plastic dome to allow light detection 360°.
•
Day-night level setting on the side of the module, to set the pho-
tocell sensitivity to your grow room conditions.

OPERATION AND OPTIONAL SETTING
5
OPERATION AND OPTIONAL SETTING
Just plug your equipment into the top or bottom plug and you’re set!
Your equipment will toggle ON or OFF as soon as the lights in your room
will switch ON or OFF.
Grozone OSWDN photocell sensitivity is factory set for proper Day-
Night detection. If the DAY-Night detection works just fine in your grow
room, do not touch to the DAY-NIG T LEVEL SETTING. If the DAY-NIG T
detection is not properly set, read the instructions below.
The user can m dify the ph t cell sensitivity t perate in a DARK
DAY r a CLEAR NIGHT c nditi n.
•
What is a DARK DAY c nditi n? A dark day condition is met when
the light level during the day is darker than factory set day level.
This situation may occur if your module is connected as the bot-
tom of a wall in a dark section of your grow room or in the
shadow of larger equipment. In this case, the controller may not
detect day condition even though the lights are on in the grow
room.
SETTING THE DAY-NIGHT LEVEL
Example : Your CO2 controller stops enriching your room with CO2 dur-
ing the day, because it detects a NIG T condition, even though your
lights are still lit in the room! You’re probably experiencing a Dark DAY
condition...
•
What the CLEAR NIGHT c nditi n? A clear night condition is met
when the light level during the night is brighter than factory set
night level. This situation may occur if some light leaks coming
from doors or windows prevent your controller to detect a real
night condition, even though the lights are in the grow room.
Example : Your CO2 controller keeps enriching CO2 day and night, be-
cause it detects a DAY condition even though your lights are OFF in the
room! You’re probably experiencing a CLEAR NIG T condition...

SETTING THE DAY-NIGHT LEVEL
SETTING THE OSWDN IN A DARK DAY CONDITION
Your are in a DARK DAY condition : the photocell sensitivity is too low to
detect enough light to switch the upper output ON during the day. Using a
small screwdriver, rotate the DAY-NIG T LEVEL SETTING “COUNTER
CLOCKWISE” until the upper utput supplies 120V. Terminate the setting
by rotating further a few more degrees in the same direction. Turn the
lights ON and OFF in your grow room to validate the setting : the load
connected to the upper output should turn on when the lights are on in
the room.
SETTING THE OSWDN IN A CLEAR NIGHT CONDITION
Your are in a CLEAR NIG T condition : the photocell sensitivity is too high
and detecting low amount of light that inappropriately switches the upper
output ON during the night. Using a small screwdriver, rotate the DAY-
NIG T LEVEL SETTING “ CLOCKWISE” until the l wer utput supplies
120V. Terminate the setting by rotating further a few more degrees in the
same direction. Turn the lights on and off in your grow room to validate
the setting: the load connected to the lower output should turn on when
the lights are off in the room.
