Installation positions for accessories
When you use slide rails and chassis rails to install a switch in a 19-inch rack, first
determine the installation positions for the mounting bracket, slide rails, and ground cable
on the switch.
Position a or b near the network ports
Primary grounding point
(near the power modules)
Auxiliary grounding point
(near the network ports)

The switch comes with the mounting bracket and cable management bracket attached
together. You can de-attach them as required.

The distance between the front and rear rack posts depends on the switch mounting
methods. For other installation methods, you need to adjust the distance as required.
When you use guide rails and chassis rails to install a switch in a cabinet, make sure：
90mm
720mm
The distance between the front post and front door is greater than100 mm (3.94 in).
The distance between the front post and rear door is greater than 840 mm (33.07 in).
66mm
Connect the other end of the grounding cable to the grounding point of the rack
Airflow direction of the switch
The switch can provide airflow from the port side to power module side or from the
power module side to port side depending on the fan tray type.

Remove the filler panel before you install a field replaceable unit (FRU) and keep the
removed filler panel for future use.
After removing an FRU, install a filler panel to the empty slot to prevent dust from
entering the switch.
Before installing a fan tray, make sure the airflow direction marked on the fan tray
meets the ventilation requirement of the installation site.
