work, but connections must be made to the top side of the pipe,

not the bottom. This will keep normal sediment from collecting in

the valve.

Drill a installation hole for thevalve

Drill a quarter inch hole in the water pipe (even if a shutoff valve

with self-tapping connection is applied), and remove burrs left on

around the drilled hole.

Make sure water does not get into the valve.

Fail to drill this hole will result in insufficient ice production or

smaller ice cube.

Fasten shutoff valve:

fasten shutoff valve to cold water pipe with pipe clamp. Before

installation, please make sure a saddle-type valve complies with

your local plumbing codes. According to Commonwealth of

Massachusetts plumbing codes CMR248, saddle valves are

turns of 10 inches[25cm] each) to allow the refrigerator to move out

from the wall after installation.

Connect tubing to the valve:

Connect the compression nut and the copper sleeve to the end of

tubing, and connect it to the shutoff valve.

Make sure the tubing is pushed into the valve as far as it will go, then

tighten the nut securely.

According to Commonwealth of Massachusetts plumbing codes
