SAFETY AND PREPARATION FOR USE
CAUTION
This instrument may be damaged if it is operated with the LINE VOLTAGE
SELECTION set for the wrong AC line voltage or if the wrong fuse is installed.
LINE VOLTAGE SELECTION
The C7557 is designed with an auto ranging power supply that will operate from an
input power source of 50/60Hz,100-240V AC. It is fused at one point. It is rated at
2.5Amps. The fuse is located in the AC power entry module just below the power
cord connection point on the rear panel. This fuse may be inspected by removing the
power cord from the back plate and then pulling out the small plastic drawer
located immediately below. The drawer should be carefully pried from its indent at
the center using a tool such as a small blade screwdriver. The operating fuse is
located just to its rear.
If the main fuse is open, the Power LED of front panel will not come on when the
switch is in the ON position. If the main fuse is intact, the light will come on when
the switch is in the ON position.
LINE CODE
The C7557 uses a three wire power cord for connection to the power source and to a
protective ground. The exposed metal parts of the instrument are connected to the
outlet ground: to protect against electrical shock, always use an outlet which has a
properly connected product ground. To avoid shock or injury do not remove product
covers or panels. Do not operate the product without all covers and panels in place.
CONNECTION TO OTHER INSTRUMENTS
All rear panel BNC shields are connected to the chassis ground and to the power
outlet ground via the power cord. Do not apply any voltage to either the shields or
to the outputs. The outputs are not protected against connection to any potential
other than ground.
LOCATION
The C7557 is made some holes in the cover to radiate heat. This instrument may be
damaged if it does not radiate heat enough. To avoid blocking the holes, do not locate
any other instruments near by.

CLEANING
The C7557 does not need to cleaning.
INSTALLATION LOCATION
To ensure the proper operation of the system, avoid installing it in the following
locations:
(1) in areas near strong electric and/or magnetic field sources
(2) in areas at ambient temperatures below 0℃or above 40℃
(3) in areas subject to large changes in temperature
(4) in areas with high humidity(more than 80%) or damp environments
(5) in areas subject to vibration
(6) in areas with high-density corrosive gases(chlorine, fluorine, etc.)
(7) in areas with excessively dusty environments
(8) in areas exposed to direct sunlight
(9) in areas higher than 2,000 meters above see level

Chapter1 Hardware
General
The C7557 can drive a multichannel photodetector heads as CCD, InGaAs, N-
MOS. It converts the video signal from the sensor to a digital output, which is
then sent to a personal computer via the SCSI interface. The MDDA Software
is available for analysis.

Installation
1. Power requirement
The power supply voltage of the C7557 is AC100V to AC240V
(50/60Hz).
2. Fuses
Inspect the fuse before plugging the power cord of the instrument
into an outlet. The two fuses are located in the fuse box (in the
LINE ) on controller rear panel. The fuse is rated at 2.5A.
When replacing the fuse , use only fuse of the same ratings as those
provided.
[Caution]
Using a fuse of a different rating or bypassing the fuse is dangerous and
not recommended.
3. Ground
Connect the power cord plug to a 3-prong power outlet.

System outline
1) A/D conversion part
This part is differential input A/D converter.
12-bit(1MHz) or 16-bit(250KHz) converters are available. Converted
digital data are send to the control part.
Some amp gain is available as x1/2, x1, x2, x5, x10, x20, x50, x100.
2) Control part
This part drives the various multichannel detector heads, controls
temperature of multichannel detector, and controls converted digital
data. This part also has an SCSI interface for communicating with a
personal computer.
3) Power supply part
This part contains a switching power supply and noise filters.
Detailed explanation is on the next page.
