INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE INSTALLATION

CAUTION

Equipment Damage Hazard.

Putting stress on the lever assembly can destroy the

accuracy. Do not move or lift the PP904 by the lever

assembly.

Do not remove the shipping protection until after the device is

permanently mounted. See Fig. 1.

Special Equipment

Magnehelic Gage of appropriate range, if not part of the

system.

INSTALLATION

Mounting

1. Mount the device in any position using four no. 10

screws obtained locally. See Fig. 2.

2. Remove the cover.

3. Remove the shipping protection foam between the flap-

per and the nozzle. See Fig. 1.

4. Cut and remove the two shipping ties.

Piping

To Flow Measuring Station (FMS)

1. Push the branch and main tubing onto the pigtail

connectors (PP904A) or the restrictor (PP904B). See

Fig. 3.

NOTE: The PP904A connectors are 1/4 in. (6mm) pigtail for

main line and 5/32 in. (4mm) pigtail for branch line.

The PP904B restrictor has 1/4 in. (6mm) connectors.

a. Connect the PP904 port A to the flow measuring

station (FMS) port L. See Fig. 4. This is the low or

static pressure connection.

b. Connect the PP904 port B to the FMS port H. This is

the high or total pressure connection. See Pneu-

matic Airflow Control Modular Engineering Drawings

77-5066.

To Static Pressure Sensing Heads

1. Push the branch and main tubing onto the PP904A pig-

tail connectors or the PP904B restrictor. See Fig. 3.

NOTE: The PP904A connectors are 1/4 in. (6mm) pigtail for

main line and 5/32 in. (4mm) pigtail for branch line.

The PP904B restrictor has 1/4 in. (6mm) connectors.

2. Install the 14004238-001 Duct Static-Pressure Sensing

(SEE DETAIL "A" SETPOINT Head in the duct. See Fig. 5.

the PP904 port C for direct-acting or port A for reverse-

acting control. See Fig. 6.

Connect PP904 branch line to the control device and

the main line to main air.

CALIBRATION

See Pneumatic Airflow Control System 77-5031 for calibration

using the Airflow Test Panel or use the following procedure:

1. To set the throttling range, loosen the throttling range

adjustment knob (TR) and slide the pointer to the

desired setting. See Fig. 3.

2. Tighten the knob.

3. Turn the coarse setpoint adjustment knob to position the

pointer to the desired setting on the setpoint scale.

4. Connect a Magnehelic Gage between the A and C con-

nections, if not part of the system. If desired, a 0 to 30

psi gage can be teed into the PP904A branch line to

read the branch line pressure.

5. With the system running and the PP904 in control, turn

the fine setpoint adjustment knob until the desired read-

ing is shown on the Magnehelic Gage.

NOTE: Repeat Steps 2, 3 and 4 if the throttling range is

changed.

tion secondaire. Le limiteur de débit a des rac-

cords de 6 mm (1/4 po).

2. Installer dans la gaine la tête du capteur de pression

statique sur gaine 14004238-001. Voir la Fig. 5.

3. Raccorder la canalisation de la tête du capteur de pres-

sion à l'orifice C du PP904 dans le cas d'une com-

mande à action directe, ou à l'orifice A dans le cas d'une

commande à action inverse. Voir la Fig. 6.

4. Raccorder la canalisation secondaire du PP904 au dis-

positif de commande et la canalisation principale à la

section d'admission d'air principale.

Se reporter à la publication 77-5031 sur le système

pneumatique de régulation du débit pour l'étalonnage au

moyen du tableau d'essai de débit d'air ou :

1. Pour régler la bande proportionnelle, desserrer le bou-

ton de réglage de la bande proportionnelle (TR) et

placer l'index au réglage voulu. Voir la Fig. 3.

2. Serrer le bouton.

3. Tourner le bouton de réglage rapide du point de con-

signe de manière à placer l'index au réglage voulu sur

l'échelle de point de consigne.

4. Connecter un débitmètre à hélice entre les raccords A

et C si le système ne comprend pas de tel débitmètre.

Insérer, s'il y a lieu, un manomètre de 0 à 30 psi dans la

canalisation secondaire du PP904A pour mesurer la

pression dans cette canalisation.

5. Mettre le système en marche et sous la commande du

PP904, puis tourner le bouton de réglage fin du point de

consigne jusqu'à ce que le débitmètre à hélice indique

la grandeur voulue.

REMARQUE : Recommencer les étapes 2, 3 et 4 s'il y a une

nouvelle bande proportionnelle.
