printers

can

nected

DPS

Extended

and

DPS

systems

using

peripheral

device

serial

interface

(pDSI).

The

PRU0901/1201

can

produce

clear

printed

charac-

ters

nominal

speeds

of900

and

1200

lines

per

minute

(lpm)

respectively

with

64-character

belt.

To providefor

future

system

needs,

the

PRU0901

can

upgraded

site

(via

PRK0901

)to

PRU1201.

Introduction

Belts

Two identical

belts

are

supplied

with

the

printer.

The

customershould

complete

and

return

the

belt

warranty

card

that

accompanies

the

printer.

Each

belt

comes

with

lightweight

cartridgeto facilitate removal, inter-

change,

and

storage.

The

system is programmedto recognize

the

beltbeing

usedfrom a code on

the

belt. (See Appendix B for a

list

the

available

belts.)

Ribbons

The

printers

use a 2-inch-wide, 50-meter-longnylon ribbon

having

a ribbon

life

4.5 to 6 million lines.

The ribbon system is composed

a ribbon cassette assembly, ribbon refill

cartridge,

and

ribbon inker. The operator

can

maximize

ribbon life

performing Degree I maintenance (Section

and

by monitoring

the

condition

ribbon inker's felt wick to

free flow of
