1 Getting Started
Important safety information
A power cord is included with the monitor. If another cord is used, use only a power source and connection
appropriate for this monitor. For information on the correct power cord set to use with the monitor, refer to
the Product Notices provided in your documentation kit.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment:
• Plug the power cord into an AC outlet that is easily accessible at all times.
• Disconnect power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet.
• If provided with a 3-pin attachment plug on the power cord, plug the cord into a grounded (earthed) 3-pin
outlet. Do not disable the power cord grounding pin, for example, by attaching a 2-pin adapter. The grounding
pin is an important safety feature.
For your safety, do not place anything on power cords or cables. Arrange them so that no one may
accidentally step on or trip over them. Do not pull on a cord or cable. When unplugging from the electrical
outlet, grasp the cord by the plug.
To reduce the risk of serious injury, read the Safety and Comfort Guide. It describes proper workstation, setup,
posture, and health and work habits for computer users, and provides important electrical and mechanical
safety information.
CAUTION: For the protection of the monitor, as well as the computer, connect all power cords for the
computer and its peripheral devices (such as a monitor, printer, scanner to some form of surge protection
device such as a power strip or Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS. Not all power strips provide surge
protection; the power strips must be specically labeled as having this ability. Use a power strip whose
manufacturer oers a Damage Replacement Policy so you can replace the equipment, if surge protection
fails.
Use the appropriate and correctly sized furniture designed to properly support your HP LCD monitor.
WARNING! LCD monitors that are inappropriately situated on dressers, bookcases, shelves, desks, speakers,
chests, or carts may fall over and cause personal injury.
Care should be taken to route all cords and cables connected to the LCD monitor so that they cannot be pulled,
grabbed, or tripped over.
NOTE: This product is suitable for entertainment purposes. Consider placing the display in a controlled
luminous environment to avoid interference from surrounding light and bright surfaces that may cause
disturbing reections from the screen.

Product features and components
Features
This product is an AMD FreeSync-qualied display, which allows you to enjoy PC gaming with smooth,
responsive, tear-free performance whenever a picture changes on the screen. The external source connected
to your display must have the FreeSync driver installed.
AMD FreeSync technology is designed to eliminate stuttering and tearing in games and videos by locking a
display’s refresh rate to the frame rate of the graphics card. Check with the manufacturer of your component
or system for specic capabilities.
IMPORTANT: AMD Radeon Graphics and/or AMD A-Series APU-compliant displays with DisplayPort/HDMI
Adaptive-Sync required. AMD 15.11 Crimson driver (or newer) required to support FreeSync over HDMI.
NOTE: Adaptive refresh rates vary by display.
To enable FreeSync on the display, press the Menu button on the monitor to open the on-screen display
menu. Click Color Control > Quick View > Gaming.
The light-emitting diode (LED) backlit display has an active matrix, AMVA+ panel. The display features include
the following:
●81.3 cm (32-inch) diagonal viewable area with 2560 × 1440 QHD resolution, plus full-screen support for
lower resolutions
●Tilt capability and easy viewing from sitting or standing position, or while moving from one side of the
monitor to the other
●AMVA+ technology providing wide viewing angles with colors that maintain their integrity
●HDMI (High-Denition Multimedia Interface) video input
●DisplayPort video input
●Plug and Play capability if supported by your operating system
●On-screen display (OSD) adjustments in 10 languages for easy setup and screen optimization
●My Display software for adjusting monitor settings through Windows
●HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) used on digital inputs
●Software and documentation disc that includes monitor drivers and product documentation
●VESA mounting bracket for attaching the display to a wall mount device or swing arm
●USB 2.0 hub with one upstream port and two downstream ports
●AMD FreeSync-qualied, providing PC gaming enjoyment with smooth, responsive, tear-free
performance whenever a picture changes on the screen

Side and Bottom Components on the Rear Panel

1 Menu button Press to open the OSD menu, select a menu item from the OSD, or close the
OSD menu.
2 Plus button If the OSD menu is on, press to navigate forward through the OSD menu and
increase adjustment levels.
If the OSD menu is inactive, press to open the Quick View menu.
3 Minus button If the OSD menu is on, press to navigate backward through the OSD menu
and decrease adjustment levels.
If the OSD menu is inactive, press to advance to the next active input port
(HDMI, DisplayPort).
4 Power button When the monitor is o, press the button to turn on the monitor.
5 Power connector Connects an AC adapter.
6 Power LED Light indicates when the power is on.
7 USB 2.0 (upstream) Connects the USB hub cable from the source device to the monitor.
8 USB 2.0 (downstream) Connects optional USB devices to the monitor.
9 USB 2.0 charging
(downstream)
Connects optional USB devices to the monitor.
10 HDMI ports (2) Connect the HDMI cables from source devices to the monitor.
11 DisplayPort Connects the DisplayPort cable from the source device to the monitor.
NOTE: The USB 2.0 downstream with charging port also provides current to charge a device such as a smartphone or
tablet. You can make the charging current available even when the monitor power button is switched o by changing
the settings in the OSD. Open the OSD and select Power Control > USB Power > Enable.

Setting up the monitor
Use caution when setting up the monitor
To prevent damage to the monitor, do not touch the surface of the LCD panel. Pressure on the panel may
cause non-uniformity of color or disorientation of the liquid crystals. If this occurs the screen will not recover
to its normal condition.
If installing a stand, lay the monitor face down on a at surface covered with a protective sheet foam or non-
abrasive cloth. This prevents the screen from getting scratched, defaced or broken as well as damage to the
front panel.
NOTE: Your monitor may look dierent from the monitor in this illustration.

Attaching the monitor stand
CAUTION: The screen is fragile. Avoid touching or applying pressure to the screen; doing so can cause
damage.
TIP: Consider the placement of the display, because the bezel might cause interfering reections from
surrounding light and bright surfaces.
1. Lift the monitor from its box and place it face down on a at surface covered by a clean, dry cloth.
2. Attach the stand to the monitor by inserting the bracket at the top of the stand into the slot on the back
of the display head until the bracket clicks securely in place.

Connecting the cables
NOTE: The monitor ships with select cables. Not all cables shown in this section are included with the
monitor.
1. Place the monitor in a convenient, well-ventilated location near the computer.
2. Connect a video cable.
NOTE: The monitor will automatically determine which inputs have valid video signals. The inputs can
be selected by pressing the Minus button on the rear panel or through the on-screen display by pressing
the Menu button and selecting Input Control.
●Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI connector on the back of the monitor and the other end to the
source device.
●Connect a DisplayPort cable to the DisplayPort connector on the rear of the monitor and the other
end to the DisplayPort connector on the source device.

3. Connect a USB upstream cable to the USB upstream connector on the rear of the monitor and the other
end to a USB downstream connector on the source device.
4. Connect one end of the power cord to the power supply (1) and the other end to a grounded electrical
outlet (2), and then connect the round end of the power supply cord to the monitor (3).
WARNING! To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment:
Do not disable the power cord grounding plug. The grounding plug is an important safety feature.
Plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed) electrical outlet that is easily accessible at all times.
Disconnect power from the equipment by unplugging the power cord from the electrical outlet.
