IVP 4101 PET smart
Passive infrared sensor
Congratulations, you have just purchased a product with Intelbras quality and safety.
The passive infrared sensor IVP 4101 PET smart was developed by Intelbras with
100% digital technology. The sensor has an integrated Temperature Sensor to offer
the same detection sensitivity in different environments (from -10 °C to + 50 °C)
reducing the risk of false triggers, DIGITAL technology, SMD mounting. Indicated for
INDOOR ENVIRONMENTS with the presence of pets weighing up to 20 Kg, it is easy
to install because it is wireless and can be installed in most devices that work at the
same frequency and modulation available on the market.

Care and safety
» This product is intended for Indoor environments.
» It is important to note that the Pet function is designed for crawling animals, so if the animal is not on the ground, but
on top of a bench, for example, it can be detected thus canceling the Pet function, as can be seen in the image below:
» Avoid touching the surface of the PIR, if necessary, use a soft cloth for cleaning.
» Do not place objects in front of the sensor. To secure the detection area, avoid curtains, screens, screens, or any object
that blocks the scan.
» Wireless communication technology, when exposed to environments with high power radiation, can suffer interference
and have its performance impaired. Example: locations near TV towers,AM/FM radio stations, ham radio stations, routers,
etc.
» Recommended installation height is 1.8 to 2.2 meters.
» Do not use the sensor in areas with sudden changes in temperature such as air conditioners and heaters, fans, refrigera-
tors and ovens. Do not expose the sensor directly or to sunlight reections.
» For the use of the articulator, we recommend that the installation be done by a professional installer, as its incorrect use
may affect the sensor’s coverage angle.

» The sensor must be installed where a possible intruder is easily detected, that is, where there is movement across the
sensor’s detection beams.
» We recommend that the sensor conguration is done according to item

4. Installing the smart IVP 4101 PET sensor
Before starting the installation it is necessary to dene the height of installation of the sensor. We recommend that this
sensor is installed as per the table below.
d

Distance (d) Pet Installation height (h)
Less than or equal to 4 m Without the presence of a pet 1,8 to 2 m
With the presence of a pet
Greater than 4 m up to 12 m With the presence of a pet 2,1 to 2,2 m
Without the presence of a pet 1,8 to 2,2 m
Note: to install the IVP 4101 PET smart sensor, make sure that the battery is not connected to the board.
The sensor IVP 4101 PET smart does not have an articulator. So for your installation, follow the procedure below:
» Step 1: remove the lower front cover from the sensor.

8
» Step 2: if the installation is done directly on the wall, use the oblong located in the upper rear region of the sensor and
the hole indicated for placement of the screw just below the connectors.

installation in the wall corner.
Important: the IVP 4101 PET smart was designed for INDOOR AND CLOSED AREAS and with the presence of animals of
up to 20 kg, so do not use it for protection of outdoor or open areas and with the presence of animals of more than 20 kg.

5. Conguring the IVP 4101 PET smart sensor (for cards in
version 4410350/5 and rmware 3.0.0)
After the sensor is properly installed, make the following adjustments according to the information below:
5.1. Sensitivity adjustment of the smart IVP 4101 PET sensor
The SENS jumper (JP1) is used to control the detection sensitivity. With jumper JP1 open the sensor provides maxi-
mum sensitivity. With jumper JP1 closed the sensor provides minimum sensitivity. Closed factory default.
5.2. Setting the operating mode of the smart IVP 4101 PET sensor
Via the ECO/CONT jumper (JP2), select between intelligent continuous mode and economy mode. With jumper JP2
open the sensor is in intelligent continuous mode. With jumper JP2 closed, the sensor is in economy mode. Factory
default: closed.
After energized, the sensor will operate in the test period for 15 minutes so that the installer can make all the sensor
positioning adjustments. During this period, at any motion detection, the LED lights up and a trigger is generated.
Then the sensor will operate according to the congured mode.
Intelligent Continuous Mode: the sensor takes a reading of the environment and generates a trigger for 3 move-
ments, after this trigger generation the sensor goes into hibernation for 2 minutes. During this period, the indication
LED is not activated and no new triggers are generated, as a notication has just been sent to the control panel. After
the sleep time, the sensor is monitoring the environment until detecting 3 more events.
Note:
this mode of operation causes a greater consumption of battery power, especially where there is a large
number of people.

Economy Mode: the sensor takes a reading of the environment and right after motion is detected and the trigger
is generated, it goes into sleep, which can last for a period of 30 seconds (environment with little movement) up to
2 minutes (environment with a lot of movement). During this period, the LED indication is not activated and no new
triggers are generated,as a notication has just been sent to the switch. After the sleep time, the sensor is monitoring
the environment until detecting a new movement.
» Advantage of the Economy mode: this ability to learn from the environment, means that in places with high
degrees of movement, periodic and non-continuous shots are generated, in turn, saving battery power.

5.3. IVP 4101 PET smart sensor supervision adjustment
The SUPERV (JP3) jumper is used to select between supervised (FSK) or unsupervised (OOK) modes. With jumper JP3 open
the sensor is in supervised mode (FSK). With jumper JP3 closed the selected mode is unsupervised (OOK). The type of
supervision to be used will depend on the receiver’s compatibility with the Control Panel.
Factory standard: unsupervised
