POWER SOURCE
Battery operation
1. Open the battery cover.
2. Insert 2 “AA” size (UM-3) batteries into the battery compartment, making
sure that the batteries are installed with the proper polarities (+ and –).
To prevent possible damage to this radio:
Load new batteries with their polarities (+ and –) aligned correctly.
• Do not apply heat to batteries, or internal short-circuit may occur.
• If this radio is not to be used for a long period of time, remove all batteries
and store them in a cool and dry place.
• Remove dead batteries immediately.
• Do not use old and new batteries together. Do not use dierent type of
batteries.
• Battery life: If the sound becomes low or distorted, replace batteries with
new ones.

RADIO OPERATION
1. Rotate the volume knob anti-clockwise to turn the radio on and adjust to
desired sound level.
2. Select the preferred frequency band (FM/MW/SW) by sliding the band
knob. The selected wave will appear on the display.
3. Rotate the tuning knob to tune to the desired station. The display shows
the frequency.
4. Adjust the antenna (see antennas).
5. Press power knob to turn o the radio.
CLOCK FUNCTION
1. Press the HOUR button as many times as necessary until the correct hour is
reached, while the TIME button is pressed.
2. Press the MINUTE button as many times as necessary until the correct
minute is reached, while the TIME button is pressed.
TO SET THE ALARM TIME
1. Turn radio o.
2. Press down the ALARM SET button, “AL: SET” will appear on the display
to identify the alarm time. While press the HOUR button as many times as
necessary until the correct hour is reached.
3. Press the MINUTE button as many times as necessary until the correct
minute is reached, while the ALARM SET button is pressed.

WAKE WITH RADIO
1. After setting the alarm time, turn on the radio to select the station, and turn
the unit o.
2. Press the AL.SET ON/OFF button “ ” will appear on the display. The radio
will turn on at the alarm time.
3. Press the AL.SET ON/OFF button again “ ” disappears, and this function is
canceled.
ANTENNAS
FM: Pull out the telescope antenna and adjust the length and angle for
optimum reception.
MW: The sensitive ferrite core antenna inside the radio will provide excellent
MW reception in most areas. Turn the radio in the direction which gives the
best results because the ferrite core antenna is directional.
SW1-7: Extend the telescopic antenna fully and keep it vertical.

HELPFUL HINTS
• If the radio is not used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to
prevent potential damage due to possible battery leakage.
• Do not subject the radio to temperatures over 60 °C (140 °F) because
characteristics of the internal parts may be adversely aected by heat.
Never leave the radio in a car exposed to direct sunlight for a long period
of time with the doors and windows closed. The cabinet may become
deformed and deterioration of the performance may result.
• Because a strong magnet is used for the speaker, keep magnetized tickets
or personal credit cards, recorded tapes, watches etc. away from the radio.
The speaker magnet in the radio may damage them.
• Do not place the radio near strong magnets such as those used in radio
television sets, speaker boxes etc. as these may cause the frequency to drift.
• Do not drop or subject the set to a strong impact since the radio is
composed of precision parts.
• Do not use benzene, thinners or any abrasive powder to clean the cabinet.
Wipe it with a soft cloth moistened with a mild soap and water solution.

SPANNUNGSVERSORGUNG
Batteriebetrieb
1. Önen Sie das Batteriefach.
2. Legen Sie 2„AA“ (UM-3) Batterien in das Batteriefach ein. Beachten Sie die
richtige Polarität (+ und –).
Um mögliche Schäden an diesem Radio zu verhindern:
Legen Sie neue Batterien gemäß der korrekten Polarität (+ und –) ein.
• Setzen Sie die Batterien keiner Hitze aus, andernfalls besteht
Kurzschlussgefahr.
• Sollten Sie das Radio für längere Zeit nicht benutzen, entfernen Sie alle
Batterien und lagern Sie es kühl und trocken.
• Entfernen Sie leere Batterien unverzüglich.
• Verwenden Sie keine alten und neuen Batterien zusammen. Verwenden Sie
nur Batterien des gleichen Typs.
• Batterielebensdauer: Ersetzen Sie die Batterien, sobald der Ton leiser wird
oder Störungen aufweist.

RADIOBETRIEB
1. Drehen Sie den Lautstärkeregler links herum, um das Radio einzuschalten
und die gewünschte Lautstärke einzustellen.
2. Wählen Sie das entsprechende Frequenzband (UKW/MW/KW) durch
Verschieben des Bandumschalters. Die gewählte Frequenz wird auf dem
Display angezeigt.
3. Drehen Sie den Abstimmregler, um den gewünschten Sender einzustellen.
Das Display zeigt die Frequenz an.
4. Richten Sie die Antenne aus (siehe„ANTENNEN“).
5. Drücken Sie die Betriebstaste, um das Radio auszuschalten.
EINSTELLUNG DER UHRZEIT
1. Halten Sie die Taste TIME gedrückt und drücken Sie während dessen
wiederholt die Taste HOUR, bis die korrekte Stunde angezeigt wird.
2. Halten Sie die Taste TIME gedrückt und drücken Sie während dessen
wiederholt die Taste MIN, bis die korrekte Minute angezeigt wird.
EINSTELLUNG DER WECKZEIT
1. Schalten Sie das Radio aus.
2. Drücken Sie die Taste AL.SET;„AL: SET“ erscheint auf dem Display, um die
eingestellte Weckzeit anzuzeigen. Drücken Sie während dessen wiederholt
die Taste HOUR, bis die richtige Stunde erreicht ist.
3. Halten Sie die Taste AL.SET gedrückt und drücken Sie während dessen
wiederholt die Taste MIN, bis die richtige Minute erreicht ist.

RADIOWECKER
1. Nachdem Sie die Weckzeit eingestellt haben, schalten Sie das Radio ein und
suchen Sie einen Sender. Schalten Sie dann das Gerät wieder aus.
2. Drücken Sie die Taste AL.SET ON/OFF.„ “ erscheint auf dem Display. Das
Radio schaltet sich zur eingestellten Weckzeit ein.
3. Drücken Sie erneut AL.SET ON/OFF:„ “ erlischt und die Funktion ist
deaktiviert.
ANTENNEN
UKW: Ziehen Sie die Teleskopantenne aus und richten diese für einen
optimalen Empfang aus.
MW: Die empndliche Ferritkern-Antenne im Inneren des Radios gewährleistet
in den meisten Gebieten einen exzellenten MW-Empfang. Da die Ferritkern-
Antenne richtungsabhängig ist, müssen Sie das Radio für den bestmöglichen
Empfang entsprechend ausrichten.
KW1-7: Ziehen Sie die Teleskopantenne komplett aus und richten diese
vertikalaus.

NÜTZLICHE HINWEISE
• Wenn Sie das Radio über eine längere Zeit nicht benutzen, entfernen Sie
die Batterien, um Schäden aufgrund auslaufender Batterien zu vermeiden.
• Setzen Sie das Radio niemals Temperaturen über 60 °C (140 °F) aus, da
innere Bestandteile möglicherweise beschädigt werden können. Lassen
Sie das Radio nicht über längere Zeit und bei geschlossenen Fenstern und
Türen im Auto liegen, wenn dieses direkter Sonneneinstrahlung ausgesetzt
ist. Die Leistungsqualität kann darunter leiden und das Außengehäuse
könnte sich verformen.
• Da ein starker Magnet für die Lautsprecher benutzt wird, sollten Sie Tickets
mit Magnetstreifen, Kreditkarten, Aufnahmebänder, Uhren usw. außer
Reichweite des Radios aufbewahren. Der Lautsprechermagnet könnte diese
beschädigen.
• Platzieren Sie das Radio nicht in der Nähe von Magneten, wie sie in Radio-
und TV-Geräten, Lautsprecherboxen usw. verwendet werden, da diese die
Frequenz verstellen können.
• Lassen Sie das Gerät nicht fallen und schützen Sie es vor starken Stößen, da
das Gerät aus empndlichen Teilen besteht.
• Benutzen Sie kein(e) Benzin, Verdünner oder Scheuermittel zur Reinigung
des Gehäuses. Verwenden Sie dafür einen mit milder Seife und Wasser
angefeuchteten, weichen Lappen.
