A 1.2 Important information
The instructions for use should be
read by the user before starting up the
unit for the first time, in order to avoid
incorrect operation and other damage. If
other language versions are required, please
request these from your responsible KaVo
agent. Duplication and distribution of the
instructions for use (IU require KaVo's
prior consent.
All technical data, information and proper-
ties of the product described in the IU cor-
respond to the state on going to press.
Modifications and improvements to the
product as a result of new technical devel-
opments are possible.
This does not imply any right to retrofitting
of existing units.
KaVo assumes no responsibility for damage
arising through:
• external influences (poor quality of the
media or inadequate installation
• use of incorrect information
• improper use
• improperly performed repairs.
Repair and maintenance work - apart from
the activities described in these instructions
for use - may be performed only by quali-
fied technical personnel.
In the event of modifications by third par-
ties, the approvals become null and void.
KaVo recommends using only original
spare parts for operation and for repair.
A 1.3 Precautions
Safe operation and protection of the unit are
ensured only through proper use in accor-
dance with the instructions for use and
using the tools approved for the purpose.
The following should also be observed:
• the work safety regulations,
• the accident prevention regulations.

A 3 Operation
When products are operated for
the first time and for every operation
thereafter, it is essential to note the points
mentioned in the section «A 1.3 Safety
measures
»
!
Switch on the supplementary control
first and then the ABSORmatic plus at
the respective mains switch @.
peration without external transmitter
and without external sealed keypad
When the dust-generating consumer is put
into operation, the suction path is opened.
When the consumer is shut down, the suc-
tion path is closed after expiry of an after-
running time set on the ABSORmatic plus.
peration with external signal transmit-
ter and without external sealed keypad
The suction path opens only when the sig-
nal transmitter is actuated (switch . After
the end of the actuation of the signal trans-
mitter (switch , the suction path closes after
expiry of an after-running time set on the
ABSORmatic plus. The dust-generating
consumer has no effect on the extraction.
With external sealed keypad at the work-
station
” Automatic / Continuous
Automatic mode: When the dust-
generating consumer is put into
operation, the suction path opens. When
the consumer is shut down, the suction
path closes after expiry of an after-
running time set on the ABSORmatic
plus.
Continuous mode: The suction path is
opened regardless of the switch-on state
of the dust-generating consumer.

A 4 Maintenance
■
Repair and maintenance work on the
electrical part of the unit may be performed
only by qualified specialists or trained per-
sons who have been made aware of the
safety regulations. For maintenance work,
disconnect the mains plug or isolate the
unit completely from the mains supply,
thus cutting off power to the unit.
The supplementary control and the suction
path diverter require no special mainte-
nance.
At regular intervals, check the connections
of the suction hoses and compressed air
lines for leaks.
A 5 Malfunctions
Repair and maintenance work on the
electrical part of the unit may be
performed only by specialists or persons
who have been trained in the factory and
have been made aware of the safety
regulations. Before opening housing parts,
disconnect the mains plug or isolate the
unit completely from the mains supply,
thus cutting off power to the unit.
Error messages of the supplementary
control are indicated by flashing of
the red error LED @ on the external sealed
keypad. The number of flashes corresponds
to the error number.
C• Component error
R• Contact Customer Service.
C • The CAN main control in the ABSOR-
matic plus and the CAN supplementary
control check for each other’s presence.
This error is output if one of the two con-
trols does not respond (switched off, pro-
gram error, etc. .
R • Check whether supplementary control
has been properly connected to the power
supply. Then restart main control at the
mains switch or by RESET.

C • An error occurred during the software
initialization of the CAN module. CAN is
not ready.
R • Switch the unit off and on at the mains
switch. If this error occurs several times in
succession, call the Customer Service.
C • EEPROM or bus connection faulty.
R • The unit can be further operated by
acknowledgement with the
«Auto/Continuous»key or after independent
establishment of the CAN communication.
Customer-specific values are lost and can
no longer be stored. If this error occurs
several times in succession, call the Customer
Service.
C • EPROM faulty.
R Switch the unit off and on at the mains
switch. If this error occurs again, call the
Customer Service.

version 3.0. (For checking of the software
version, see ABSORmatic plus instructions
for use.
With software versions 2.0 to 2.9, the
replacement circuit board 1.000.3134
must be installed in the ABSORmatic plus.
Connection variants
Connection of 4 suction points
To ensure a uniform distribution of the suc-
tion power, the four suction points must be
connected to the four-fold suction path
diverter.
Connection of 5 or 6 suction points
Depending on the required volume flow,
max. 4 suction points can be put into opera-
tion simultaneously.
The technicians’ workstations and small units
are connected to suction paths 2.1 to 2.4.
Large units are connected directly to the
ABSORmatic plus, on suction paths 1 and 3.
