You have 9 cooking settings available.
Select the required cooking setting with the plus or minus
pad. The setting will be indicated in the display.
The "0" position is visible for about 2 seconds after the
appliance switches off.
Touch the sensor pad for approx. 2 seconds. The LED display
above the pad will then light up and the appliance will go
into operation (standby mode).
The standby mode automatically switches itself off, if
- no cooking zone is activated within 20 minutes (after 10
seconds an acoustic signal will indicate that the appliance
will switch itself off after a further 10 seconds)
or if
- the appliance is not used for 10 minutes after starting
operation.
Using the cooking zones
The cooking setting
If you touch the plus pad, the cooking zone starts at cooking
setting 5, without boost.
When the minus pad is touched the cooking zone will start at
setting 9 and the automatic boost is automatically switched
on.
Switching off a cooking zone:
Touch the plus and minus pads simultaneously.

Operating time in seconds
The temperature of the cooking zones is time-adjusted, in the same way as the energy control
unit. Depending on the cooking setting, the corresponding cooking zone will be switched on or
off as described in the following table.
This means, for instance, that at cooking setting 6 the control unit is switched on for 14 seconds
and is then switched off for 33 seconds. Thus the total amount of time is 47 seconds. Then the
process starts again.

The automatic boost function
All cooking zones are equipped with an automatic boost function.
Maximum power is used for the boost. The time period of the
boost depends on the selected cooking setting. After the time
has elapsed the cooking zone automatically switches back to the
selected cooking setting.
When you select the respective cooking setting by touching the
minus pad, the boost function will switch on automatically.
During automatic operation an "A" lights up in the display
alternately with the selected cooking setting.
When you select the required cooking setting by pressing the
plus pad, it is necessary to press the plus pad again after reaching
cooking setting 9 if the automatic boost function is to be activated.
Then select the required cooking setting.
"A" lights up in the display alternately with the selected cooking
setting until the boost has finished.
Time in seconds
The automatic boost works at full power and for the time specified in the table (depending on the
cooking setting):
Cooking setting 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Seconds 80 165 246 326 411 80 165 135 10
Minutes 1,3 2,7 4,1 5,4 6,8 1,3 2,7 2,2 0,0
After this time, the automatic boost switches off and cooking continues as specified in the table.
At setting 9 the cooking zone functions at full power, thus obviating the need for the boost function.

Dual-circuit cooking zones and frying zones
Usually the cooking zone with the smaller diameter
heats up.
Switch on the outer cooking zone circuit for bigger
saucepans or frying pans.
Press the cooking zone symbol next to the plus/
minus pad. A dot at the bottom right of the display
for the cooking level indicates that the function has
been switched on.
Pressing the cooking zone symbol again deactivates
the dual circuit cooking zone or frying zone.
All the cooking zones can be switched off quickly with
the OFF sensor.

Residual heat indicators
The lock is indicated by 3 flashing control indicators.
Be careful: Switching off the hob does not deactivate the lock!
Operating the sensor lock prevents unauthorised
persons from using the appliance. In order to activate
this lock the hob has to be in operation.
Activating the lock:
Press the sensor lock for 2 seconds. You may also
switch on the lock while cooking. Then, however, you
can only reduce the heat or switch off the hob.
Deactivating the lock:
after 3 secs. max.
Simultaneously touch the pads under the two flashing control indicators on the left. After not
more than 3 seconds touch the pad for the sensor lock.
Note: When the power supply has been interrupted the childproof lock is no longer active.
As long as the cooking zone is still hot, an "H" will appear in
the display when the cooking zone has been switched off.
