Wiring Connections
1. Power and ground electrical connections.
NOTE: +12V power for each connection must be supplied from separate breakers.
A. Connect +12V to terminal stud (Fig. 1P). This connection should be fused with a properly-sized
fuse or auto reset breaker per RVIA standards.
NOTE: Supplies +12V power for Low and High Current latching outputs and logic power.
B. Connect +12V to dimming LED power terminal stud (Fig. 1A). This connection should be fused
with a properly-sized fuse or auto reset breaker per RVIA standards.
NOTE: Supplies +12V power for Dimming and RGB outputs.
C. Connect +12V to reverse polarity terminal stud (Fig. 1K). This connection should be fused with a
properly-sized fuse or auto reset breaker per RVIA standards.
NOTE: Supplies +12V power for Reversing outputs, Tank Heater/Arctic output, and logic power.
D. Secure a ground connection to the ground terminal stud (Fig. 1L).
NOTE: Supplies ground for Reversing outputs and ground for logic.
2. RGB LED inputs (Fig. 1).
A. Connect the RGB LED to the provided pigtail using the RGB-1 diagram (Fig. 3A) as a guide.
B. Plug the pigtail in to RGB-1 (Fig. 1B).
NOTE: Each RGB input can power 1 zone of LEDs drawing up to 8 amps. If more LEDs are desired, another
zone of LEDs can be connected to the RGB-2 receptacle (Fig. 1C).
3. Dimming LED Inputs (Fig. 1D).
NOTE: Connections are provided for input signal from up to 10 toggle or momentary type light switches.
A. Connect the input signal from switch to the provided pigtail using the DIMM IN diagram (Fig. 2B)
as a guide to connect to coach wiring.
B. DIMM IN connections 1 through 8 match the DIMM OUT (Fig. 2G) connections through color
coding of the Lippert provided pigtails. For instance, if the switch for the Bedroom Lights was
connected to input 1 (green with white strip) then the power out to the bedroom light zone
would be wired to the green wire of pigtail connected to DIMM OUT (Fig. 2G).
C. DIMM IN connections 9 and 10 are the RGB LED switch input connections
I. Switch input to 9 controls RGB-1 output.
II. Switch input to 10 controls RGB-2 output.
4. CAN connections (Fig. 1E).
A. The Unity X4 controller has two data cable (CAN) connection ports (Fig. 1E) that link each module
in the Lippert Connect system together. Plug in the supplied 2-pin data cable (Fig. 4) to either
connector and route it to the next module in the system. A terminating resistor (Fig. 5) must be
place in the other CAN connector of the Unity X4 controller if no other modules are used.

Rev: 05.06.23 Page 8 CCD-0007005
5. HVAC (Fig. 1F).
NOTE: Connections are available for up to three zones of HVAC (Fig. 2).
NOTE: HVAC control and monitoring through the Unity X4 controller is available only for AC units with
analog controllers.
A. Zone 1 (Fig. 2) is typically used as the Main Zone. It has the only HVAC zone with an output for gas
heat.
B. Each zone must be configured using the OCTP to change the name and designate what features
are available in that zone such as gas heat, AC, or heat pump.
C. Each thermistor is powered through pin 2 blue/red wire.
D. Zone 1 thermistor is connected to pin 3 blue wire.
E. Zone 2 thermistor is connected to pin 4 blue with white stripe wire.
F. Zone 3 thermistor is connected to pin 5 blue with black stripe wire.
G. Once all connections are made to the supplied pigtail harness, plug it into the connector (Fig. 1F).
6. Generator (Fig. 1G).
A. Make the appropriate wiring connections at the generator to the generator harness using the GEN
diagram (Fig. 2C) as reference.
B. Plug the generator harness into the GEN connector (Fig. 1G) on the Unity X4 controller.
7. Lockout (Fig. 1H).
NOTE: Lockout provides in-transit lockout moving features.
A. Pin #1 Lockout 1 (brown wire): +12V switch ignition input for motorized units.
B. Pin #2 Lockout 2 (yellow wire): +12V input signal from brake wire in 7-way trailer harness.
C. Pin #3 Lockout 3 (grey wire): Not used.
D. Pin #4 Lockout LED (white wire): Not used.
8. Tank monitor inputs (Fig. 1I)
A. Tank monitor inputs are available for up to 7 holding tanks, 3 fuel tanks, DSI fault light, and chassis
battery.
B. Using the TANK pin-out wiring diagram (Fig. 3B) connect the signal wire from each tank sensor
that is to be monitored using the Unity X4 controller.
9. Configurable inputs (Fig. 1J).
A. Configurable inputs are used for adding a physical switch to any latching or reverse polarity
features.
B. Using the CONFIGURABLE INPUTS (Fig. 3C) pin-out diagram as a guide, make connections for any
physical switches being used. These are +12V signals. Connect the +12V output from the switch to
the input wire of the configurable input harness.
I. For latching switches, connect the +12V output.
II. For reverse polarity switches, connect both the +12V extend and retract outputs.
10. Arctic out (Fig. 1M) also referred to as LATCH OUT HC on connector pin-out diagram (Fig. 2G).
A. Arctic out is a +12V high current (HC) 30 amp maximum output and is used for tank heaters.
B. If arctic out is used, it must be named in the configurator of the OCTP touch pad controller.

Rev: 05.06.23 Page 9 CCD-0007005
11. Dimming outputs (Fig. 1N).
A. Dimming outputs allow for up to 8 zones of dimmable LED lighting. This is a +12V output.
B. Using the DIMM OUT (Fig. 2H) pin-out diagram as a guide, make all connections for each zone
used.
C. Each zone used must be named in the configurator of the OCTP touch pad controller.
NOTE: Any zone named that also has a physical switch wired to the DIMM IN connector (Fig. 1D) must
have the switch type set to Momentary or Latching in that zone's configuration card in the OCTP
configurator. Latching switches that physically indicate ON/OFF may show "OFF" when a light is on.
In this case, a momentary switch should be used .
12. High current (HC) latching outputs (Fig. 1Q).
A. HC latching connections are available for a 10 amp and 20 amp +12V output.
B. Using the LATCH OUT HC (Fig. 2I) pin-out diagram as a guide, make all connections for each
output used.
NOTE: Each output used must be named in the configurator on the OCTP.
13. Low current (LC) latching outputs (Fig. 1R).
A. LC latching connections are available for 8 low current (5 amp max) +12V latching outputs.
B. Using the LATCH OUT LC (Fig. 2J) pin-out diagram as a guide, make all connections for each
output used.
NOTE: Each output used must be named in the configurator on the OCTP.
14. Low current reversing outputs (Fig. 1).
A. Spade style connections are available for up to 4 low current (15 amp max) reversing outputs (Fig.
1S-V).
NOTE: Each output used must be named in the configurator on the OCTP.
15. High current reversing outputs (Fig. 1).
A. Spade style connections are available for up to 3 high current (30 amp max) reversing outputs (Fig.
1W-Y).
NOTE: Each output used must be named in the configurator on the OCTP.
