Our engineers have optimized the balance between time and energy used during the ignition phase,
which helps you light your preferred fuel the fastest way possible, while also economizing battery power.

Get started
Before your first use with the Looftlighter X, make sure you have charged the battery
(full charge takes around 2 hours).
How to charge your Looftlighter X
1. Connect your charger to the outlet
2. Place the Looftlighter X in the charger. When the battery is charging, the white ring
around the charger will pulsate. You can choose if you want to charge the battery while
attached to the Looftlighter X or if you want to remove it before charge.
3. When the battery is fully charged, the white ring around the charger will change from
pulsating to steady - your battery is now charged.
Battery indicator
You can check the power level on your battery by pressing the transparent button on the
middle of your battery pack. The battery level will be indicated by the lights.
How it works
Learn how the Looftlighter X works
Activate Looftlighter X by pressing the On/Off switch for 2 seconds
The device is now activated and ready to use - It will stay activated
for 10 seconds and automatically deactivate if no action is taken
during this time.
The Looftlighter X features two buttons – a Burn button a Boost button. Pressing the
burn-button initiates an automatic ignition program that is developed to maximize lighting
efficiency and minimize power usage.
Burn mode - Heating element On
Automatic Ignition Program
Boost mode - Heating element Off
After 60 seconds the Looftlighter X goes into Boost mode.
The heating element is then automatically shut off and the fan
reaches maximum level.
During the first 15 seconds the fan speed is set at its lowest.
This process builds up heat in the Looftlighter X.
After 15 seconds the fan speed will increase.
After 60 seconds the heating element is shut off and the fan
reaches maximum level (Boost mode)

To end either Burn mode or Boost mode, press the respective button. You can also press the
On/Off switch to deactivate the device.

How to use it
Follow these instructions to start any grill, smoker or fireplace
Make a pile of charcoal, briquettes or logs, touch the pile
with the tip and press the Burn button.
Continue aiming the Looftlighter towards the
same spot until you have the perfect glow.

Pull back the Looftlighter a few inches when
sparks or glow appear. This will help the heat to
spread throughout the pile of fuel.
Don’t choke charcoal
Don’t put the nozzle of the Looftlighter X directly on to a big chunk of charcoal - airflow is
important so try to find a spot where two pieces of charcoal meet and ignite that spot.
Let it spread
Start by lighting smaller pieces, the glow will catch on quicker and spread to bigger pieces.
Use your ears
Best way to get your charcoal or logs going quickly is to continue pointing the Looftlighter
towards the same spot in your pile after ignition. Listen for the “swoosh” and you’ll know
when you point the Looftlighter X in the right direction.
Boost from outside
You can easily increase the temperature in your grill or smoker by closing the lid, point the
tip of the Looftlighter X to the vent hole and press the button. This will add a strong stream
of air to your grill which’ll get the heat up quickly. Perfect when making pizza!

General tips
There is charcoal and there is charcoal
We recommended to use high quality lump charcoal. This is quite different from the regular
charcoal you pick up in your grocery store. The chunks will be bigger, sparks less and a give a
more steady cooking temperature.
Briquettes
If you use briquettes the lighting time might be a bit longer. Briquettes are made from
charcoal powder compressed with corn starch making them very dense. The corn starch will
also emit smoke when ignited. There are different types of briquettes offering a selection of
density. The harder compressed - the longer burn time.
Lighting your hearth or fireplace
Crumble a piece of newspaper and put it between the logs. Touch the paper and press the
Burn button. Pull away when flames appear and continue towards the same spot for at least
60 seconds.
