QUAD GATE DELAY MANUAL V.1
RED STRIPE TO SOLID WHITE LINE
Remove module from packaging.
Power down your modular synthesizer and disconnect the power cable from the wall
outlet.
Attach the included power cable to the module’s power connector and connect the
other end to the power distribution bus in your EuroRack synthesizer case. Match the
red stripe of the cable to the solid white line on your Voltage Block.
Position the module on the mounting rails in your EuroRack case and screw down
mounting screws. Power up! If your case does not turn on properly then you have
installed the module incorrectly. Simply power down and make sure to follow the
diagram when reconnecting the module.

DESCRIPTION
The Quad Gate Delay is a 4 channel tempo-synced rhythm generator and logic delay.
There are 3 switchable time modes: milliseconds, tempo synced (unquantized), and
tempo synced (quantized) with additional manual control over each mode as well as
CV inputs over channels 1 & 2 (3 & 4 are fixed). The first mode allows for up to 1
second of delay per channel. Tempo synced (unquantized) allows for up to a bar of
delay based on the incoming clock. Tempo synced (quantized) mode allows for up to
a bar of delay quantized to 1/16 divisions. There are 3 normalling modes. In the first
mode all inputs only trigger their own channels. In the second mode the first input will
trigger all channels at the same time which allows for multiple taps off of a single
trigger. The third mode sends the delay output from the current channel into the next
channel's input. The mix output combines all 4 channels and sends a short pulse any
time one of the outputs goes high.
Features include:
4-Channels of delayed outputs (+ inputs on each channel)
2 CV inputs for adjusting time of channels 1 and 2. Channels 3 and 4 are fixed. In the
first mode all inputs only trigger their own channels. In the second mode the first input
will trigger all channels at the same time which allows for multiple taps off of a single
trigger. The third mode sends the delay output from the current channel into the next
channel's input
Clock input
3 Time mode settings with manual control: Milliseconds, Tempo Synced (unquan-
tized) and Tempo Synced (quantized)
3 Normalling modes
Mix function (sum) for all 4 outputs
Pairs well with Varigate 4 and Varigate 8 as an “expander” module

INDIVIDUAL GATE OUTPUTS
NORMALLING MODE
SWITCH:
MODE 1. All inputs only trigger
their own channels respectively.
Then adjust the delay times for
each output using manual knob
controls.
MODE 2. One gate input on
channel 1 will trigger all of the
output channels at the same
time which allows for multiple
taps off of a single trigger. Then
adjust the delay times for each
output using manual knob
controls.
MODE 3. Sends the delay
output from the current channel
into the next channel's input.
Then adjust the delay times for
each output using manual knob
controls.
TIME MODE SWITCH:
TIME 1. Milliseconds
TIME 2. Tempo Synced
(unquantized delays)
TIME 3. Tempo Synced
(quantized delays)
MIX OUTPUT w/ LED:
combines all 4 channels and
sends a short pulse any time one
of the outputs goes high. The
LED above this jack will blink
with each pulse.

PATCH EXAMPLE
Connect to your favorite clock
(using the Malekko Varigate
8+ clock out as an example)
Insert a gate (using Varigate 4
or 8 for instance) into channel
1 and the outputs to a drum
module with multiple gate
inputs. Set the MODE switch
to 3 for cascading delayed
outputs of gate signals. Switch
TIME to MODE 3 to create a
quantized rhythmic pattern.
Insert CV (from the Malekko
AD/LFO Module as an
example) to modulate the
TIME of input 1 to create
interesting continuous
changes to the cascading
gate outputs.
