BEFORE CLEANING, BE CERTAIN ALL ELEMENTS ARE TURNED OFF AND THE
COOKTOP IS COOL.
CAUTION: Do NOT usea cooktop cleaner on a hot cooktop. The fumes can be
hazardous to your health, and can chemically attack the glass-ceramic
surface.
• Thecartridgedoesnotneedtoberemovedfromthecooktopfornormalcleaning.
Ifremoved,bottommaybewipedclean withdampcloth. Ifelectricalterminals
on cartridgearecleaned,drythemthoroughlybefore using.
•For generaldailycleaningand lightsurfacesoil,usea cleandishclothor paper
towel and wash surface with solutionof water and any ofthese cleansers:
dishwashingliquidsuchasIvoryorJoy,bakingsoda,finepolishingpowderssuch
as BonAmi,orcommemialceramiccooktopcleanserssuchasCooktopCleaning
Creme(PartNo.20000001). Wipewithcleandampclothorpapertowel. Rinse
and dry thoroughly.
•To removeresiduefromburnedon spills,useBonAmi,Comet,ShinySinksor
nonabrasivesoft scrubbingcleansers,suchas CooktopCleaningCreme (Part
No.20000001). Scrubwithpapertowels,nylonorplasticscrubber,suchasTufty.
Rinseand drythoroughly. Ifstainisnotremovedeasily,allowpasteto remain
on surfacefor30 to40 minutes. Keep moistbycoveringwith wetpapertowel.
•To removeburnedon spot,usea singleedgerazorblade. Placebladeedgeon
cooktopat 30° angle; scrapeoffspot. Clean remainderof soilwith method
describedabove.
• Makesurebottomsofcookpotsarealwayscleananddry. (Soilfromthecookpot
bottomcanbetransferredtothecooktopsurface.) Beforeusingcookpctsonthe
glass-ceramiccooktopfor thefirsttime,and periodicallyas needed,clean the
bottomswithscouringpadsor othercleansers. Rinseand dry thoroughly.
•Makeita practicetowipecooktopsurfacewitha cleandampclothorpapertowel
beforeeach use; drythoroughly.Invisiblespatters,dust specks,cleansersor
watercancausestainsthatappearafter unitisheated. A spongeor dishcloth
whichisnotcleanwillleavefilmandsoilladendetergentwaterwhichmaycause
stainson surface after area is heated.
•Whenfrying,useaspatter shieldto reducespattering.
•Usecorrectcontrolsettingsand cookwarelarge enoughto holdfood and liquid
topreventboiloversand spattering.
•Ifa bad spilloveroccurswhilecooking,spillsmay becleanedfromthecooktop
whileitishottopreventa toughcleaningchorelater. Usingextremecare, wipe
with a clean damptowel.Becarefultoavoidburnsfromsteamorhandtouching
the hotcooktop.
