CAUTION:Donotlettensionerarmsnapbacktothe
freearmposition,severedamagemayoccurtotheten
sioner.
1.Disconnectnegativebatterycablefrombattery.
2.Raisevehicle.
3.Removerightfrontwheel.
4.Removetheinnersplashshield.
5.Rotatebelttensioner(8)untilitcontactsitsstop.Re
movethebelt(7),thenslowlyrotatethetensionerinto
thefreearmposition.
6.Lowerthevehicle.
7.Openthehood.
8.Partiallydrainthecoolingsystembelowtheupperra
diatorhose.
9.Removetheenginecover.
10.Disconnectthefreshairmakeuphose(4)fromtheair
cleanerbody(1).
11.Removethepushpin(3).
12.Removetwobolts(2)fromtheaircleanerbody(1).
13.Loosentheclamp(5)attheresonatorandremovethe
aircleanerbody(1).
14.Removewindshieldwasherreservoir(1).
15.Disconnectradiatorfanelectricalconnectors.
16.Removethewiringharnessfromthelowerfan.
17.Removethefourmountingbolts(4)fromtheradiator
fan(3)assembly.
18.Removeradiatorfanassemblyfromthecoreshroud
(2).

19.Disconnectthegeneratorfieldelectricalconnector(1).
20.RemovetheB+retainer(2)andremovetheB+cable.
21.Removethegeneratorfasteners(1).
22.Removethegenerator(2).
23.Installthekitsuppliedengineblockheater(1)andbolt
(3)intotheenglineblockport(2).
24.Tightentheboltto12Nm(8ft.lbs.).

25.Plugthekitsuppliedcord(1)intotheblockheaterel
ement,routethecordup,towardsthedriverside.Se
curethecordtothedipsticktubeandexistingvehicle
harness(2)withtheattachedretainers.
NOTE:Besurethecorddoesnotinterferewiththe
dipstick.
NOTE:TIPMremovedforclarity.
26.Routethecord(1)towardsthedriverside,behindtheTIPM,securethecordtotheexistingvehicleharnesswiththe
attachedretainers.
27.PushtheretainingtabintothetopoftheECmodulebracket.
28.Seatthecord(1)usingtheattachedcliptotheinnerfender.

drivebelt,thebeltMUSTberoutedcorrectly.Ifnot,
theenginemayoverheatduetothewaterpumprotat
inginthewrongdirection.
46.Installnewbelt(7).Routethebeltaroundallpulleys
excepttheidlerpulley(2).Rotatethetensionerarm
(8)untilitcontactsitsstopposition.Routethebelt(7)
aroundtheidler(2)andslowlyletthetensioner(8)ro
tateintothebelt.Makesurethebelt(7)isseatedonto
allpulleys.
