• Camera: Capture photos and videos with the 8MP

auto-focus camera in “Photos & videos” on page 26.

• Dual-SIM Slot: No need to change SIM cards—use

two at the same time.

Set up & go

Note: This phone supports data-intensive apps and

services. It is strongly recommended that you purchase

a data plan that meets your needs. Contact your service

provider for details.

When you turn on your new phone, you can create or

enter a Google™ account so that you can download

apps, use Gmail™, and much more:

1Press and hold

2Touch the Android™

image to begin setup.

3Touch a button to

Create a Google

account, Sign in with

one you have, or Skip.

You can log into your account from a computer at

accounts.google.com.

4Enter details to create or sign into your account.

When your phone confirms the account, it shows

account sync options.

Press = sleep.

Hold = turn off.

Power/

Lock Key

•To change whether your phone shows the Google

account’s contacts, Gmail™, and calendar, touch

the Google account name.

•To add another account, touch Add account. For

details, see “Email” on page 21.

•To exit setup touch Home .

Wi-Fi connect

To use a Wi-Fi network for even faster Internet access,

touch the status bar at the top of the home screen and

drag it down. Touch the Wi-Fi networks available

notification to select a preferred network.

You can also touch Menu > System settings >

Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings to search for and

connect to wireless networks. There’s more in “Wi-Fi

networks” on page 34.

activate SIM cards

Your smartphone supports two SIM cards. When two

SIM cards are installed, you can activate one or both.

1From the home screen, touch Menu > System

settings > More >Dual SIM Settings >

Enable/Disable SIM 1,Enable/Disable SIM 2, or both.

2Set Data Service to SIM 1 or SIM 2.

Note: If only one SIM card is installed, it is activated by

default.

Note: Only SIM 1 supports 3G data network.

Browse and download thousands of the coolest apps on

the planet from Google Play™.

Download new apps with “Browse & install apps” on

page 12. You can install a microSD memory card

(optional) in your phone, and load it up with photos,

videos, and music from your computer (see “Memory

card & file management” on page 40).

Unlock & lock touchscreen

To unlock the screen, press the Power key, then

touch and flick to anyway.

To lock the screen, press the Power key, or let the

screen time out (don’t press anything).

Menu, home, back, & search

Touch Home to close a menu or app and return to

the home screen. In the home screen, touch and hold

Home to see a list of recent apps, then touch an app

to open it.

Tip: To remove an item from the recent apps list, flick it

left or right.

Touch Menu to open options for the current app or

screen.

Touch Back to go back.

Touch and flick to:

to open the camera.

to make a call.

to send a text.

turn on/off Wi-Fi .

Touch Search for text search. Touch and hold for

voice search or to perform voice actions.

Touchscreen on/off

To save your battery, prevent accidental touches, or

when you want to wipe smudges off your touchscreen,

put the touchscreen to sleep by pressing the Power key.

To wake up the touchscreen, just press the Power key

again.

To change how long your smartphone waits before the

screen goes to sleep automatically, touch Menu >

System settings > Display > Sleep.

Tip: To make the screen lock when it goes to sleep, see

“Screen lock” on page 44.

Note: Your

touchscreenmightstay

dark if the sensor just

above it is covered.

Don't use covers or

screen protectors (even clear ones) that cover this

sensor.

Rotate the screen

When you turn your phone, the touchscreen can rotate

to stay right-side up:

Restart your phone, turn Airplane mode on and off, or

change the sound setting.

Voice actions let you perform many tasks just by

speaking to your phone: call or text your friends, get

directions, set an alarm, and more.

Tip: You can also touch in the Google™ Search

widget.

If voice search doesn’t understand what you said, it

presents a list of search terms and actions you can touch

to choose.

Some actions, like “send email” and “note to self,” open

a panel that prompts you to complete the action by

speaking or typing more information.
