The Parasol water heating system uses the solar energy
for the outdoor pool heating and constitutes a 100% green
and sustainable solution. It is very economical since no
heat exchangers are required and the swimming pool
water ows through the collectors and is heated directly.
This attractive system offers durable savings combined
with increased quality of life. The design is inspired by
the form of the sun. Just like the contours of the sun but
also with a perfectly calculated inclination angle, so that
each sunbeam is captured, independent of its inclination
angle. A southerly facing aspect is therefore not necessary.
Investing in Parasol is not only a life choice, but also an
ecological and positive contribution to the environment.
Pools can be used for the extended period of March -
November or even longer, depending on the hours of the
solar irradiation. Parasol offers you the ideal solution for an
enjoyable “summer” the whole year round.
Warmth in practice
Manufactured out of high quality recyclable plastic, it is protected against frost and storm. Furthermore, it is black, to
maximise heat absorption and warmth retention. Firstly, due to the isolating effect of the double wall hood from which
the rain water simply ows away keeping it from the warmed water inside the collectors. An effective distribution
system takes care of the rest. The quick circulating water ensures that fast cooling is averted. Owing to this feature,
the water temperature increases in the Spring and in the Autumn on a sunny day by an average of 3°C per day and
throughout the whole swimming season by a minimum of at least 6 - 7°C.

INSTALLATION OF COLLECTORS
The collectors should preferably be tted horizontally. The possible scenarios for installation of the collectors are:
yFlat roof of a shed, garage, technical area, etc.
ySloped roof no more than 35°, faced to the South / East
yPavement
yLawn
yOpen pergola
yParasol stand
During the tting of the collectors, you have to take into consideration the following aspects:
yPossible shading by nearby buildings, trees, etc.
yThe distance between the technical area (swimming pool) and the collector
yCollector temperature sensor
yPossible wind sensibility
yUse ground liner if placed directly on the ground
Shading
The collectors must be positioned so that they catch direct sunlight throughout the day. If this proves to be problematic
due to circumstances, nd an area with the most sunshine hours, preferably between 11.00 h and 16.00 h in general
shading has considerable negative inuence on the systems performance.
Collector’s temperature sensor
The collector must be positioned so that the temperature sensor is faced to the South / East.
Sensibility to the wind
As the collectors are not sensitive to the wind, you can place these without further measures or restraints.

Exceptions:
yTiled roofs. Because roof tiles can come of under stormy conditions, we do not recommend placing the collectors
on tiled roofs without tighten them.
yOpen pergolas. If chosen to place the collectors on an open pergola keep in mind that winds can blow hard from
beneath. Tighten the collector on the wooden or metal beams using stainless steel screws.

Ground fabric liner.
If the collectors are placed on an untreated surface it is
advisable to use fabric liner underneath the collector.
HOW TO FIX THE COLLECTOR´S TEMPERATURE SENSOR
HOW TO CONNECT THE COLLECTORS
Connect the special PE T-connection including
the stainless steal holder, designed for the (small)
temperature sensor, on the collectors return tube as
close as possible underneath the collector. (1)
The collectors need to be connected with PE tubes
(heavy duty tubes). Don’t use PVC tubes for they are
not ultra violet resistant. Best is to connect through
PE sockets. The supply-tube needs to be connected
to the right side and the return-tube to the left side.

The collectors have to be fed with water from the pool through a separate
pump and not to be connected to the lter pump. The water is diverted to the
collector after the ltering. The capacity of the pump depends mainly on the
amount of collectors installed. The pump must have the capacity of 700 lt per
hour per installed collector. Like the lter pump, the collector pump must be
resistant to light chemicals, typically found in pool water. The collector pump
must have auto-suction and be tted with a lter. The pump capacity in relation
with the number of connected collectors has been calculated.

POINT OF CONNECTION BETWEEN SUPPLY-TUBE AND THE COLLECTOR PUMP
In private pools, the supply-tube of the collector pump has to be connected to the supply-tube from the pool before
the circulation pump or through a pre-installation for heating systems. Use a tube with sufcient diameter.
We advice to:
yUse a ball cap to eventually isolate the solar collector system.
yPlace pools temperature sensor as close as possible to pool supply-tube. (See also “Connection Point temperature
sensor pool”)
yInside the technical area you normally use PVC parts, please do not forget to switch to PE materials for all
connection parts and tubing which are exposed to sunlight.
POINT OF CONNECTION OF HEATED WATER FROM THE COLLECTOR
The return tube from the collectors, is to be placed - after the sand lter - in the return tube of the lter system, so the
heated water will enter the swimming pool through the jets. Use a tube with sufcient diameter.
We advice to:
yUse a ball cap to eventually isolate the solar collector system.
yEventually place a tap in this tube.
yInside the technical area you normally use PVC parts, please do not forget to switch to PE materials for all
connection parts and tubing which are exposed to sunlight
All tubes used to install, must be of PE and
must have the correct diameter. In case of
more than 4 collectors, you have to design
a pipeline system in which the length of the
supply-tubes and the length of the return-
tubes of all collectors are equal.

POINT OF CONNECTION OF THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR
The point of connection of this sensor, along with the non-return valves, determines mainly the proper function of the
system. It is therefore very important that this sensor is placed correctly to measure the pools water temperature as
accurate as possible.
Possible positions:
A) Supply tube of the lter-pump (preferred position). When placed into the supply tube from the lter pump, the
sensor must be xed before the diversion to the collector-pump.
B) Supply tube of collector-pump (1b). When placed into the supply tube of the collector-pump, the sensor (1b)
must be placed as close as possible to the tee that divides the water to the collector-pump. We advise to insulate all
tubes within the technical area to avoid false reading from the temperature sensor.

yFilter-pump switched off / collector-pump switched on: in this case the water runs through the lter and therefore
causes a small circuit that heats-up rapidly and causes the collector-pump to switch off. The pool does not heat up.
yFilter-pump switches on / collector-pump switches off; in this case a part of the water runs through the collectors
and causes a malfunction within the system. The pool does not heat up.
NOTE: It is important to install the non-return valves in the supply-tubes that have the same tube diameter or more.
Just like the position of the pool-sensor, the usage of non-return valves is crucial for this system’s
correct operation. The lter-pump and the collector-pump are not always working at the same
time. Without the usage of the non-return valves the following problems may occur:
