The

North

Star

Micro-Disk

System

(MDS-A-O)

complete

floppy

disk

system

for

use

with

5-100

bus

computers.

The

system

includes

the

disk

controller

board,

one

floppy

disk

drive,

power

regulation,

cables,

software

and

documentation.

The

software

provided

diskette

and

includes

the

North

Star

Disk

Operating

System,

BASIC

Language

System,

Monitor,

and

various

utility

programs.

The

system

capable

controlling

four

disk

drives.

Each

disk

drive

can

record

179,200

bytes

information

diskette,

thus

allowing

716,800

bytes

on-line

disk

storage.

Addition

disk

drives,

power

supplies,

and

cabinets

are

available

options

you

have

purchased

the

MDS-A-D

kit,

then

first

WARRANTY

The

MICRO

DISK SYSTEM.

Computers,

Inc.

warrants

that

copy

identical

the

North

star

master

copy

the

software

has

been

stored

the

customer

diskette

and

can

read

into

computer

RAM

memory

from

the

diskette

properly

functioning

MICRO

DISK

SYSTEM

using

the

North

Star

disk

controller

board

and

disk

drive.

malfunctions

has

not

been

damaged

customer

and

has

not

been

operated

with

the

write-protect

will

re-write

the

diskette

INFORMATION

Read

each

section

beginning

the

first

instruction

step

that

Perform

all

operations

the

sequence

indicated.

including

any

notes

accompany

the

beginning

WORK

AREA

AND

TOOLS

Start

with

clean,

well-lit

and

well-ventilated

area

work.

The

area

should

enough

accommodate

the

kit,

tools,

parts

assembly

instructions.

Suggested

tools

screwdrivers,

needle-nose

pliers,

diagonal

cutters,

soldering

iron,

and masking

tape.

TIPS

soldering

problems

easier

and

give

the

board

clean,

professional

appearance.

SOCKET

INSTALLATION

Integrated

circuit

(IC)

sockets

can

installed

first

inserting

them

into

the

printed

circuit

board,

then

placing

another

flat

board

over

the

sockets

and

finally

turning

over

this

sandwich.
