Installing the batteries
The ZAPPER needs 2 new “AAAA” alkaline batteries.
1Remove the battery cover from the back of the ZAPPER by pressing down on the tab.
2Match the batteries to the +/- marks inside the battery case, then insert the batteries.
3Press the battery cover back into place.
Important notes:
- I order to avoid havi g to reprogram your ZAPPER after you remove
the batteries, you will eed to i sert ew batteries withi 5 mi utes.
Also, it is best that you do ot use rechargeable batteries.

1 POWER (red LED – Light Emitting Diode)
The POWER key operates the same function it did on your original remote
control. The LED underneath the POWER key will light up red whenever a
key is pressed.
2 Closed: CHANNEL +/-, VOLU E+/- and UTE
The CH+/- and VOL+/- keys operate just as those on your original
remote control.
Open: UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and OK (mute)
The navigation keys (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and OK) operate just as those
on your original remote control. These keys are also used to set up your
ZAPPER.
3 16:9
This key provides you the (16:9) wide screen view function, if available on
your original remote).
4 ENU
The MENU key controls the same function as it did on your original remote.
5 GUIDE
In TV, DVD and/or SAT mode you will obtain the “Guide” function (if availa-
ble on your original remote).
6 AV
In TV mode you will obtain the AV / Input function. In VCR mode you will
obtain the “TV/VCR” function, if available on your original remote. In DVD
mode you will obtain the “TV/DVD” function, if available on your original
remote. In DVD mode you will obtain the “TV/SAT” or “TV/DTV” function, if
available on your original remote.
7 AGIC
The MAGIC key (= setup key) is used to set up your ZAPPER.
8 TRANSPORT keys (REW, PAUSE, PLAY etc.)
These keys operate the transport functions (PLAY,FF, REW etc.) of
your device. To prevent accidental recording, the RECORD key
must be pressed twice to start recording.

Direct code set up
Example: To set up the ZAPPER for your Television follow the instructions below.
1Make sure your TV is switched on (not on standby).
2 Find your Television code in the Set-Up Code section (page 52-66). Codes are listed by
brand name. The most popular codes are listed first.
3 Open the flap to enable access to the MAGIC key.
4 Press the TV key.
5Press and hold the AGIC key until the LED blinks twice (The LED
underneath the POWER key will blink once then twice).
6 Enter your 5-digit code according to the chart below.
The LED underneath the POWER key will blink twice.
7 Now, aim the ZAPPER at your Television and press POWER. If your
Television switches OFF, your ZAPPER should be ready to operate your device.
8If the functions do not work properly, repeat steps 4 –7 using another code listed under
your brand.
For example: To enter a Sony TV code 33121, you would press CHANNEL +,
CHANNEL +, VOLUME +, VOLUME -, VOLUME +.
To set up your DVD player or Satellite Receiver please press the corresponding
device key during step 4.
Important notes:
- Some codes are quite similar. If your televisio does ot respo d or is ot fu ctio i g
properly with o e of the codes, follow steps 1-5 with each code listed for your bra d.
- If o e of the codes listed for your bra d operate your televisio , follow the Search
Method described i the ext sectio . The Search Method ca be used eve if your
bra d is ot listed at all.

Search ethod
If your Television does not respond to the ZAPPER after trying all the codes listed for your
brand, try searching for your code.
Example: to search for your TV code:
1Make sure your TV is switched on (not on standby).
2 Open the flap to enable access to the MAGIC key.
3 Press the TV key.
4 Press and hold the AGIC key until the LED blinks twice (The LED
underneath the POWER key will blink once then twice).
5 Next, press the OK (mute), DOWN, DOWN.
6 Point the ZAPPER at your television. Next, alternate between POWER and CHANNEL -
until your Television turns OFF. You may have to press these keys many times (up to 150!),
so please be patient. Remember, you must aim the ZAPPER at your device the entire time
you are searching for your code.
7 When your device turns off, press and release AGIC to store the code. The ZAPPER
should now be ready to operate your Television. Turn your device back on and try all the
remote’s functions to ensure they are working properly. If some of the ZAPPER’S com-
mands are not operating correctly, try the search method again, you may be using the
wrong code.

Code Blink Out
Example: To blink out your TV code:
1 Open the flap to enable access to the MAGIC key.
2 Press the TV key.
3 Press and hold the AGIC key until the red LED blinks twice
(the LED underneath the POWER key will blink once then twice).
4 Next, press OK (mute), UP, DOWN.
5For the first digit of your 5-digit code, press RIGHT and count the red blinks.
6 For the second digit, press LEFT and count the red blinks.
7 For the third digit, press UP and count the red blinks.
8 For the fourth digit, press DOWN and count the red blinks.
9For the fifth digit, press OK (mute) and count the red blinks.

It is possible to change the mode of any device key. This is useful if you want to set up two of
the same devices on the ZAPPER. The code can be set up using “Direct code set up” (page 4) or
“Search Method” (page 5). To change a device key, see the example below.
Example: to program a second television on the SAT key.
1 Open the flap to enable access to the MAGIC key.
2 Press and hold the AGIC key until the LED blinks twice (The LED underneath the
POWER key will blink once then twice).
3 Press and release OK (mute) then DOWN then RIGHT. The LED underneath the POWER
key will blink twice.
4 Press TV.
5Press SAT. The LED underneath the POWER key will blink twice. The SAT key has now
become a second TV key and can be used to program a second Television.

Try the search method.
A) Try all the codes listed for your brand.
B) Try the search method.
You may be using the wrong code. Try Direct Set-Up
again trying each code listed under your brand or
start the search method over again to locate the
proper code.
If your original remote did not have CHANNEL +/-
keys, the ZAPPER may not operate this function.
Make sure you are using new batteries and are
aiming the ZAPPER at your device.
Replace batteries with 2 new “AAAA” alkaline
batteries.

POWER tasten betjener den samme funktion som på din originale
fjernbetjening. LED’et under POWER tasten begynder at lyse rødt, når der
trykkes på en tast.
2 Lukket: KANAL +/- LYDSTYRKE +/- og MUTE (CHANNEL +/-, VOLUME+/- and MUTE)
Tasterne CH+/- og VOL+/- fungerer ligesom dem på din originale
fjernbetjening.
Åben: OP, NED, VENSTRE, HØ RE og OK (mute) (UP, DOWN, LEFT,
RIGHT and OK (mute))
Navigeringstasterne (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RI HT og OK) fungerer som på din
originale fjernbetjening. Disse taster bruges også til at klargøre din ZAPPER.
3 16:9
Med denne tast indstiller du (16:9) bredbillede, hvis funktionen også var på din
originale fjernbetjening.
4 MENU
MENU tasten betjener den samme funktion som på din originale fjernbetjening.
5 GUIDE
I TV, DVD og/eller SAT modus får du “ uide” funktionen (hvis den var på din
originale fjernbetjening).
6 AV
I TV modus får du AV / Input funktionen. I VCR modus får du “TV/VCR”

Programmering
Direkte programmering med kode
Eksempel: For at programmere din ZAPPER til dit fjernsyn skal du følge instrukserne
nedenfor.
1Sørg for at fjernsynet er tændt (ikke i standby).
2 Find din fjernsynskode i afsnittet Programmering Kode (side 52-66). Koderne er listede efter
mærkenavn. De mest populære koder står øverst.
3Åbn flappen for at komme til MA IC tasten.
4 Tryk på TV tasten.
5Tryk på og hold MAGIC tasten, indtil LED’et blinker to gange (LED under
POWER tasten blinker en gang og derefter to gange).
6 Indtast din 5-cifrede kode i henhold til skemaet nedenfor. LED’et under
POWER tasten blinker to gange.
7 Ret nu ZAPPEREN mod dit fjernsyn og tryk på POWER. Hvis dit fjernsyn slukkes,
er din ZAPPER klar til at betjene dit apparat.
8Hvis funktionerne ikke virker korrekt, skal du gentage punkt 4-7 og bruge en anden kode,
som står ved dit mærke.
For eksempel: For at indtaste en “Sony” TV kode 33121, skal du trykke UP, UP, RI HT, LEFT, RI HT
For at programmere din DVD-afspiller eller satellitmodtager skal du trykke på den tilsvarende
tast i punkt 4.

Søgemetode
Hvis dit fjernsyn ikke reagerer på ZAPPEREN, efter du har prøvet alle koderne til dit mærke,
skal du forsøge at søge din kode.
Eksempel: for at søge din TV-kode:
1Sørg for at fjernsynet er tændt (ikke i standby).
2 Åbn flappen for at komme til MAGIC tasten.
3 Tryk på TV tasten.
4 Tryk på og hold MAGIC tasten, indtil LED blinker to gange (LED under POWER tasten
blinker en gang og derefter to gange).
5 Tryk derefter på OK (mute), DOWN, DOWN.
6 Ret ZAPPEREN mod fjernsynet. Derefter skifter du mellem POWER og CHANNEL – indtil dit
fjernsyn slukkes. Det er måske nødvendigt at trykke på disse knapper adskillige gange
(op til 150 gange!), så vær tålmodig. Husk at du skal rette ZAPPEREN mod apparatet hele
tiden, mens du søger efter din kode.
7 Når apparatet slukkes, skal du trykke på og slippe MAGIC for at gemme koden.
Nu skulle ZAPPEREN være klar til at betjene dit fjernsyn. Tænd apparatet igen og afprøv
alle fjernbetjeningens funktioner for at sikre, at de virker korrekt. Hvis nogle af ZAPPERENS
kommandoer ikke virker korrekt, skal du prøve søgemetoden igen; måske bruger du en
forkert kode.

Blinke kode frem
Efter du har brugt Søgemetoden, kan du finde ud af, hvilken kode ZAPPEREN reagerede på, ved at
blinke koden frem. Det er meget praktisk, at du kender din TV-kode til senere brug. Og husk, at du
kun kan blinke din kode frem, efter at ZAPPEREN kan betjene dit apparat.
Eksempel: For at blinke din TV-kode frem:
1 Åbn flappen for at komme til MA IC tasten.
2 Tryk på TV tasten.
3 Tryk på og hold MAGIC tasten, indtil det røde LED blinker to gange (LED under POWER
tasten blinker en gang og derefter to gange).
4 Tryk derefter på OK (mute), UP, DOWN.
5For det første ciffer i din 5-cifrede kode, skal du trykke på RIGHT og tælle de røde blink.
6 For det andet ciffer skal du trykke på LEFT og tælle de røde blink.
7 For det tredje ciffer skal du trykke på UP og tælle de røde blink.
8 For det fjerde ciffer skal du trykke på DOWN og tælle de røde blink.
