◗Do not use the appliance if the plug,the cord or the appliance itself

is damaged.

Preparing the appliance for use

1Before you connect the appliance,check whether the mains voltage

indicated on the appliance corresponds to the mains voltage in

your home.

See the type plate on the bottom of the appliance.

2Place the appliance on a horizontal surface.

Do not put the appliance on a hot surface.

Keep the appliance out of the reach of children and make sure that

they are unable to pull at the cord.

C3Put the plug in an earthed wall socket.

You can store excess cord at the back of the appliance.

Prevent the cord from coming into contact with hot surfaces.

C4The word‘SET’ appears on the display.

C5To set the clock:press the‘H’ button.

The display will show 0:00 and the first digit (the hour indication) will

be blinking.

C6Adjust the blinking digit by pressing the‘H’ button again.

To put the hours forward quickly and uninterruptedly,keep the button

pressed in until you have almost reached the correct hour.Then release

the button and set the exact hour by pressing the button briefly until

the display shows the correct hour.

C7Set the minutes by pressing the‘M’ button.

Proceed in the same way as for setting the hours, but now use the‘M’

button instead of the‘H’button.

Note that after a power cut of more than one minute, you will have to

set the clock again.

C8Fill the water tank with water and put the jug in place.

C9Switch the appliance on by pressing the Ibutton.

The pilot light goes on.

Let the appliance run until the water tank is completely empty.

10 Switch the appliance off by pressing the Ibutton.

Let the appliance cool down for at least 3 minutes.

11 Let the appliance complete another brewing cycle without putting

coffee in it.

Brewing coffee

C1Put a paper filter (type 1x4 or no.4) in the filter holder.

Do not forget to fold the sealed edges of the filter.

Some versions come with a permanent filter.In this case,you do not

need to use a paper filter.

C2Fill the water tank with water and put the jug in place.

The level indications on the left apply to large cups (120 ml).

The level indications on the right apply to small cups (80 ml).

C3Put pre-ground coffee (filter-fine grind) in the filter.

For large cups:use one full measuring spoon for each cup.

For small cups:use one level measuring spoon for each cup.

4Close the lid.

C5Select the strength and the amount of coffee you want to brew:

- Gold [:for less than half a jug of mild coffee.

- Gold p:for more than half a jug of mild coffee.

- Mocca p:for more than half a jug of robust coffee.

- Mocca [:for less than half a jug of robust coffee.

Switching the appliance on or off

Switching the appliance on right away.

C1Press the Ibutton to switch the appliance on right away.

Switching the appliance on by means of the timer.

C1Press theAUTO button to set the timer.

The yellow pilot light will go on.

2Press the‘H’ button or the‘M’ button.

The corresponding digits will start blinking.

3Adjust the blinking digits by pressing the‘H’ or the‘M’ button again.

A few seconds after you have finished setting the timer,the digits will

stop blinking and the normal time will reappear.

You can always check whether you have set the timer correctly by

pressing the‘AUTO’button.

The yellow pilot light goes on and the appliance will start brewing

coffee at the preset time.

4The next time you want the coffee maker to switch on

automatically at the preset time,press the‘AUTO’ button.

◗The display will alternately show the normal time and the time that

has elapsed since the brewing cycle has started (preceded by the

letter F).

Switching the appliance off

1Switch the appliance off by pressing the Ibutton.

If you have not switched the appliance off,the appliance will

automatically switch itself off after two hours.

C2Remove the paper filter and throw it away.

If you have used the permanent filter, you can simply empty it,rinse it

and use it again.

Let the appliance cool down for at least 3 minutes before you start

brewing coffee again.

Cleaning

1Unplug the appliance.

2Clean the appliance with a moist cloth.

Never immerse the appliance in water!

3Clean the jug and the filter holder in hot soapy water or in the

dishwasher.

Descaling

Descale your appliance regularly.In case of normal use:

- 2 or 3 times a year if you are using soft water (less than 18°DH);

- 4 or 5 times a year if you are using hard water (more than 18° DH).

Turn to your local water board for information about the water

hardness in your area.

1Fill the water tank with white vinegar.Do not put a filter and coffee

in the filter holder.

2Let the appliance complete two runs.

See‘Brewing coffee’.

Let the appliance cool down before you start the second run.

3Let the appliance complete two more runs with fresh,cold water

to remove any vinegar and scale residues.

4Clean the separate parts.

Replacement

Cord

- If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged it may only be replaced

by a cord of the original type.Turn to your Philips dealer or the

Philips organisation in your country for replacement.

Jug

- You can order a new jug from your Philips dealer or Philips Service

Centre under type number HD 7952.

Permanent filter

-The permanent filter is available under type number HD 7920.

Préparation de l'appareil à l'emploi

1Avant de brancher l'appareil,assurez-vous que la tension indiquée

sur l'appareil correspond à votre tension de réseau.

Voyez la plaque signalétique au-dessous de l'appareil.

2Placez l'appareil sur une surface horizontale.

Ne pas mettre l'appareil sur une surface chaude.

Tenir l'appareil hors de portée des enfants et veiller à ce qu'ils ne

puissent pas tirer sur le cordon.

C3Insérez la fiche dans une prise mise à la terre.

Vous pouvez ranger l'excès de cordon à l'arrière de l'appareil.

Empêcher le cordon d'entrer en contact avec des surfaces chaudes.

C4Le mot "SET" apparaît à l'afficheur.

C5Pour régler l'horloge,poussez sur le bouton "H".

L'afficheur affichera 0:00 et le premier chiffre (le chiffre des heures)

clignotera.

C6Ajustez le chiffre clignotant en poussant de nouveau sur le

bouton "H".

Pour avancer les heures rapidement et sans interruption, maintenez le

bouton enfoncé jusqu'à ce que vous ayez pratiquement atteint l'heure

exacte.Relâchez ensuite le bouton et réglez l'heure exacte en poussant

sur le bouton par petits coups successifs jusqu'à ce que l'afficheur

affiche l'heure exacte.

C7Réglez les minutes en poussant sur le bouton "M".

Procédez de la même façon que pour régler les heures,en utilisant

cette fois le bouton "M" au lieu du bouton "H".

Notez qu'après une coupure de courant de plus d'une minute,vous

devrez remettre l'horloge à l'heure.

C8Remplissez le réservoir d'eau et mettez la verseuse en place.

C9Allumez l'appareil en poussant sur le bouton I.

Le témoin de contrôle s'allume.

Laissez fonctionner l'appareil jusqu'à ce que le réservoir soit

entièrement vide.

10 Eteignez l'appareil en poussant sur le bouton I.

Laissez-le refroidir pendant au moins 3 minutes.

11 Répétez une fois l'opération avant de mettre du café.

Préparation de café

C1Mettez un filtre en papier (type 1x4 ou n°4) dans le porte-filtre.

N'oubliez pas de plier les bords inférieur et latéral du filtre.

Certaines versions sont pourvues d'un filtre permanent.Dans ce cas,

vous ne devez pas utiliser de filtre en papier.

C2Remplissez le réservoir d'eau et mettez la verseuse en place.

Les indications de niveau à gauche correspondent à de grandes tasses

(120 ml).

Les indications de niveau à droite correspondent à de petites tasses

(80 ml).

C3Mettez du café moulu (à grains fins pour filtre) dans le filtre.

Pour de grandes tasses :comptez une mesure pleine de café par tasse.

Pour de petites tasses : comptez une mesure rase par tasse.

4Fermez le couvercle.

C5Réglez le goût et la quantité de café que vous désirez :

- Gold [:pour moins d'une demi-verseuse de café doux.

- Gold p:pour plus d'une demi-verseuse de café doux.

- Mocca p:pour plus d'une demi-verseuse de café fort.

- Mocca [:pour moins d'une demi-verseuse de café fort.

Mise en marche/arrêt de l'appareil

Mise en marche immédiate de l'appareil.

C1Poussez sur le bouton Ipour allumer l'appareil immédiatement.

Mise en marche programmée de l'appareil.

C1Poussez sur le boutonAUTO pour régler la minuterie.

Le témoin jaune va s'allumer.

2Poussez sur le bouton "H" ou le bouton "M".

Les chiffres correspondants vont commencer à clignoter.

3Ajustez les chiffres clignotants en poussant de nouveau sur le

bouton "H" ou "M".

Quelques secondes après avoir terminé le réglage de la minuterie,les

chiffres cesseront de clignoter et l'heure normale réapparaîtra.

Vous pouvez toujours vérifier le bon réglage de la minuterie en

poussant sur le bouton "AUTO".
