Satinelle Sensitive - with unique pain softener

With your new Satinelle Sensitive epilator you can remove undesired hair

quickly, easily and effectively.

The combination of the well-proven epilator disc system with a newly designed

pain softener brings a revolution in epilating.

Satinelle Sensitive makes epilating more comfortable and less painful than

ever.

Your Satinelle Sensitive epilator is particularly suitable for removing hair from

your legs.

The rotating discs catch even the shortest hairs (1⁄2mm) and pull them out at

the root.

The hair that grows back is soft and fine.

So, no more stubble!

Epilating with Satinelle Sensitive leaves your skin smooth and hairfree for

several weeks.

While you are epilating, the vibrating pain softener relaxes your skin like a

massage, masking the feel of epiIation (fig.1).

As a result, you will feel hardly any pain at all.

To make the best use of your Satinelle Sensitive, familiarise yourself with the

appliance.

Therefore, read these directions for use first in conjunction with the

illustrations.

Important

•Before connecting the appliance, please check that the voltage

indicated on the appliance corresponds to the mains voltage in

your home.

•Regular cleaning and good maintenance ensures optimum results

and guarantees longer life time for the Satinelle Sensitive.

•Do not allow the appliance to come into contact with water.

•Keep the protective cap on the appliance when not in use.

•Do not use the Satinelle Sensitive if you suffer with varicose veins,

spots or blemishes, or when the skin is irritated. Consult your

doctor first.

•Regular skin massage with a massaging glove or loofah can help

to prevent ingrowing hairs.

•Use of an epilator may cause reddening or irritation of the skin.This

is a normal reaction which will quickly disappear.

However, if the irritation remains for more than three days consult

your doctor.

•When the appliance is switched on, keep it away from the hair on

your head, your eye lashes and eye brows, and also away from

clothes, brushes, wires, cords etc. to prevent accidents and

damage.

•Keep the appliance away from children.

•Use only with the mains cord supplied with the appliance.

To protect the environment, this appliance is equipped with nickel-

hydride (NiMH) batteries which contain less than 0.01% cadmium.

Yet we advise you to ensure that the batteries are separated from the

normal household refuse and disposed of at an officially assigned place

when discarding your appliance in due course. Please refer to section

"Protecting the environment".

The built-in rechargeable (NiCd) batteries contain substances

which may pollute the environment.

When discarding your appliance in due course, please ensure that the

batteries are separated from the normal household refuse and disposed

of at an officially assigned place. Please refer to section "Protecting the

environment".

Charging (for cordless use)

Your Satinelle Sensitive can run on the built-in rechargeable batteries (if

charged) as well as directly from the mains (wall socket).

Charge the batteries for at least 16 hours before first cordless use and/or

if the appliance has not been used for a long time (i.e. 6 months or

longer).

To charge the rechargeable batteries:

- Ensure that the Satinelle Sensitive is switched off (fig. 3).

- Insert the small plug into the Satinelle Sensitive. Ensure that the plug is

pushed in fully (fig. 4).

- Insert the mains plug into the wall socket. The pilot light indicates that the

batteries are being charged (fig. 5).

The light remains on as long as the appliance is connected to the mains

supply.

• Afull charge of the batteries provides you with approximately 30 minutes

(NiCd version) or 40 minutes (NiMH version) of cordless epilation.

• The batteries will be fully charged after approx. 16 hours.

There is no danger if your Satinelle Sensitive remains connected to the

mains. But in order to guarantee the longest possible working life of the

batteries do not charge for more than 24 hours.

• At least twice a year let the appliance run cordless until the batteries are

empty. Then recharge immediately (16 hours).

This ensures optimum performance and a long life of the batteries. You can

do this even when the Satinelle Sensitive is not in use.

• Charge the Satinelle Sensitive at temperatures between 5° and 35° C. This

guarantees maximum life of the rechargeable batteries.

• To minimize the discharge of the batteries, store the Satinelle Sensitive in a

cool (0° - 25° C) and dry place.

Epilating on mains power

• If you notice a drop in performance during cordless use, simply plug the

appliance in (fig. 4) and use your Satinelle Sensitive directly from the mains.

• Do not use the Satinelle Sensitive directly from the mains when the

rechargeable batteries are full.

• When the rechargeable batteries are empty, your Satinelle Sensitive may

refuse to start operating on mains power right away.

If this happens, switch the appliance off and allow it to charge for at least

one minute.

After this, you can use your Satinelle Sensitive directly from the mains.

How to use

• Make sure your skin is clean, free from grease and creams. Do not apply

any cream before epilating.

Hairs are easier to epilate after a bath or a shower, but your skin should be

completely dry while epilating.

• If you use the appliance for the first time, we advise you to start at a place

with comparatively little hair growth so that you may get accustomed to

epilating.

• As the hairs are removed by the root, your skin may feel a little discomfort

after epilating with Satinelle Sensitive for the first time. But this effect will

gradually lessen with each use.

Re-growth tends to be softer both in appearance and touch.

• After use, you could apply a mild cream or body milk, which will help reduce

possible skin irritation after epilation. It makes the skin feel smoother and

gives you a fresh feeling.

- Switch the Satinelle Sensitive on, selecting the speed and pain softener

setting. (Any combination of settings is possible.)

Speed

•For areas where the hairs are thinner, for hard-to-reach places and for areas

with bones under the skin (such as knees and ankles), select speed I

(normal speed) (fig. 6).

•For larger surfaces and thicker hairs, select speed II (high speed) (fig. 7).

Pain softener (fig. 8, 9).

• For areas with bones close under the skin (e.g. knees, ankles), select

normal intensity ÎÎ.

• For the more fleshy areas (e.g. calves), select extra intensity ÓÓ.

- Pull the skin taut with your free hand to make the hairs stand up (fig. 10).

- Place the Satinelle Sensitive in a straight angle on the skin, with the On/Off

switch pointing towards you (fig. 11).

- Now move the appliance slowly over the skin against the direction of growth

of the hairs (fig. 12).

Do not apply pressure.

- To switch the appliance off,

first slide the pain softener control to position ÏÏ(fig. 13);

then slide the On/Off switch to position OO(fig. 14).

Cleaning

•For a good and smooth result in epilating, it is essential that the epilating

head is cleaned after each use.

• Never immerse the appliance in water.

The pain softener element can be removed and washed or rinsed

separately.

• Do not use strong cleaners or scouring agents, petrol, acetone, etc., to

clean the plastic housing of your Satinelle Sensitive.

• Never try to remove the epilating discs from the appliance.

- Ensure that the appliance is switched off (fig. 13, 14).

- Remove the mains plug from the wall socket (fig. 15).

- Brush the epilating discs clean (fig. 16).

- Take off the pain softener element (fig. 17).

- Wash the rubber tips using the brush (fig 18).

- Put the pain softener element back (“Click!”) (fig. 19).

Protecting the environment

When you wish to discard the appliance in due course:

- Pull the mains plug out of the wall socket and let the appliance run until the

batteries are empty.

- Take off the pain softener element (fig. 17).

- Use a small screwdriver to open the appliance (fig. 20).

- Remove the battery holder with the built-in batteries (fig. 21) and hand them

in at one of the officially assigned battery collection points. (Depot for

domestic chemical waste.)

You may recognize NiCd type batteries by the print r(fig. 22) and NiMH

type batteries by the print NiMH (fig. 23).

Do not connect the appliance to the mains supply after the battery has

been removed.

- Put the motor and the metal parts into a metal waste container.

- With a view to recycling, all plastic parts have been provided with

identification marks. These parts should be disposed in the appropriate

containers for recyclable waste.
