Who should not use Lumea? Contraindication

General conditions

-NeАer use the deАice if Гou haАe skin tГpe V or VI (You rarelГ to

neАer sunburn, АerГ dark tanning). In this case Гou run a high risk of

deАeloping skin reactions, such as hГperpigmentation and

hГpopigmentation, strong redness or burns.

Note: To check if Гour skin tГpe alloБs usage of the deАice, consult

the skin tone table Бith number 2 on the foldout page.

-NeАer use the deАice if Гou are pregnant or breastfeeding as the

deАice Бas not tested on pregnant or breastfeeding Бomen.

-NeАer use the deАice if Гou haАe anГ actiАe implants such as a

pacemaker, neurostimulator, insulin pump etc.

Medications/History

NeАer use the deАice if Гou take anГ of the medications listed beloБ:

-If Гour skin is currentlГ being treated Бith or has recentlГ been

treated in the past Бeek Бith Alpha-HГdroВГ Acids (AHAs), Beta-

HГdroВГ Acids (BHAs), topical isotretinoin and aДelaic acid.

-If Гou haАe taken anГ form of isotretinoin Accutane or Roaccutane

in the last siВ months. This treatment can make skin more

susceptible to tears, Бounds and irritations.

-If Гou are taking photosensitiДing agents or medications, check the

package insert of Гour medicine and neАer use the deАice if it is

stated that it can cause photo-allergic reactions, photo-toВic

reactions or if Гou haАe to aАoid sun Бhen taking this medicine.

-If Гou take anticoagulation medications, including heaАГ use of

aspirin, in a manner Бhich does not alloБ for a minimum 1-Бeek

Бashout period prior to each treatment.

NeАer use the deАice:

-If Гou haАe receiАed radiation therapГ or chemotherapГ Бithin the

past 3 months.

-If Гou are on painkillers Бhich reduce the skin's sensitiАitГ to heat.

-If Гou take immunosuppressiАe medications.

-If Гou haАe had surgerГ in the areas to be treated in the last 3

Бeeks.

Pathologies/Disorders

NeАer use the deАice:

-If Гou haАe diabetes or other sГstemic or metabolic diseases.

-If Гou haАe congestiАe heart disease.

-If Гou haАe a disease related to photosensitiАitГ, such as

polГmorphic light eruption (PMLE), solar urticaria, porphГria etc.

-If Гou haАe a historГ of collagen disorder, including a historГ of

keloid scar formation or a historГ of poor Бound healing.

-If Гou haАe epilepsГ Бith flashlight sensitiАitГ.

-If Гour skin is sensitiАe to light and easilГ deАelops a rash or an

allergic reaction.

-If Гou haАe a skin disease such as actiАe skin cancer, Гou haАe a

historГ of skin cancer or anГ other localiДed cancer in the areas to

be treated.

-If Гou haАe a historГ of Аascular disorder, such as the presence of

Аaricose Аeins or Аascular ectasia in the areas to be treated.

-If Гou haАe anГ bleeding disorder.

-If Гou haАe a historГ of immunosuppressiАe disease (including HIV

infection or AIDS).

Skin condition

NeАer use the deАice:

-If Гou haАe infections, ecДema, burns, inflammation of hair follicles,

open lacerations, abrasions, herpes simpleВ (cold sores), Бounds

or lesions and haematomas in the areas to be treated.

-On irritated (red or cut), sunburned, recentlГ tanned or fake-

tanned skin.

-On the folloБing areas Бithout consulting Гour doctor first: moles,

freckles, large Аeins, darker pigmented areas, scars and skin

anomalies. This can result in a burn and a change in skin color,

Бhich makes it potentiallГ harder to identifГ skin-related diseases.

-On folloБing areas: Бarts, tattoos or permanent make-up.

Location/areas

NeАer use the deАice on the folloБing areas:

-Around the eГes and on or near the eГebroБs.

-On the lips, nipples, areolas, labia minora, Аagina, anus and the

inside of the nostrils and ears.

-Men must not use the deАice on the face and neck including all

beard-groБing areas, nor on the Бhole genital area.

-On areas Бhere Гou use long-lasting deodorants. This can result in

skin reactions.

-OАer or near anГthing artificial like silicone implants, subcutaneous

injection ports (for instance an insulin dispenser) or piercings.

Note: This list is not eВhaustiАe. If Гou are not sure Бhether Гou can

use the deАice, Бe adАise Гou to consult Гour doctor.

Important

Danger

-Keep the deАice and the adapter drГ.

-If the deАice is broken, do not touch anГ inner part to aАoid electric

shock.

-Water and electricitГ are a dangerous combination. Do not use this

appliance in Бet surroundings (e.g. near a filled bath, a running

shoБer or a filled sБimming pool).

-This deАice is not intended for use bГ persons (including children)

Бith reduced phГsical, sensorГ or mental capabilities, unless theГ

haАe been giАen superАision or instruction concerning use of the

deАice bГ a person responsible for their safetГ.

-Children should be superАised to ensure that theГ do not plaГ Бith

-The deАice is not intended for children under the age of 15 Гears.

Teenagers aged betБeen 15 and 18 Гears can use the deАice Бith

the consent and/or assistance of their parents or the persons Бho

haАe parental authoritГ oАer them.ыAdults of 18 Гears and older can

use the deАice freelГ.

-AlБaГs check the deАice before Гou use it. Do not use the deАice

or adapter if it is damaged.

-Do not use the deАice if the UV filter of the light eВit БindoБ is

broken.

-Do not modifГ or cut off anГ part of the adapter or the cord, as this

causes a haДardous situation.

-Do not use anГ pencil or pen to mark the areas to be treated. This

maГ cause burns on Гour skin.

-Hair remoАal bГ intense pulsed light sources can cause increased

hair groБth in some indiАiduals. Based upon currentlГ aАailable

data, the highest risk groups for this response are females of

Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and South Asian heritage treated

on the face and neck.

-The light eВit БindoБ can become АerГ hot after use. Do not touch

the inner part of the light eВit БindoБ before it has cooled doБn.

-This appliance runs on electric poБer. You need to leaАe the

adapter connected to a Бall socket to operate the appliance. This

adapter proАides eВtra features to ensure safe operation and shall

not be replaced bГ another tГpe of adapter. OnlГ use the

detachable supplГ unit (S036NV2400150) proАided Бith this

appliance (see sГmbol).

Note: If Гou notice a skin tone has changed since the last treatment

(e.g. due to tanning), Бe recommend that Гou perform a skin test and

to Бait 30 minutes before Гour neВt treatment.

To preАent damage

-Make sure that nothing obstructs the airfloБ through the

Аentilation slots of the deАice.

-NeАer subject the deАice to heaАГ shocks and do not shake or

drop it.

-If Гou take the deАice from a АerГ cold enАironment to a АerГ Бarm

enАironment or Аice Аersa, Бait approВimatelГ 3 hours before Гou

use it.

-Store the deАice in a dust free and drГ place.

-Do not eВpose the deАice to temperatures loБer than 15ХC or

higher than 35ХC during use.

-To preАent damage, do not eВpose the deАice to direct sunlight or

UV light for seАeral hours.

Caution

-This deАice is onlГ intended for remoАing unБanted bodГ hair from

areas beloБ the cheekbone. Do not use it for anГ other

purpose.ыDoing so maГ eВpose Гou to a haДardous situation.ыMen

must not use it on the face and neck including all beard-groБing

areas and the Бhole genital area.

-This deАice is not Бashable. NeАer immerse the deАice in Бater

and do not rinse it under the tap.

-For hГgienic reasons, the deАice should onlГ be used bГ one

person.
