Introduction

◗With your new Satinelle super sensitive you can remove

unwanted hairs quickly and effectively in an extra-gentle way.

◗The new double-active pain softener relaxes your skin like a

massage, thereby more effectively masking the sensation of

epilation.As a result, you will hardly feel any pain.

◗The rapidly rotating epilating discs catch even the shortest hairs

(even as short as half a millimetre!) and quickly remove them by

the root.As a result, your skin stays smooth for up to four weeks

and regrowth is soft and downy.

Important

◗Check if the mains voltage indicated on the adapter corresponds

to your local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

◗Make sure the appliance does not come into contact with water.

◗To prevent damage and injuries, keep the running appliance away

from your hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, clothes, threads, cords,

brushes etc.

◗Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.

◗Only use the appliance in combination with the adapter supplied.

◗If the adapter of this appliance is damaged, it may only be

replaced with an adapter plug of the original type.Turn to your

Philips dealer or the Philips organisation in your country for

replacement.

◗Do not expose the appliance to temperatures lower than 5°C or

higher than 35°C.

◗Do not use the epilating head on irritated skin or skin with

varicose veins, rashes, spots, moles (with hairs) or wounds

without consulting your doctor first. People with a reduced

immune response, e.g. during pregnancy, or people who suffer

from diabetes mellitus, haemophilia or immunodeficiency should

also consult their doctor first.

◗Your skin may become a little red and irritated the first few

times you use the epilator.This phenomenon will soon disappear

as your skin becomes used to epilation and the hairs become

thinner and softer. If the irritation does not disappear within

three days, we advise you to consult a doctor.

◗Regular massages with a loofah or exfoliating head may help to

prevent from ingrowing hairs. Do not use the loofah or

exfoliating head immediately before or after epilation.

◗Only epilate the armpits and bikini line with the precision cap (B)

attached.

General information about epilation

◗Epilating with the Satinelle super sensitive will leave your skin

smooth and hair-free for weeks.As epilation may cause skin

irritation or ingrown hairs in some women, we advise you to

read the text below.

◗When you use the appliance for the first time, we advise you to

try it out on an area with only light hair growth to get

accustomed to the epilation process.

◗(Type HP6444 only) This appliance has been extensively tested

on the armpits and the bikini line. Some women will develop skin

irritation when they epilate these areas for the first time.We

therefore advise you to try out the appliance on a small patch of

skin first.

◗After use you can apply a mild cream or body milk to soothe

your skin and reduce skin irritation.

◗Epilation is easier just after taking a shower or a bath.Your skin

must be completely dry, however.

◗We advise you to epilate before going to bed at night.Any skin

irritation that may occur will diminish overnight.

Using the appliance

◗Make sure your skin is clean, entirely dry and free from grease.

Do not use any cream before you start epilating.

1Put the adapter (J) in the wall socket.

2Insert the appliance plug (H) into the inlet socket (G) (Fig. 2).

3Remove the protective cover (A) (Fig. 3).

4Switch the appliance on by sliding the on/off switch (F) to the

desired speed setting:

◗Select speed I (Fig. 4) for areas with little hair growth and for

areas where bones are located directly beneath the skin, such as

knees and ankles.

◗Select speed II (Fig. 5) for larger areas with stronger hair growth.

5Stretch the skin with your free hand to make the hairs stand

upright (Fig. 6).

6Place the epilating head (D) perpendicularly onto the skin so that

the epilating head (D) and the pain softener (E) are in proper

contact with the skin.

7Move the appliance slowly, with the pain softener (E) pointing

forward, against the direction of hair growth. Do not exert any

pressure (Fig.7).

8Stretch your leg when you are epilating the back of your knee.

9Switch the appliance off by sliding the on/off switch (F) to O

(Fig.8).

Epilating armpits and bikini line

(Type HP6444 only)This appliance comes with precision cap (B).This

precision cap reduces the number of epilating discs that are active and

stretches the skin during epilating. It is particularly suitable when

epilating armpits and bikini line.You will get the best results when the

hairs are not too long (max. 1 cm).

1Switch the appliance off (Fig. 8).

2Slide the pain softener for epilating the legs (E) off the appliance

with your thumbs (Fig. 9).

3Fit the pain softener for epilating the armpits and the bikini line

4Place the precision cap (B) onto the appliance. (Fig. 11) The

precision cap (B) can only be fitted onto the appliance in one

way.

5Switch the appliance on by selecting the desired speed.We advise

you to use speed II (Fig. 5).

6Stretch the skin with your free hand (Fig. 6).

7Place the appliance perpendicularly onto your skin, without

exerting any pressure (Fig. 12).

8Make sure both the epilating discs (D) and the pain softener (E)

are in proper contact with the skin (Fig. 13).

9Move the appliance slowly over your skin against the direction of

hair growth.

Exfoliating (type HP6447 only)

Use the exfoliating head only on your legs, not on your armpits or

bikini line.

1Make sure the appliance is switched off.

2Remove the epilating head by pressing the ribbed section and

sliding it off the appliance in the direction of the arrow (fig.14).

3Remove the pain softener (fig.15).

4Slide the exfoliating head onto the appliance. It only fits onto the

appliance in one way (fig.16).

5Switch the appliance on.

6Choose speed I or II, depending on the required exfoliating

intensity.We recommend exfoliating each leg for 1-3 minutes.

- To obtain a good skin appearance, use the exfoliating head once or

twice a week.

- Don't use any cream, foam, gel or lotion just before or during the

exfoliation.

- Don't use the exfoliating head within two days after epilation.

- For hygienic reasons, the exfoliating head should only be used by

one person.

- We advise you to exfoliate before going to bed at night.Any skin

irritation that may develop will diminish overnight.

- After exfoliation, apply a mild cream or body milk to hydrate the

skin and improve its texture.

Cleaning

Do not use cleaning agents, scouring pads or cloths, petrol, acetone etc.

to clean the appliance. Regular cleaning and maintenance guarantees

the best results and a long life for your appliance.

1Switch the appliance off and pull the adapter (J) out of the wall

socket.

2(Type HP6444 only) Remove the precision cap (B) (Fig. 17).

3Remove the epilating head (D). (Fig. 14) Press the ribbed sections

and slide the epilating head off the appliance in the direction of

the arrow.
