Important Repair Instructions

Only skilled personnel should carry out the repair.

After repair the appliance should function properly.

After repair, the appliance has to meet the regulatory and safety requirements that were applicable at the time of

release of the product.

The following tests are common check to be conducted on a repaired appliance before it is return to the consumer.

1. Soleplate temperature

Check the soleplate temperature at maximum setting within IEC requirment.

Measure the temperature of the Soleplate after the iron has reached steady state i.e connected to the mains for at

least 15 minutes. The table below shows the temperature requirement.

2. Leakage Current

Check leakage current according to IEC requirement.

Set input power to 1.15 times of the rated power.

Power on the appliance until steady.

Measure leakage current between LIVE- NEUTRAL & NEUTRAL - EARTH.

Criteria for acceptance: Leakage current shall not exceed 0.75mA.

3. Water leakage/ Functionality

a. With power on the product, check there is no water leakage.

b. Check the functionality of the product such as:

- Steaming

- PCBA (Refer to point 5).

- Buttons: no sluggish, no jammed and loosenness

- Filling Door: close properly (with click sound)

4. Loose part

Check that there are no loose parts such as extra screws in the product that can cause short circuit or product

malfunction.

5. Self-Check mode

Self-Check mode is NOT an exhaustive dianosis, but a quick preliminary check on all the hardware function.

5.1 The following to be carried out before Self-Check mode:

i) Power meter should be in-placed to monitor system power.

ii) Minimum water level in the water tank

iii)Make sure Soleplate is <100°C

5.2 Reset product to Factory Mode Test (FMT) Flow
