1. Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the Philips SRU 4010 universal remote control.

After installing the remote control it can operate the most-used functions of almost any

brand of TV.You can find information about how to prepare this remote control for use in

the chapter ‘Installing the remote control’.

2. Installing the remote control

Inserting the batteries

1Press the cover inwards and slide it in the direction

of the arrow.

2Place two AAA type batteries into the battery

compartment, as shown.

3Slide the cover back and click it firmly into place.

Testing the remote control

The remote control has been programmed to operate most Philips devices. Because the

SRU 4010 may use different signals for each brand and even for different models of the

same brand, it is advisable to test whether your TV responds to the SRU 4010.

The example below instructs you how to do this.

1Turn your TV on manually or use the original remote control.Tune to channel 1.

2Check whether all the keys are working.

For an overview of the keys and their functions,

see ‘3. Keys and functions’.

– If the TV responds as it should to all of the key commands

the SRU 4010 is ready for use.

• If the TV does not respond at all or not to all of the key commands, follow

the instructions under ‘Setting the remote control’, or for online setup go to:

www.philips.com/urc.

Setting the remote control

This is only necessary if your TV does not respond to the SRU 4010.

If that is the case, the SRU 4010 does not recognize the brand and/or model of your TV

and you need to program the remote control to do so.

You can set the remote control either automatically or manually.

Manually setting the remote control

1Turn on the TV manually or use the original remote control.Tune in to channel 1.

2Look up the brand of your TV in the code list at

the back of this manual. One or more four-figure codes are

shown for each brand. Note the first code.

On our website www.philips.com/urc you can directly select your

device typenumber to find the right code.

3Use a pen or paper clip to press the Setup key and

keep it pressed for 5 seconds until the Standby key blinks

twice and then remains lit.

4Then enter the code noted in step 2, using the digit keys.

– The Standby key will now blink twice. If the key blinks once

for an extended period, the code has not been entered

properly or the wrong code has been entered.

Start again from step 2.

5Point the SRU 4010 at the TV and check that it responds as it should.

– If the TV responds to all of the key commands, the SRU 4010 is ready for use.

Do not forget to note your code.

• If the device does not respond at all, or not to all of the key commands, start

again from step 2 and try the next code from the list.

Automatically setting the remote control

The remote control will now automatically search for the right code for your device.

1Make sure the TV is switched on and select a channel using the original remote

control or the keys on the TV (for example channel 1).

2Use a pen or paper clip to press the Setup key and

keep it pressed for 5 seconds until the Standby key blinks

twice and then remains lit.

3Press the Standby key of the SRU 4010 and

keep it pressed.

– The SRU 4010 now starts emitting all known ‘TV off’

signals, one by one. Each time a code is sent, the Standby

key lights up.

4When your TV switches off (stand-by), immediately release the Standby key of the

SRU 4010.

– The SRU 4010 has now found a code that works on your TV.

5Check if you can operate all functions on your TV with the SRU 4010.

• If this is not the case, you can redo the automatic setting.

The SRU 4010 will then search for a code that works better.

– After the SRU 4010 has run through all the known codes, the search will stop

automatically and the Standby key stops blinking.

– Automatic programming of a TV takes a maximum of 6 minutes.

3. Keys and functions

The illustration on page 3 gives an overview of all keys and their functions.

1yStandby. . . . . . . . switches the TV on or off.

2Setup. . . . . . . . . . . . selects setup mode.

3Red,green,yellow and blue fasttext keys.

4MENU / . . . . . . . - switches teletext on/off.

- pressed together with SHIFT 7: opens the TV menu.

A/V / s. . . . . . . . . . - mutes the sound of the TV.

- pressed together with SHIFT 7: selects external Audio/Video

inputs, connected to the SCART connector(s) of your

equipment (A/V function).

OK / . . . . . . . . . . - selects wide screen TV (16:9).

- pressed together with SHIFT 7: confirms your selection.

BACK / . . . . . . . - jumps back one level in the menu or turns off the menu.

- switches text TV off.

5- VOL + . . . . . . . . . . - adjusts the TV volume.

- pressed together with SHIFT 7: cursor left, right in a menu.

6Digit keys . . . . . . . . direct choice of channels and tracks.

7SHIFT . . . . . . . . . . . for extra functions.When pressed at the same time as a second

key, the second key will get another function. All blue labelled

keys can be used together with SHIFT. For example:

SHIFT + 2. . . . . . . opens electronic TV program guide.

SHIFT + . . . . . . enters TV menu.

Try out other combinations with the SHIFT-key on your device in order to find out which

functions are available. Only functions featured on the original remote control are available.

8-/-- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . selects between one- and two-figure channel numbers.

9- PROG + . . . . . . . . - selects a previous or following channel / program.

- pressed together with SHIFT 7: cursor up, down in a menu.

• If the device does not respond at all, or not to all of the key commands,

follow the instructions under ‘Setting the remote control’. It is possible that

you must enter another code for the device.

1. Introduction

Merci d’avoir acheté cette télécommande universelle Philips SRU 4010. Une fois installée, la

télécommande est compatible avec les fonctions les plus courantes de quasiment

n’importe quelle marque de téléviseur. Pour plus de détails sur l’installation de cette

télécommande, reportez-vous à la section ‘Installation de la télécommande’.

2. Installation de la télécommande

Insertion des piles

1Faites coulisser le couvercle dans la direction indiquée

par la flèche.

2Placez deux piles AAA dans le compartiment des piles, de

la façon indiquée.

3Refermez le couvercle.

Test de la télécommande

Cette télécommande est compatible avec la plupart des appareils Philips. Sachant que les

signaux de la SRU 4010 peuvent varier selon les marques et même selon les modèles, il

est conseillé de vous assurer de son fonctionnement avec votre téléviseur.

L’exemple suivant montre comment procéder.

1Allumez le téléviseur manuellement ou à l’aide de la télécommande d’origine.

Activez le canal 1.

2Assurez-vous que toutes les touches fonctionnent.

Pour connaître la fonction des touches, reportez-vous à la

section ‘3.Touches et fonctions’.

– Si le téléviseur réagit à toutes les touches, la SRU 4010 est

prête.

• Si le téléviseur ne réagit absolument pas ou pas à toutes les commandes,

reportez-vous aux instructions de la section ‘Réglage de la télécommande’,

ou effectuez une configuration en ligne sur: www.philips.com/urc.

Réglage de la télécommande

Cette opération n’est nécessaire que si la SRU 4010 ne fonctionne pas ou seulement

partiellement avec votre TV. La raison en est que la SRU 4010 ne reconnaît pas la marque

ni/ou le modèle; dans ce cas, vous devez la configurer en conséquence.

Vous pouvez régler la télécommande automatiquement ou manuellement.

Réglage manuel de la télécommande

1Allumez le téléviseur manuellement ou à l’aide de la télécommande d’origine.

Activez le canal 1.

2Recherchez la marque de votre téléviseur dans la

nomenclature qui accompagne le présent manuel. Un ou

plusieurs codes à quatre chiffres figurent à la suite de la

marque. Prenez note du premier.

Sur notre site Web www.philips.com/urc, vous pouvez

directement sélectionner le numéro de type de votre appareil pour trouver le code correct.

3Utilisez un stylo ou un trombone pour appuyer sur la

touche Réglage et maintenez-la enfoncée pendant

5 secondes, jusqu'à ce que la touche Veille clignote

deux fois puis reste allumée.

4Saisissez le code noté à l’étape 2 à l’aide des touches

numériques.

– La touche Veille clignotera alors deux fois. Si la touche

clignote une fois pendant une longue période, c’est que le

code n’a pas été saisi correctement ou qu’un code

incorrect a été saisi. Recommencez à partir de l’étape 2.

5Dirigez la SRU 4010 vers le téléviseur et assurez-vous qu’elle fonctionne

correctement.

– Si le téléviseur réagit à toutes les touches, la SRU 4010 est configurée correctement.

N’oubliez pas de prendre note de votre code.

• Si l’appareil ne réagit absolument pas, ou si certaines touches sont

inopérantes, reprenez la procédure à partir de l’étape 2 et essayez le code

suivant dans la liste.

Réglage automatique de la télécommande

La télécommande va maintenant rechercher automatiquement le code de votre appareil.

1Allumez le téléviseur et sélectionnez un canal (par exemple, le canal 1) à l’aide de la

télécommande d’origine.

2Utilisez un stylo ou un trombone pour appuyer sur la

touche Réglage et maintenez-la enfoncée pendant

5 secondes, jusqu'à ce que la touche Veille clignote

deux fois puis reste allumée.

3Appuyez sur la touche Veille de la SRU 4010

et tenez-la enfoncée.

– La SRU 4010 transmet alors successivement

tous les signaux de sortie TV connus. Chaque fois qu’un

code est envoyé, la touche Veille s’allume.

4Quand votre téléviseur s’éteint (veille), relâchez

immédiatement la touche Veille de la SRU 4010.

– La SRU 4010 a trouvé un code qui fonctionne avec votre téléviseur.

5Vérifiez que vous pouvez utiliser toutes les fonctions de votre téléviseur à l’aide de la

SRU 4010.

• Si ce n'est pas le cas, vous pouvez recommencer le réglage automatique.

La SRU 4010 recherchera alors un meilleur code.

– Une fois que la SRU 4010 a parcouru tous les codes connus, la recherche s’arrête

automatiquement et la touche Veille cesse de clignoter.

– La programmation automatique d’un téléviseur prend au maximum 6 minutes.

externes audio/vidéo, connectées aux connecteur(s) PÉRITEL

de votre équipement (fonction A/V).

OK / . . . . . . . . . . . - sélectionne le téléviseur écran large (16:9).

- enfoncé simultanément avec SHIFT 7:

confirme votre sélection.

BACK / . . . . . . . . - remonte d’un niveau dans le menu ou désactive le menu.

- active ou désactive le texte du téléviseur.

5- VOL + . . . . . . . . . . . - règle le volume du téléviseur.

- enfoncé simultanément avec SHIFT 7: déplace le curseur vers

la gauche ou la droite dans un menu.

6Touches

numériques . . . . . . . choix direct de chaînes et de pistes.

7SHIFT . . . . . . . . . . . . pour accéder à des fonctions supplémentaires. Si cette touche

est enfoncée en même temps qu’une seconde touche, cette

dernière permet d’accéder à une autre fonction.Toutes les

touches étiquetées bleues peuvent être utilisées avec SHIFT.

Par exemple:

SHIFT + 2. . . . . . . . ouvre le guide du programme de télévision électronique.

SHIFT + . . . . . . . ouvre le menu TV.

Essayez d’autres combinaisons avec la touche SHIFT de votre appareil pour découvrir les

fonctions disponibles. Seules les fonctions prévues pour la télécommande d’origine sont

disponibles.

8-/-- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . alterne entre les numéros de chaîne à un ou deux chiffres.

1. Einleitung

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu Ihrer Entscheidung für diese universelle Fernbedienung

SRU 4010 von Philips. Nach der Inbetriebnahme der Fernbedienung können Sie hiermit die

gängigsten Funktionen von nahezu allen Fernsehgeräten steuern. Nähere Informationen zur

Inbetriebnahme dieser Fernbedienung finden Sie in dem Kapitel ‘Inbetriebnahme der

Fernbedienung’.

2. Inbetriebnahme der Fernbedienung

Einsetzen der Batterien

1Drücken Sie die kleine Klappe nach innen und schieben

Sie sie in Pfeilrichtung.

2Setzen Sie zwei Batterien vom Typ AAA wie angegeben in

das Batteriefach ein.

3Schieben Sie die Klappe wieder zurück und lassen Sie sie

einrasten.

Prüfen der Fernbedienung

Die Fernbedienung ist für die Steuerung der meisten Geräte von Philips vorbereitet. Da die

Signale der SRU 4010 bei jeder Marke und sogar bei den einzelnen Modellnummern

unterschiedlich sein können, sollten Sie prüfen, ob Ihr TV auf die SRU 4010 reagiert.

In dem nachstehenden Beispiel wird beschrieben, wie Sie hierfür am besten vorgehen.

1Schalten Sie das Fernsehgerät von Hand ein oder benutzen Sie hierfür die Original-

Fernbedienung. Stimmen Sie das Gerät auf Kanal 1 ab.

2Kontrollieren Sie die Funktion der einzelnen Tasten.

Eine Übersicht über die Tasten und ihre Funktion finden Sie

in Kapitel ‘3.Tasten und Funktionen’.

– Reagiert das Fernsehgerät ordnungsgemäß auf alle

Tastenbefehle, so ist die Fernbedienung SRU 4010

einsatzbereit.

• Reagiert das Gerät überhaupt nicht oder nicht auf alle Tastenbefehle,

befolgen Sie bitte die Anweisungen im Abschnitt ‘Einstellen der

Fernbedienung’, oder Setup online unter: www.philips.com/urc.

Einstellen der Fernbedienung

Dies ist nur erforderlich, wenn sich Ihr TV nicht oder nur teilweise mit der Fernbedienung

SRU 4010 steuern lässt. In diesem Fall kennt die Fernbedienung die Marke und/oder das

Modell Ihres TV nicht und müssen Sie diese der Fernbedienung bekannt geben.

Sie können die Fernbedienung entweder automatisch oder manuell einstellen.
