Introduction

This new Philips Duometricks Straight has been specially designed to

give beautiful results in a controlled and gentle way.The micro-glide

structure of the straightening plates increases the grip on your hair,

offering you greater control over the process of straightening.The

removable comb attachment guides the straightener through the hair

optimally.The steam function allows you to straighten your hair in a

gentle way to give it a healthy and shiny look.With the crimper plates

you can add texture to your hair to create an interesting look.

Important

Read these instructions for use carefully before using the appliance and

save them for future reference.

◗Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to

the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

◗Check the condition of the mains cord regularly. Do not use the

appliance if the plug, the cord or the appliance itself is damaged.

◗If the mains cord is damaged, this appliance must be discarded.

◗Keep this appliance away from water! Do not use this product

near or over water contained in baths, washbasins, sinks etc.

When used in a bathroom, unplug the appliance after use since

the proximity of water presents a risk.

◗For additional protection, we advise you to install a residual

current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current

not exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit supplying the

bathroom.Ask your installer for advice.

◗If the appliance overheats, it will switch off automatically. Unplug

the appliance and let it cool down for a few minutes.

◗Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.

◗Only use the appliance on dry or damp hair.

◗The plates of the appliance become hot during use. Prevent

contact with the skin.

◗Always unplug the appliance after use.

◗Wait until the appliance has cooled down before storing it.

◗Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance.

Preparing for use

1Snap the micro-glide plates or crimper plates onto the appliance

(fig. 1).

2When you have put the micro-glide plates on the appliance, snap

the removable comb onto the side of the appliance opposite to

the one where the Cool Tip water reservoir is located (fig. 2).

The removable comb will guide the straightener through the hair more

easily.

3Unscrew the Cool Tip water reservoir from the appliance and fill

it with cold water under a gently running tap (fig. 3).

The appliance can be used with or without water.

4Keep the appliance upside down and screw the water reservoir

back onto the appliance (fig. 4).

Using the appliance

1Insert the plug into the wall socket.

◗There is a ready dot on the appliance.When the appliance has

heated up, the ready dot will change colour to indicate that the

appliance is ready for use.This will take approx. 10 minutes

(fig. 5).

2While the appliance is heating up, comb or brush your hair so

that it is disentangled and smooth. Use a comb to divide the hair

into locks. Do not put too much hair in one lock (fig. 6).

3To straighten your hair, take an approx. 2-inch (5 cm) wide lock of

hair, place it between the micro-glide plates and press the handles

of the appliance together. Start straightening at the roots (fig. 7).

4If you have filled the Cool Tip water reservoir with water, the

appliance will automatically give off steam when you press the

handles together (fig. 8).

5Move the straightener slowly and steadily towards the end of the

lock (fig. 9).

Let the locks cool down before finishing your style.

6To create crimps, take an approx. 2-inch (5 cm) wide lock of hair,

place it between the crimper plates and press the handles of the

appliance together (fig. 10).

Keep the crimper plates in position for 5 seconds and then release your

pressure on the handles to allow the hair to slip out from between the

plates.

◗Repeat the process until you have achieved the desired look.

Allow your hair to cool down. Do not comb or brush it, as this

would ruin the hairstyle you have just created.

Cleaning

Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.

Never rinse the appliance with water.

1Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.

2To prevent the build-up of scale, you should descale the appliance

regularly.Add 3-4 drops of vinegar to the Cool Tip water

reservoir, top up with water and screw it back onto the

appliance. Insert the plug into the wall socket.Wait 10 minutes

and press the handles of the straightener together 10 times at

20-second intervals to release steam.Then unplug the appliance

and rinse the Cool Tip water reservoir under a tap.

Storage

Always unplug the appliance before storing it.

◗Unscrew the Cool Tip water reservoir and pour out the

remaining water (fig. 11).

◗Put the appliance in a safe place and let it cool down.

◗Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance.

◗The appliance can be stored by hanging it from its hanging loop

(fig. 12).

Nowa lokówka Philips Duometricks Straight zaprojektowana została

specjalnie po to, aby można było łatwo i w krótkim czasie uzyskiwać

pi kne fryzury. Struktura mikro-żelazka płytek prostujących umożliwia

wi kszy chwyt włosów, zapewniając lepszą kontrol nad procesem

prostowania. Zdejmowana nasadka grzebieniowa optymalnie prowadzi

przez włosy element prostujący. Funkcja pary pozwala delikatnie

wyprostować włosy oraz nadaje im zdrowy i pi kny wygląd. Dzi ki

pofałdowanym płytkom karbownicy możesz nadać włosom ciekawie

wyglądającą faktur .

Ważne

Przed pierwszym użyciem urządzenia zapoznaj si dokładnie z instrukcją

jego obsługi i zachowaj ją na przyszłość, do ewentualnej konsultacji.

◗Przed podłączeniem urządzenia upewnij się, czy napięcie podane

na urządzeniu jest zgodne z napięciem w sieci elektrycznej.

znamionowym prądzie zerowym, nie przekraczającym 30 mA.

Porozum się w tej sprawie z wykwalifikowanym elektrykiem.

◗W przypadku przegrzania urządzenie automatycznie wyłączy się.

Należy wtedy odłączyć urządzenie od zasilania, wyjmując wtyczkę

z gniazdka i poczekać kilka minut, aby ochłodziło się.

◗Trzymaj urządzenie z dala od dzieci.

◗Używaj urządzenia tylko do włosów suchych lub wilgotnych.

Pr ygotowanie do użycia

1Nasuń na urządzenie płytki mikro-żelazka lub płytki pofałdowane

(Rys. 1).

2Po założeniu płytek mikro-żelazka nasuń zdejmowany grzebień na

stronę urządzenia przeciwną do tej, na której znajduje się

zbiornik wody chłodnej końcówki (Rys. 2).

Grzebień łatwiej prowadzi przez włosy element prostujący.

3Odkręć od urządzenia zbiornik chłodnej końcówki i napełnij je

zimną wodą powoli płynącą z kranu (Rys. 3).

Urządzenie może być używane z wodą, a także bez niej.

4Ustaw urządzenie do góry dnem i ponownie zamocuj na nim

zbiornik wody do urządzenia, przykręcając go (Rys. 4).

Użycie ur ąd enia

1Wetknij wtyczkę do gniazdka ciennego.

◗Urządzenie wyposażone jest w diodę, sygnalizująca jego gotowo ć

do pracy. Po rozgrzaniu się urządzenia dioda zmienia kolor,

wskazując tym samym możliwo ć rozpoczęcia pracy.Trwa to

około 10 minut (Rys. 5).

2Podczas nagrzewania się urządzenia rozczesz włosy grzebieniem

lub szczotką, aby były gładkie i niesplątane. Przy podziale włosów

na loki posługuj się grzebieniem. Nie skupiaj zbyt dużo włosów w

jednym loku (Rys. 6).

3Aby rozprostować włosy, chwyć lok o szeroko ci około 5 cm,

umie ć go pomiędzy płytkami mikro-żelazka i naci nij ku sobie

uchwyty urządzenia. Prostowanie włosów rozpocznij u ich nasady

(Rys. 7).

4Je li zbiornik chłodnej końcówki napełniony jest wodą, wówczas

w chwili zbliżenia do siebie uchwytów urządzenie zaczyna

natychmiast wydzielać parę (Rys. 8).

5Powoli i równomiernie przesuwaj urządzenie prostujące w

kierunku zakończenia loka (Rys. 9).

Przed zakończeniem układania włosów poczekaj, aż loki ostygną.

6Aby utworzyć fale, chwyć lok o szeroko ci około 5 cm, umie ć go

pomiędzy płytkami pofałdowanymi i naci nij ku sobie uchwyty

urządzenia (Rys. 10).

Utrzymaj w tym położeniu płytki pofałdowane przez 5 sekund, a

nast pnie zwolnij nacisk na uchwyty, pozwalając na uwolnienie włosów

spomi dzy płytek.

◗Powtórz ten proces, aż uzyskasz żądany efekt. Poczekaj, aż włosy

ostygną. Nie czesz ich ani nie szczotkuj, tak, aby nie uszkodzić

wieżo utworzonej fryzury.

C ys c enie ur ąd enia

Zanim zaczniesz czy cić urządzenie, zawsze wyjmij wtyczkę z

gniazdka sieciowego.

Lokówki nie wolno płukać w strumieniu bieżącej wody.

1Urządzenie należy czy cić wilgotną szmatką.

2Aby zapobiec tworzeniu się kamienia wapiennego, dodaj do

zbiornika chłodnej końcówki 3-4 krople octu, napełnij go wodą i

ponownie wkręć zbiornik na urządzenie.Wetknij wtyczkę do

gniazdka ciennego i włącz urządzenie. Odczekaj 10 minut, po

czym 10 razy wci nij uchwyty urządzenia prostującego ku sobie,

robiąc 20-sekundowe przerwy, w czasie których zostanie

uwolniona para. Następnie odłącz urządzenie od sieci i wypłucz

pod kranem zbiornik chłodnej końcówki.
