You just made a great choice by buying this Philips universal

remote control! It can operate the most-used functions of

almost any brand of TV.

Installing the batteries

Your SBC RU120 needs two 1.5V batteries, type R03, UM4 or

AAA.

Put them in like this:

KEYS & FUNCTIONS

Power: to switch TV on and off.

Mute: to switch the TV sound on and off.

Channel Up/Down: to select next / previous channel.

Volume Up/Down: to control the TV volume.

NOTE

- The channel and volume buttons have a double function! In

case you have to program the SBC RU120 for use with your

device you have to enter a 6-digit code (e.g. 012313).

These are the digits that these buttons represent:

= digit 0, = digit 1, = digit 2, = digit 3.

SHIFT function to get access to additional functions.

SHIFT + PROG+: increases colour

SHIFT + PROG-: decreases colour

SHIFT + Volume+: increases brightness

SHIFT + Volume-: decreases brightness

NOTE

- Not all brands have this shifted functionality so it could be

possible that this feature does not work on your equipment.

Tip

• Remember to replace the batteries at least once a year.

• Don’t leave the batteries out for longer than one hour,

otherwise you will need to set-up the SBC RU120 again.

SET-UP FOR USE

ADVICE

Carefully read the complete procedure before starting!

Your TV is a Philips brand:

1Press the power key to test.

– The green indicator LED lights up to confirm transmission

CHECK

Press a few keys to check correct response. If response is not

correct go to the next paragraph

Your TV is of another brand or your TV is a Philips

brand, but not all keys respond correctly:

1Look up the brand name of the TV you want to operate in

the code list (centre of this manual).

2Make sure the TV is switched on.

3Press and hold keys mute and power simultaneously - for

about three seconds- until the green LED lights up.

(Release the keys: the green LED should stay on)

4Enter your 6-digit code within 30 seconds.

(PROG– = 0, PROG+ = 1, VOL– = 2, VOL+ = 3) e.g. when

the code is 012313 press PROG–, PROG+, VOL–, VOL+,

PROG+, VOL+.

– The green LED flashes twice.

CHECK

That’s it! Press a few keys to check correct response.

If response is not correct, repeat procedure beginning

at step 1 using the next 6-digit code in the list.

NOTE

- If the LED displays one long flash, the code was not

recognised. Please go back to step 1 and repeat the

procedure, using the next 6-digit code in the list.

- If no key is pressed within 30 seconds, you have to start

again at step 1.

- If no correct code is in the list, go to the next paragraph.

ADVICE

Carefully read the complete procedure before starting!

You do not know the brand of your equipment/

you can not find the right code in the code list »

auto search:

1 Be sure your device is switched on.

2Press and hold keys mute and power simultaneously -for

about three seconds- until the green LED lights up.

(Release the keys: the green LED should stay on)

3Press the power key repeatedly until the equipment

switches off. Make sure that you keep the remote control

pointed at your equipment.

– Each time the green LED flashes, another code is sent.

When the right code is found, the equipment switches off.

If you accidentally press the power key again, after the

equipment switched off, you miss the correct code!

If you accidentally skipped the code follow the next

procedure starting at step 4. If you did not skip the code go

to step 7.

4Switch the equipment manually back on.

5Press ‘PROG–’ (down only!) a couple of times.

6Press the power key repeatedly until the equipment

switches off.

7Press the mute key to lock the correct code in the SBC

RU120’s memory.

– The green LED flashes twice.

HECK

Switch equipment on manually. Press a few keys to check correct

response. If response is not correct, repeat procedure beginning

at step 1.

OTE

- The search time averages about 90 seconds.

(Maximum search time is 5 minutes).

- If the LED blinks twice, after you pressed the power key (step 3),

this means you have tried all codes. If non of the codes worked,

try the Autosearch procedure again, starting at step 1.

POWER/DIGIT TOGGLE

Even when your TV can be activated by using a digit key only

(e.g. digit number 1) instead of using the power key, you need

to install the "Power/Digit Toggle" function. After you installed

this function, the power key will send out the "power on/off"

code, the first time you press the "power" key and the "digit

1" code when you press the "power" key for the second time.

In this way it is possible to activate your TV even when it

responds to digit codes only. To install this "Power/Digit

Toggle" function, follow the following procedure:

1 Look up the "Power/Digit toggle" code in the code list

(centre of this manual).

Press and hold power and mute keys simultaneously – for

about three seconds – until the green LED lights up.

(Release the keys: the green LED should stay on).

3Enter the 6 digit "Power toggle" code within 30 seconds.

– The green LED flashes twice.

Follow the same procedure to cancel the "Power/Digit toggle"

function.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

• Problem:

– Solution:

• Equipment is not responding and the green light does not

flash when you press a button.

– Replace batteries with two new 1.5 volt, type RO3, UM4 or

AAA batteries.

• Equipment is not responding, but the green light does flash

when you press a button.

– Aim the SBC RU120 at the equipment and be sure that there

are no obstructions between the SBC RU120 and the

equipment.

• The SBC RU120 is not performing commands properly.

– You may be using the wrong code. Try repeating Set up using

another code, listed under your brand, or start the Autosearch

Set-up over again to locate the proper code.

If the equipment still doesn’t respond, call the help-line and

we’ll put you back on track.

• Your brand is not listed in the code list.

– Try the Autosearch method.

Installation des piles

Votre télécommande SBC RU120 fonctionne à l’aide de deux

piles de 1,5V de type R03, UM4 ou AAA.

Installez-les de la manière suivante:

TOUCHES & FONCTIONS

Mise en marche: pour mettre sous et hors tension votre tv.

Silence: pour couper ou remettre le son de la télévision.

Canal +/-: pour sélectionner le canal précédent/suivant.

Volume +/-: pour régler le volume de la télévision.

REMARQUE

- Les boutons de canal et de volume ont une double fonction !

Au cas où vous devez programmer la SBC RU120 pour

fonctionner avec votre périphérique, vous devez entrer à un

code à 6 chiffres (par exemple 012313).

Voici les chiffres affectés aux boutons :

= chiffre 0, = chiffre 1, = chiffre 2, = chiffre 3.

Fonction SHIFT:

pour accéder aux autres fonctions

SHIFT + PROG+:

accentue les couleurs

SHIFT + PROG-:

diminue l’intensité des couleurs

SHIFT + Volume+:

augmente la luminosité

SHIFT + Volume-:

réduit la luminosité

REMARQUE

- Toutes les marques ne disposent pas de cette fonction de

changement et, par conséquent, il se peut que cette fonction

ne puisse pas être utilisée avec votre équipement.

RÉGLAGES À EFFECTUER AVANT L’EMPLOI

RECOMMANDATION

Veuillez lire attentivement l’ensemble de la procédure avant de

commencer!

Votre équipement est de la marque Philips:

1Appuyez sur la touche de mise en marche pour vérifier le

mode.

– Le voyant de signalisation vert s’allume pour confirmer la

transmission.

CONTRÔLE

Aappuyez sur quelques touches pour vérifier qu’elles

fonctionnent correctement. Si la réponse n'est pas correcte,

allez au paragraphe suivant.

Votre équipement est d’une marque différente, ou

votre équipement est de la marque Philips mais

certaines touches ne fonctionnent pas correctement:

1Recherchez la marque du périphérique que vous voulez

utiliser dans la liste des codes (au centre de ce manuel).

2Vérifiez que le périphérique est sous tension.

3Appuyez au même moment sur les touches Silence et Mise

en Marche et maintenez-les enfoncées pendant environ

trois secondes jusqu’à ce que le voyant vert s’allume.

(Relâchez les touches: le voyant vert doit rester allumé)

4Entrez vote code à trois chiffres au moyen des touches

numérotées en moins de 30 secondes.

(PROG– = 0, PROG+ = 1, VOL– = 2, VOL+ = 3)

par exemple, lorsque le code est 012313 appuyez sur

PROG–, PROG+, VOL–, VOL+, PROG+, VOL+.

– Le voyant vert clignote à deux reprises.

CONTRÔLE

C’est tout! Appuyez sur quelques touches pour vérifier qu’elles

procédure à partir de la première étape en employant le code

- Si vous n’appuyez sur aucune touche avant que les

30 secondes ne soient écoulées, vous devrez recommencer à

partir de la première étape.

- Si aucun code correct ne figure dans la liste, allez au

paragraphe suivant.

RECOMMANDATION

Vous ne connaissez pas la marque de votre

équipement/vous ne réussissez pas à trouver le code

correct dans la liste » recherche automatique:

1 Assurez-vous que votre périphérique est allumé.

Appuyez sur les touches Silence et Marche au même

moment et maintenez-les enfoncées pendant environ trois

secondes jusqu’à ce que le voyant vert s’allume.

(Relâchez

les touches: le voyant vert doit rester allumé.)

3Appuyez sur la touche Marche à plusieurs reprises jusqu'à ce

que l’équipement s’éteigne.

– Un autre code est envoyé chaque fois que le voyant vert clignote.

Lorsque le code correct est trouvé, l’équipement s’éteint.

Si vous appuyez de nouveau accidentellement sur la touche

Marche après l’arrêt de l’équipement, vous ratez le code correct!

Si vous avez accidentellement sauté le code, suivez la

procédure suivante en commençant à l’étape 4. Si vous n'avez

pas sauté le code, allez à l’étape 7.

4Rallumez l’équipement manuellement.

5Appuyez sur 'PROG– ' (seulement sur – !) deux ou trois fois.

6Appuyez sur la touche Marche à plusieurs reprises jusqu'à ce

que l'équipement s’éteigne.

7Appuyez sur la touche Silence pour chercher le code correct

enregistré dans la mémoire de votre télécommande SBC RU120.

– Le voyant vert clignote à deux reprises.

CONTRÔLE

Allumez l’équipement manuellement. Appuyez sur quelques touches

pour vérifier qu’elles fonctionnent correctement. Si la réponse n'est

pas correcte, répétez la procédure en commençant à l'étape 1.

REMARQUE

- La recherche demande environ 90 secondes. (Le temps de

recherche maximal est de 5 minutes).

- Si le voyant clignote deux fois après que vous ayez appuyé sur

la touche Marche (étape 3), cela signifie que vous avez essayé

tous les codes. Si aucun des codes ne fonctionne, essayez de

nouveau la procédure de recherche automatique, en

commençant à l’étape 1.

COMMUTATEUR ALIMENTATION/TOUCHE NUMERIQUE

Si votre téléviseur ne peut pas être activé en utilisant uniquement

une touche numérique (par ex. touche numérique 1) au lieu

d’utiliser la touche d’alimentation, vous devez installer la fonction

"Commutateur alimentation/touche numérique". Après avoir

installé cette fonction, le commutateur d’alimentation indiquera le

code "alimentation marche/arrêt" la première fois que vous allez

appuyer sur la touche "alimentation" et le code "touche

numérique 1" lorsque vous allez appuyer sur la touche

"alimentation" pour la deuxième fois. De cette manière, il est

possible d’activer votre téléviseur même lorsqu’il ne réagit que sur

des codes numériques uniquement. Pour installer ce commutateur

Alimentation/Touche numérique, suivez la procédure suivante:

1 Recherchez le code "Commutateur alimentation/touche

numérique dans la liste des codes (au centre de ce

manuel).

Appuyez et maintenez enfoncées simultanément les

touches alimentation et mise en sourdine – pendant

environ trois secondes – jusqu’à ce que l’indicateur DEL

vert s’allume. (Relâchez les touches: l’indicateur DEL vert

restera allumé).

3Entrez le code à 6 chiffres "commutateur d’alimentation"

dans les 30 secondes.

– L’indicateur DEL vert clignotera deux fois.

Suivez la même procédure pour annuler la fonction

"commutateur alimentation/touche numérique".
