1 About this unit
The “DULCOnneX gateway” can communicate with many smart devices (smartphone, tablet, ...) or
desktop computers (PC, laptop, ...) via Wi-Fi or LAN. This enables CAN controllers, which have
been connected to the “DULCOnneX gateway” and that have been equipped by ProMinent for this
purpose, to be largely controlled and monitored by a smart device or desktop computer.

Intended use
nOnly use the unit to monitor ProMinent®
controllers in accordance with the oper‐
ating instructions.
nOnly use the unit once it has been cor‐
rectly installed and started up in accord‐
ance with the technical data and specifica‐
tions contained in the operating
instructions.
nAll other uses, software modifications or
conversions are prohibited.
nThis network-capable product is not
intended for communication with other
mobile communication or network-capable
products in critical infrastructures without
the use of compensating measures in
accordance with the applicable regula‐
tions.
nThe unit is not intended for use outdoors
without appropriate protective measures.
nOnly allow trained and authorised per‐
sonnel to operate the unit.
nYou have a responsibility to adhere to the
information contained in the operating
instructions at the different phases of the
unit's service life.

Personnel must:

nBe familiar with network technology and
Ethernet technology.
nHave read and understood these operating
instructions.

The “DULCOnneX gateway” is not
designed for applications in which inter‐
ference from or by the “DULCOnneX
gateway” can lead to fatal injury,
serious personal injury or serious mate‐
rial damage.
WARNING!
The Wi-Fi unit can cause interference
to or even destroy radio and television
frequencies.
It is essential to avoid this.
– For remedies, refer to the "Trou‐
bleshooting" chapter.
Start up the unit in accordance with the official
start-up instructions:
This unit complies with Part 15 of the FCC Reg‐
ulations. The following 2 conditions must be ful‐
filled for operation: (1) This unit should not
cause any hazardous interference, and (2) this
unit should tolerate all interference, including
interference that can cause undesirable opera‐
tion.

Protect the module from moisture and
the effects of chemicals, even when still
packaged!
Store and transport the module it its original
packaging.

CAUTION!
There needs to be Wi-Fi reception at the intended site of the "DULCOnneX gateway".
The unit is suitable for mounting on a wall or a pipe.

1. Remove the wall/tube retaining bracket.
Pull the two snap-hooks (1) outwards
and push upwards
2. Fold out the wall/tube retaining bracket
(2) and pull out downwards
3. Mark two drill holes diagonally to each
other, using the wall/tube retaining
bracket as a drilling template
4. Drill holes: Ø 8 mm, d = 50 mm

wall/tube retaining bracket and, using
light pressure at the bottom, press it
against the wall/tube retaining bracket.
Then press upwards until the device
audibly snaps into position

3. Secure the wall/tube retaining bracket
using cable ties (or pipe clips) to the
pipe

wall/tube retaining bracket and, using
light pressure at the bottom (2), press it
against the wall/tube retaining bracket.

CAUTION!
Malfunction from interference-prone
cables
Do not route the signal leads of the unit
alongside interference-prone cabling.
The interference could lead to malfunc‐
tion of the unit.
Implement interference suppression
measures in places where there is elec‐
trical interference in the environment.
CAUTION!
Malfunction from penetrated moisture
If this occurs: Properly seal the strain
relief mechanisms or cable threaded
connectors. Otherwise the intended
degree of protection will not be ach‐
ieved.
Requirements:
nThe DULCOnneX units have an Ethernet
connector
1. The DULCOnneX units can be con‐
nected to your Ethernet installation.
2. Prepare the sockets for the controllers
and the “DULCOnneX gateway” but do
not yet insert the mains plug! That is
done during commissioning.
