1 - 1 SUPPLEMENTARY NATURE OF MANUAL
This manual is to be considered as a supplement to the "Installation, maintenance and servicing manual" which
contains information on wiring, checking and eliminating faults, start-up and maintenance procedures. This manual
gives instructions on the use and correct programming of the instrument.
You are urged, therefore, to read the manual carefully and, if you have any queries, to contact QEM for further
explanations by sending the assistance fax contained in the manual.

The documentation relative to the instruments designed and sold by QEM has been divided into different booklets for
effective and speedy consultation according to the type of information required.

specified that the customer/purchaser is bound to use the instrument according to the instructions provided by QEM
and, if any doubts arise, to send a written query to QEM. Any authorisation for exceptions or substitutions, if contested,
will be deemed valid by QEM only if written consent has been given by QEM.
The reproduction or transfer of all or part of this manual to third parties is forbidden without QEM's written consent.
Any transgression will result in a claim for compensation for the damages sustained.
All rights deriving from patent or designs are reserved.
QEM reserves the right to make partial or complete modifications to the characteristics of the instrument described
and the corresponding documentation.
Objective
The objective of this manual is to give the general rules for the use of the instrument described.
Recommendation

replacement or servicing operations.

1 - 4 DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION
The instrument HB 237.16 controls the position of one axis and governs the activation and de-activation of 8 totally
programmable outputs. The quotas for each single output can be set in a maximum of 9 programs that can be called
only from the keyboard.

Key Function
Normal operation: Pressed for one second, gives access to choice of program to be
executed.
Data input: confirms the displayed data.
Normal operation: not used.
Data input: resets displayed data to zero.
Normal operation: pressed for two seconds, displays input/output diagnostics.
Data input: increases impulsively or continuously the figure selected on the display (the one
that flashes).
Normal operation: not used.
Data input: moves to the left the selection of the figure displayed.
Lighted when programming set-up parameters.
Lighted when introducing work programs.

When lighted, indicates possibility of introducing the sign "-".

I1 ON X P1 Programmable input 1. Its function depends on the type of programming made in the "FI" set-up
parameter.
I2 ON X P1 Programmable input 2. Its function depends on the type of programming made in the "F2"set-up parameter.
By holding down together the keys (-) and (ENTER) + password 732, it is possible to set the input acquisition
time.

U1 P C1 C Quota 1. With set-up parameter "LI" set on "0", the output is activated when the count reaches the value of
the quota set as parameter "I" in the work program. When the set-up parameter "LI" is set on "1", the output
is de-activated when the count reaches the value of the quota set as parameter "I" in the work program.
U2 P C1 C Quota 2. §With set-up parameter "L2" is set on "0", the output is activated when the count reaches the value
of the quota set as parameter "2" in the work program. When the set-up parameter "L2" is set on "1", the output
is de-activated when the count reaches the value of the quota set as parameter "2" in the work program.
