1. General Information
1.1 Specications
X500 3D Printer
The X500 is the answer to the current demand on the market and oers in addition to the large
construction volume of 500 x 400 x 475 (XxYxZ) millimeters further innovations which are the
focus of the requirements of industrial use. With its steel frame and a total weight of approx.
170 kg, the machine oers an extremely high stability. A new extruder technology makes it
possible to process future material developments precisely. The cooling circuit allows a stable
process even at maximum building chamber temperature.

2. Operating mode of the X 500
The X500 has an operating- and a maintenance mode.
In order to turn on your 3D printer, please make sure the
power cable is connected and the main switch (back of
the printer) is turned ON.
Turning on the main switch will also activate the cooling
system of the X500.
You only need the operating key to start your X500 3D printer (lower slot).
The provided key is coded for your personal X500, GermanRepRap can not provide
any spare keys.
You can duplicate your key at your local key service.

Attention:
As there is still air inside the cooling system,
don‘t turn on the main switch before the service
engineer commissionend the machine.
The pictures below show how to turn on your 3D printer.
As a costumer you only have the operating key (lower
one), which enables you to start your X500. Only service
sta can enter the maintenance mode through using the
„service key“.

2.1 Operating mode
When the X500 is connected to the power supply you can start your printer by using the main switch at the
back and the key at the fron of the printer.
After a short initialization phase the startup screen appears on the display and the printer is ready to use.
In this mode you can upload Gcodes, heat up the machine and traverse the axis.
If you open the lid while a 3D print is currently running the printer will
shut down immediately and the executed print is lost.
2.5 Maintenance mode
When operating in maintenance mode, it is possible to work with an open maintenance lid. This mode is
intended for repair and maintenance work only!
The maintenance mode must be set up by a trained professional only!
WARNING:
Surfaces as well as the extruder and printed object will remain hot for
some time after the printer shuts down.
3. Network and printer set up
To establish a connection with the X500 you must rst check your computer´s network settings and adapt
them, if necessary. Then you can launch the setup routine and put the printer into operation.
3.1 Connection via router
If necessary, contact your network administrator about integrating the
X500 into your network.
If your network settings are DHCP based, the X500 is automatically assigned an IP address. In this case the
X500 just has to be connected through a patch cable to your network.
Then you can see the printer´s assigned IP address as well as the MAC address on the LCD display.

To congure your 3d printer afterwards you must launch the setup routine. Enter the pre-assigned ip
address of your 3d printer into your browser to establish a connection. The rst step of the set up routine
will appear thereafter :
• 192.168.1.1/setup.php
If you already assigned an ip address to your printer and you want to
restart the setup routine, you must use your new ip to establish a connec-
tion XXX.XXX.X.X/setup.php .
