Personnel
Before using this product and associated equipment, refer to the “Important
Safety Instructions” listed here and in the front of the Vision Engineering
Manual, to avoid personnel injury and to prevent product damage.
Products may require specific equipment, and/or installation procedures to be
carried out to satisfy certain regulatory compliance requirements. Notices have
been included in these publications to call attention to these specific
requirements.
Important Safety Instructions
Use only manufacturer approved Power Supplies and Power Cords supplied
with this product.
The power supply adapter(s) included with this product use a protective earth
connection to reduce the risk of electrical shock to the operator and or service
personnel. A grounding conductor in the equipment's supply cord provides this
protective earth connection and must be reliably connected to a facilities
protective earth.
Do not defeat safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A
polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type
plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The third prong is provided for
your safety. If the provided plug does not fit in to your outlet, consult an
electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
Protect the product’s power cord(s) and replace any cord(s) which shows signs
of physical damage or ware.
The product's power supply cord(s) is (are) used as a means to disconnect the
power supply from the AC Mains. Ensure either the appliance inlet or the mains
plug of the power supply cord, remains readily operable.
This product is designed for Indoor Use:
“WARNING - TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK,
DO NOT EXPOSE THIS APPERATUS TO RAIN OR MOISTURE”.
General Handling Guidelines
• Careful handling, using proper ESD precautions, must be observed.
• Power down the system before PCB removal.

ESD Susceptibility — Avoid handling the switcher circuit
boards in high static environments such as carpeted areas, and
when synthetic fiber clothing is worn. Touch the frame to
dissipate static charge before removing boards from the frame,
and exercise proper grounding precautions when working on
circuit boards.
Environmental Information
The equipment that you purchased required the extraction and use
of natural resources for its production. It may contain hazardous
substances that could impact health and the environment.
To avoid the potential release of those substances into the environment and to
diminish the need for the extraction of natural resources, Ross Video encourages
you to use the appropriate take-back systems. These systems will reuse or
recycle most of the materials from your end-of-life equipment in an
environmentally friendly and health conscious manner.

Ross Video does not provide a mounting arm with the Vision control panel.
When selecting a mounting arm, you should consider the environment that the
control panel will be operating in. For example, in a mobile or truck
environment, a more rigid mounting arm is needed to secure the Touchscreen
Display.
Operating Tip — Ross Video recommends the Humanscale
M7 Desk Mount Flat Panel Monitor Arm by Media Control Co.,
Inc. (mcergo.com).
Use the following procedure to connect the Touchscreen Display to the Vision
control panel (Figure 1):
1. Secure the Touchscreen Display (Figure 1) to the VESA FDMI
MIS-D 75 or 50, C Mounting Arm using the screws provided with
the mounting arm and position the display as desired.

2. Connect and secure one end of the DVI Cable to the DVI port on the
back of the Vision control panel (Figure 2).
3. Connect and secure the other end of the DVI Cable to the DVI port on
the Touchscreen Display.

4. Connect and secure one end of the Control Cable to the External
Panel Link 1 port on the back of the Vision control panel.
5. Connect and secure the other end of the Control Cable to the PREV
port on the Touchscreen Display.
6. Connect one end of the USB Cable to a USB port on the back of the
Vision control panel. It does not matter which port you use.
7. Connect the other end of the USB Cable to the USB port on the
Touchscreen Display.
Caution — Always connect the External Power Supply to the
Touchscreen before connecting it to the AC mains power.
Connecting the power supply to the AC mains power before
connecting to the Touchscreen could damage the Touchscreen.
8. Connect and secure the Power Supply to the PS1 port on the back of
the Touchscreen Display.
9. If purchased, connect and secure the second Power Supply to the
PS2 port on the back of the Touchscreen Display.
10. Connect the power cables to the appropriate AC mains power outlets.
This completes the procedure for connecting the Touchscreen Display to the
Vision control panel.

Touchscreen Controls
There are a number of control buttons provided on the Touchscreen that allow
you to navigate the on-screen menus, or select the video input signal.
The function of these control buttons depends on the Touchscreen that you are
using. Refer to the table for your device for information on the control buttons.

POWER Navigate to the System Shutdown Menu on the switcher. Is lit
when the switcher is powered.
FRAME
FAIL Lights red when there is an error detected in the frame. Press
to navigate to the status menu on the switcher.
MENU Access the on-screen display menu.
- Navigate the on-screen display menu.
+ Navigate the on-screen display menu.
SELECT Manually select DVI-D or VGA input.
PANEL
FAIL Lights red when there is an error detected in the control panel.
Press to navigate to the status menu on the switcher.
DISPLAY Turns green when there is valid video input signal, and is unlit
when there is not a valid video input signal. Press to turn off the
button LEDs and Display.

changing to yellow. Press to turn off the button LEDs and
